For 38 years, I raised a family and cooked for my husband and 7 children in New York. We then decided to move and because we loved the beach so much we moved to, yes another beach. I now know my heart is in Hermosa Beach California. We opened our Italian Kitchen using my Italian grandmother's old-fashioned and time tested recipes.

It doesn't get any better than the starting house bread and garlic / olive oil combo. Seriously the best stuff. My go to is usually the butternut squash ravioli, which is amazing if it's available.
Cole early to avoid the wait as the location has limited seating. Great place to bring out of town guests!

I love Mama D'S! Had a wonderful dinner Monday night out on their patio. Even though it isn't far form the hwy and is next to the parking lot for Lazy Acres it was cozy with heat lamps decorated lovely and we really weren't disturbed by cats or sounds.
The meal was fantastic. We brought a bottle of wine with us and paid a $15 dollar corkage fee. They start you off with delicious warm slightly cheesy bread and a yummy dipping olive oil with garlic.
I chose the gluten free pasta with a sauce of the specials menu brown butter sage. Absolutely amazing.

The best italian I've had in Los Angeles. Locally owned, delicious bread, delicious sauces and specials, and they give you a cookie at the end with your bill! They we're also so nice and made sure to make everyone feel special and welcome. No complaints here, only praises, and we will be back for sure!

Took my friend there to sober her up and she went crazy on the bread and Olive Oil Dip and finally, while I was already eating fresh pasta with Alfredo Sauce (delicious) she ordered Ravioli stuffed with Lobster. It was unplanned... my actual mission was to rescue her from herself and keep her from getting in an accident. She got sobered up so I took her to her vehicle, told her to follow me, and we made it a few blocks until she fell asleep, (after effects of good Italian food). She rear ended my vehicle good. Dinner @mamadshermosa was exquisite!!! If you are in Hermosa Beach take ya butt to Mama D's because they have the best Italian food in Southern California. We ordered Egg Plant Parmesean & Veggie Pasta!!!! Food so delectable I had to 💋 the chef!!!! Kate was amazing!!! Her customer service is splendid!!!! The entire staff made me feel at home... Absolutely 10/10 recommended! Ordered myself a pasta for pick up tonight, customer service was amazing, I was given 2 big pieces of garlic bread on the house for my boyfriend and I for while we waited (which were super yummy) Only took about 10 minutes to be ready and it was absolutely delicious. They also threw more bread in the bag AND some cookies. My boyfriend is such a picky eater and usually wouldn’t eat this but even he loved it when he tried mine. Definitely will be back before the end of our trip!!! Thanks so much Mama D’s!

I had a wonderful dinner with my daughter at Mama D's tonight. The servers were all super friendly. The meat lasagna was worth breaking the Keto diet rules. It was delicious! My daughter enjoyed her pizza and steamed broccoli. And she got to pick out a cute toy from the treasure chest. I will be back. Great Ambiance 👍

This is a no frills just good food family Italian restaurant.
The meal was Lasagna, Linguine, and a Medium pizza with pepperoni & sausage.
Besides the food, the staff is top notch!
This was my first visit to this location, and I was not disappointed.
This is a Family friendly place, So bring the kids and your sense of humor.
