BARTuning is an awesome shop full of honest work and integrity. My brother has had his modded VW tuned there for the longest time with fantastic service so I took my BMW there to get a problem fixed. Sure enough the problem was diagnosed and fixed quickly at a very reasonable price. I will ALWAYS take my precious ride there for any issues.
Mike at BARTUNING has the best operation going. He worked on our VW Cabrio until we sold it a couple of years ago. His charges for the services were very reasonable. We are a well established family owned facility located in Houston, Texas. BARtuning specializes in Audi and Volkswagen vehicles as well as Alfa Romeo, BMW and Porsche automobiles.
I brought my BMW X5 to bartuning for multiple repair services, I brought it in Wednesday at around 9 am and received my truck back Friday afternoon FIXED with no issue. The guys Mike and Johnny were quick, professional, and efficient. I will only be taking my cars here for service from now on. I really appreciate you guys.

A BMW dealer in town recommended that I replace my DPF and sensor for $5800. I asked for a second opinion from BarTuning and it turns out there’s an extended warranty on the sensor. Stupid dealer didn’t even know this. They recommended another dealer for me to get the work done. That is outstanding and super honest!!! Hard to find in this business.

I had come to Houston from Oklahoma City to handle some business well while there my gears on my VW Beetle manual transmission messed up couldn’t go in reverse I called told them my situation needs to say I had a funeral to attend back in Oklahoma In 2 days I called them had my car towed the next day within 2 hours my car was ready and their reasonable they will do whatever they can to help you get back rolling I made it back for the funeral I will recommend to anyone

I took my 2013 Passat to them because I wanted to get a trusted VW mechanic shop to diagnose the car properly and was told by another professional mechanic that it might be the heater core. So they had it for over a day told me that heater core needed to be change which was $2400 and another sensor also needed to be changed which was approximately $300. Because of the dialogue I was suspicious of the diagnosis. So I picked up my car the following morning and paid $145 for the diagnostics fee. And then took it to my mechanic and also bought a heater core since they mentioned it was the heater core

The front desk representative was very polite. Although I’m very confused to why they told me I needed a new headlight which was very expensive, I got a second opinion & all I really needed was a new module. I know a lot of women aren’t really educated when it comes to cars, but that was very misleading. Thank God I got a second opinion, I saved a few thousand dollars ! I don’t want to bring any negativity towards this company AT ALL, I’m just sharing my personal experience. God bless.

This is the second time I have been back to Mike and his team for a tune. The first was on my SQ5, which added big improvement to it performance.
This week I went back get the Porsche Macan Turbo tuned. Not only did Mike and his guys do a first class job with this, they did the oil change and put a new pair of boots on it and then alignment.
As always very thorough and informative, as you would expect. If you are looking at I have your care tuned, serviced etc. look no further. I HIGHLY recommend Bar Tuning!!

Mike and the techs at Bartuning are excellent and make repairs the right way (no short cuts). I had pads and rotors changed on my S8 and they did a fantastic job.
On a side note, the dealer told me my brakes needed replaced one year ago, I stopped by Bartuning and Mike took a look at it and told me I had quite a while to go so go drive it andd let him know when I was ready. When the time hit I knew I i wanted Bartuning to do the work.

I wanted to wait a few months to write this review, just in case problems arose, after repair work on my turbo charger for my car (Audi B8.5 A4 Allroad, in case it matters).
So far, everything is working perfectly!
Mike Staley truly knows his cars, inside and out. Me, on the other hand, I try to be as knowledgeable whenever major work is being performed on my car. I think he detected this in me and when I took my car in, due to the boost pressure not being up to snuff. He didn't just pop the hood and charge me for a repair, he took the time to drive my car to generate a boost pressure

Very impressive knowledge, professionalism and integrity! They did a great job on my wifes Audi TTS. Mike, the owner, obviously knew what he was talking about and took the time to explain things to me. He also made recommendations on other things I could do myself since I own a auto repair facility as well (we just don't do the specialized Audi programming). I was very impressed by his focus on people and doing what's right. Nice to see there are a few others out there who care about their reputation over making an extra dollar. Great job!

Mike did some excellent work on my 2014 TDI Passat a few years back and was also able to help me in a pinch. I attempted to install a short throw shifter on my own but couldn't get the alignment where it was supposed to be. Mike was able to get me in on short notice and out in under an hour for a cool $100.

You all were LIFESAVERS! I thought I'd be screwed after I noticed my car flooded in Houston after all that weather craziness. Ya'll started work on my flooded car immediately and kept moist/mold problem under control until the insurance company finally got to the car inspection. I was updated the entire way. After all of your work, it's pretty much impossible to tell there was a lick of water damage. It even smells better. Thank you Mike and everybody!

Mike is amazing. Wouldn't even consider taking either of my German cars anywhere else! He has tunes and worked on my GTI, as well as my wife's jettasportwagen. Top notch work, expertise, and a true passion for German cars! He talked me through a new purchase ( wife's car was totaled! Not her fault!) did an inspection on it ( Audi A3 Used) before I purchased it, and helped me figure out how to negotiate a better deal to boot!!!!! He is the only one to touch any of my cars!

I have mixed feelings about BAR Turning and Mike Staley. I've gone to him for years with 2 different cars, 1 of which I purchased directly from his parents, which ended up having numerous issues he glazed over. I've recommended him to friends who have subsequently had similar experiences to me. I no longer recommend him.

Took my daughters 2010 Bug to Mike on a friends recommendation. She tried to go Baja in it and busted the radiator bracket and punched a hole in the coolant line for the condenser. The dealership wanted to break me down like a shotgun, so I went for a second opinion.
Mike fixed it without having to replace the entire line like the dealership stated, saving me a ton of cash.
No games, no loading you up with a bunch of stuff you don't need. Mike loves cars and is straight up and friendly. He'll be. My go too guy now on.

BAR Tuning is a European auto repair / tuner / life saver shop located in Houston. Similar to another review here, I recently relocated to Texas from Florida looking for a reputable shop to fix what I thought was bad CV-Joints or Axles.
After searching Google and visiting the APR (Performance Parts Manufacturer) site, I found BAR Tuning as a authorize dealer. I called them up and spoke to Clint and with my usual cautious "I'm not ready to get ripped off attitude" I asked if they could fix CV joints and how much would it cost. This place is called "BAR Tuning" now, but Mike and his employees are at the top of a very short list of people who I'll let turn a wrench on any of my vehicles. As a professional mechanic myself, I'm pretty picky, so if I'm satisfied you'll probably be too.
