Our little family of my wife, our young daughter, and our two pups stayed here for a week while I worked remotely and she finished up her maternity leave. It was a great getaway. The park was quiet, clean, everything was as expected per the website, wifi was GREAT for working, and the owner Sally was a dream to work with. We would highly recommend this place and can't wait to get back to Wimberley!

I have to admit, I was so shocked at how Sally treated our situation. I got COVID a few days before our getaway. Being a small business, I was hoping we could work out a time to switch the dates. It's LOW season and I checked for other dates in the middle of the week and they are still not booked for Northstar for the next 4 weeks, if it was HIGH season, I get it. I even paid more (with the discount) than what they are asking for now. I'm sad she wouldn't work with me, I even said I'd stay 2 nights instead of 3 if we could just switch it, really bummed. I finished my quarantine there.

We stayed in site 1, it’s a lovely little park. Our site had a nice private area our girls liked to play in and we took a nice walk with our 3 /7 yr olds to the river. My only complaint was that both nights the neighbors were having large outdoor parties. While they were very respectful of quiet time (no noise after 10), and therefore did not impact sleep at all we were expecting quiet given all the reviews and were contending with large / loud groups all through dinner and campfire. I think the perfect park if you’re planning to spend the day / night in Wimberly!

UPDATED: I am updating my review because yes I left an overly harsh review, my apologies. This place does get great reviews and by what I can see they have done a great job with their RV park. I left my initial review at a time when I was frustrated because I am finding a lot of parks that have dog breed or size restrictions making it difficult to bring our dogs with us. We are responsible pet owners, but unfortunately everyone is not. It is just very frustrating.
How is this place “Pet Friendly” when in their policy it states, Friendly Dogs welcome, Aggressive Breeds and Large Breed not allowed

Black Canyon Wimberley RV was everything their website stated and more. It was beyond our expectations with just a 5 min. drive down the road to any amenity that you could possibly need or want. The park was clean, hookups worked perfect, and Sally was so helpful (if needed). Overall excellent experience!!! We will be back!

Black Canyon Wimberley was exactly what we were looking. This campground is relatively new and has seven RV spots and two farmhouse cottages. Everything was so clean, quiet, and well taken care of. Sally, the owner, was so great to work with and had the best suggestions for eating nearby. Only the two premium pull thru sites have their own table and fire ring (Sites 1 and 5). If you can, snag Site 5. It's a large pull-thru end site with it's own fire pit and table on the awning side. Site 1 has the table/fire ring on the hook up side. But there is a communal area with a picnic table, fire ring

Had a great weekend of Christmas shopping in Wimberley, staying at the recently-opened Black Canyon RV Park. Beautifully kept, wide pull-through and back-in full hook up spaces. Just 5-minute drive to shopping and dining. Wonderful owners who are excited about serving visitors to their community. Will definitely return!
