This document may change as I learn more and grown. I am committed to the necessary work of anti-racism in myself, my community, and my work. I do come from generations of white privilege, which was unearned & contributes to the roots of racism in this country. I am happy to discuss the steps I am taking with you to become anti-racist, including recognizing it in myself and addressing it immediately.
Racism, oppression, and microaggressions exist everywhere, and they exist in the world of therapy. Therapy needs to do better, and I need to do better. Systemic racism impacts our humanity, and when we "other", we effectively dehumanize people in order to stay in a system that allows white people, and myself as a white woman, to flourish on this unequal ground.

Services
I like to infuse my work with clients with a healthy sense of humor, and a realistic, goal oriented approach to therapy! I started out treating adolescent girls with behavioral and emotional issues, and worked intensively on assisting their families as well. I am also a certified Rape Crisis Counselor by the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center, where I served as an individual and group therapist, as well as a medical advocate for survivors of rape.
Supervision sessions are available for individuals working toward Licensure or Board Certification as an LMHC in the state of Massachusetts, and for those needing supervision to gain expertise in women's issues, particularly in the areas of trauma and posttraumatic stress, mood disorders, Binge Eating Disorder, and reproductive & maternal mental health.
I've spoken to many groups about my specialties! This includes speaking to Mom's Groups, Women's Support Groups, High School Guidance Counselors, OB/GYN Offices, Book Clubs. I've done it all! I love providing some psychoeducation around the important mental health work that I do as a therapist.
Recent speaking engagements include 'Postpartum Mood Disorders' for the North Shore Birth Professionals, and "Thriving Your Practice With Healthcare Reform: Implications of Payment Reform for Individual & Small Practices" with MaMHCA & NASW-MA.I've also given workshops on Safe Social Media for LMHCs, and How To Start a Private Practice!

As part of my values and belief system, I give back in many ways. Therapy for women is a way that I give back, but another one of those ways is donating to Kiva. Your money not only sustains me, but also helps lend funds to small businesses worldwide in an effort to alleviate poverty. I chose Kiva because, as a small business owner in private counseling, I know what it's like to get off the ground.
Please let me know if you'd like to know more about client openings by sending me a quick email! Out of network option for weekly or bi-weekly 45 minute in person individual appointments according to your insurance plan (call your plan for details). You plan MAY reimburse you for sessions with me. Virtual sessions can be a great alternative when you can't make it in to the office.

I have been seeing Jessica for a while now. I have made so much progress. She is an AMAZING person and therapist. She is always looking for ways her clients can grow and heal. She is kind and understanding and also has no problems "giving it to you straight" either. I have to say I have been in and out of therapy for several years, Jessica is the first person who I felt really listened to me and who ACTUALLY helped me. I can't recommend her enough!

Jessica is not my first therapist, so I can say from experience that she is the best that there is!
An abusive family situation and boyfriends to follow are what put me in therapy in the first place. Jessica has helped me create strategies for dealing with stress at home and at work, improving my self-confidence, and building a successful relationship. She is supportive and is great at not only hearing what you're saying, but hearing what you may not realize you're saying.
I would highly recommend her (and I have) to anyone who has experienced childhood trauma, has self-esteem issues
