Dr. Michaela McKenzie has enjoyed a love and appreciation for art since her childhood, influenced by her father, a master engraver who was commissioned by many, including the Queen of England. Dr. McKenzie realized early in her studies that she desired to apply her artistic skills to transform peoples' lives by helping them to achieve healthy and dazzling smiles.
Dentistry is the art and science of oral medicine. One would expect the practice to revolve around health, with utmost consideration for patient safety, and the use of non-toxic materials. Unfortunately, the old-school mindset was to approach dentistry more like engineering. Dentists were tooth mechanics, and little thought was given to the effect that oral health, or dental materials, may have on the body.
She practices biological dentistry, endorsing and following guidelines set forth by the IAOMT (International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology), of which she is a member. Our office is equipped with cutting-edge technology, including an advanced, four-stage air filtration system to remove particulate matter, moisture, odor, and vapor from the breathing area of the patient and staff.
However, there is more to your smile than just your teeth. Those pearly whites may take center stage, but the pink frame surrounding them is equally important. Healthy gums are crucial to the appearance of your smile, the longevity of your teeth, and more. Dr. McKenzie provides healthy, nonsurgical treatment options for patients with periodontal (gum) disease.
Over time, teeth tend to become dull, dark, brownish, yellowish, and uneven colored. This discoloration is caused largely by foods, beverages, and other dark-colored substances contacting the teeth. Although enamel appears smooth, it is actually porous and absorbs stains rather easily. Teeth whitening is a corrective technique of exposing the teeth to a bleaching agent, which restores the natural brilliance of tooth enamel.

Me and my wife LOVE going here! Dr. McKenzie is awesome! My wife found her because she was in search of a holistic dentist. As soon as you walk in, you can tell how clean the place is, the rooms are the same. The place is so peaceful as soon as you walk in the door. Terrible service. I was having anxiety from being almost upside down and I told the "doc" she brushed me off and said "you'll be fine" the thing is, if I'm telling you I'm not fine then have some compassion, let me take a breather. I then told her I didn't want the work done and instead of again being compassionate she says "I'll have to charge you for the day." Dr. Mackenzie was simply amazing to me.I haven't been to a dentist in years and she made me feel right at home.I fainted on my trip there and she provided oxygen to me and helped me out a lot. I did a lot of research on the Internet before deciding on Dr. McKenzie. Her values and philosophies line up with mine. Her holistic approach is exactly what I was looking for. She embodies the new age of dentistry with her stance on mercury, fluoride, root canals and more. I had a problem after they pulled a root canal and she told me it was all in my head... I heard about Dr. McKenzie from a close friend, and couldn't wait to make an appointment after learning she specializes in holistic dentistry! Upon arrival I was warmly welcomed and prompted to fill out new patient paperwork.

I found Dr. Mckenzie while I was looking for natural dentistry. I was nervous to go to a new dentist after I have seen my old one for almost 18 years. Simple repair is okay... I guess, but my procedure was too complex for Michela... I spent hours and days in the emergency room ( 3 times) at St. Josephs to resolve my angioedema- It was never her fault, but she sent me to allergists, oncologists and my primary Dr. at Emory - everything pointed back to Michela ( I refuse to call her Dr.). The angioedema attacks were horrible.... St. Josephs sent me to specialists. Due to Michela - I changed my medications ... we had no idea, but it was Michela. Now: My teeth are uneven, she pasted "cement" on one tooth to make it "look better" . She did not own

When I got there, the receptionist told me that they had booked someone prior to my appointment and she is running behind.
I asked how behind, she said she doesn't know. After 30 min waiting I asked again, she said she still doesn't know. At the 45 min mark i said i'm not going to wait much longer. I left frustrated and extremely upset after an hour wait.

Dr. McKenzie has transformed my smile! She is caring and compassionate which is great when you have a fear of the dentist like I do. I have trigeminal nerve damage as a result of the work and recommendations from this practice. This is a constant numbness that branches out to three parts of the left side of my face that I have to live with for the rest of my life.
