This place is great for brunch. I haven't gone for lunch yet, but love everything I have had on the brunch menu. Coffee and espresso drinks are both great. The staff is super friendly and always on top of things, especially with the coffee refills. Reasonably priced for the quality of food. They also have covered and heated outdoor seating.

BRUNCH PLACE | Great experience- people love it. Crowded is the only problem at this place as it is appreciated. Kind of expensive looking at the prices and the location as well. Denny’s is a bit better quality price. Highly recommended.

We came here on a Saturday morning and we had 9 people ahead of us when we arrived. Even with that, our wait time was under 20 minutes. We sat outside on a cold day and they provided us with sufficient heat.

I ordered the florentine Benedict. This came with fries and fresh fruit. Overall very filling and great portion size.

My kid also got a pancake which was very tasty. Overall very well priced. I will definitely make it back here. Happy to support local small businesses.

First 5 stars go to the staff, they are super friendly and attentive.
Next 5 stars goes to the French Toast! Highly recommend it.
The food in general was delicious. The sausage is tasty and their eggs are perfectly cooked. Will definitely be coming back! We ordered the crepe complete and the two eggs with sausage and potatoes.

I love this place. I came through at Sunday brunch early to meet my friend thinking I'd put our name on the waitlist if there was one -- there wasn't one, but the kind folks here welcomed me in out of the chilly December so I could sit inside and drink coffee while I waited, even though I took up a table just drinking coffee and reading for longer than I expected. No one said anything or asked any questions, just kept topping my coffee ip and I was so grateful. Once it was actually time to eat, I inhaled my chocolate chip pancakes they were just so good and exactly what I was looking

Great place to catch breakfast! I'm in town for testing at Stanford and found this place. Parking is free in the parking garage next to the restaurant. Breakfast was delicious. Coffee was meh.

I'll be coming back with my wife next time!

Visited Joanie's on Saturday morning right after coming back from India. Has awesome vibe, breakfast is casual affair if omelets, Benedict and pancakes.
Everything tastes good when vibe is good and it's treat to hear people volume getting louder with brunch mimosas!!

Joanie's is such a good breakfast / brunch spot in downtown Palo Alto! Great food, great service, great atmosphere all around.

I came here with a friend on a Saturday and while I was afraid that we would need to wait a long while, we ended up only waiting for about 10-15 minutes before we got a table outdoors. From there, service was pretty quick and we got our food after just a short wait.

I had the crepe bretonne which was fantastic! The chicken apple sausage worked very well with the brie cheese, onions, and mushrooms, and it was the perfect amount of food for me. I also got the hash

Joanie's is a classic breakfast spot!
It's similar to Bill's Cafe in certain ways:
- long wait time (but it goes by pretty quickly because there's a decent amount of outdoor seating)
- similar menu
- similar pricing (~$15-$20 per brunch entree)

I love a hearty breakfast meal, and almost always get the smoked salmon benedict.

Usually I hate hash browns because they're so soggy and not crispy, but Joanie's perfected their hash browns!

The fruit on the side is also a nice, refreshing touch that cuts through the heaviness of the meal.

Presentation is wonderful

So delicious! Food portions are large I shared with my 8 year old daughter. We got the breakfast medley and was so yum! I also got the pineapple / pomegranate mimosa and was so delicious they give you the flute and then give you the rest of the brut bottle on the side. Worth it.
Service was so quick but didn't take away from the quality of the food.
There were a ton of people waiting I expected the wait to be like an hour but they have a great system and was Seated within 10-15 min.
The only reason I wouldn't give 5 stars, parking is tricky and there was a waiter who was cussing very

My wife and I had a late breakfast here during a weekend when the farmer's market was going on, so it was right in the middle of the action. Parking was not as difficult as I predicted, considering the hundreds of people in the area going to the farmer's market--we may have gotten lucky in that regard.

Plenty of people were eating at Joanie's, so we did need to put our name on the waiting list. Because we had not been here before, I wasn't sure how long we would have to wait, or what the overall experience would be.

I'm happy to report that we didn't even wait ten

Sunday morning breakfast:
- Was able to find a place to sit quickly, nice vibe, quick service.
- Ordered chocolate chip pancakes, it’s good, pancakes might’ve been made of wheat flour, something new and different for me. You can’t replace the fresh fruit with other side, so had to take it. ( Shared hash browns with a friend though 😅)
- Ordered pineapple juice too, never tried it before. It’s too sweet, don’t order if you don’t have sweet tooth 🤣

The food was decent. We got a smoked salmon Benedict and it was quite delicious. However the English muffin and the hash browns were overly fried.

The biggest disappointment was the service. It was extremely difficult to get a waitress attention and even toward the end it took us at least 5 minutes to get someone to give us the bill.

One particular incident killed the experience altogether. We had a very dirty fork that was almost unwashed and it stuck to the napkin that it was placed on. Our food was already here so we try to ask for a new set of utensils. After several minutes to no avail

Great outdoor dining area and excellent service! The food was delicious. We ordered the Crêpe Bretonne and Goat Cheese Omelette and both were amazing meals. Very satisfying flavors and the goat cheese just melts in your mouth! Would love to visit again.

I tried the Crepe with scramble eggs with cheese for the first time and it was a weird different in a good way. I think it would of been good with hashbrown on the side in stead of my two fruits. Fruit is already included i just felt fruity that day lol. Food was delicious and customer service was great. Restrooms available.

Visited today for Sunday brunch. We went there today at 11:50 and we got seated at 12:55. The wait was longer than expected. There was Sunday farmers market nearby so the area was pretty crowded. Now coming to the food part, we ordered Blueberry pancakes, Special French toast and Veggie Sandwich. Pancake and sandwich was alright but the special french toast was really good. It was filled with Nutella and came with blueberries, strawberries and banana.

I’ve been to brunch here twice during weekends. They have outdoor seating on sundays and there’s about a half an hour’s wait. You can put in your name in the waiting list and catch up some shopping in the farmer’s market. The food is pretty good. Outdoor dining is fun. I personally love the coffee and the muffin here.

Based on the fact that takeout typically isn't anywhere near as good as eating food fresh out the kitchen, and that there was a 15-20 min drive on top, the food kept really well.

We got the berry marscapone French toast. It was really good. They include a container of a good mix of fruit to go with it. The menu online doesn't show this item but you can find it in the pictures!

Additionally, the service over the phone and when I arrived for pickup was incredible.

Parking for pickup can be a little tricky as the road is blocked off at the end when you GPS it.

We went on a Saturday at 1pm and the wait time for two people was 5 minutes (we requested to be seated anywhere) both in and out door dining are open.

Service- everyone was exceptional! They were nice and quick

Food- we got their special of the day crab omelette and breakfast medley

1) crab omelette- every bite had a mouthful of crab! It was creamy and fresh, I only wish there was more hollandaise sauce. The hash browns were fluffy and crispy all in one bite (: 9/10 (very comparable to Son and Garden's crab omelette but Joanies has WAY more crab)

2) breakfast medley was very good, super

Highly recommend by a friend, Joanies was top of the list for a weekend breakfast.
With indoor and outdoor seating now an option through the pandemic , we chose a cute table near the street and enjoyed the Saturday morning sun as we indulged.
-Eggs Benedict Florentine. Perfectly poached and smothered in Hollandaise sauce. Just the way I like it! Complimented with hashbrowns and fresh fruit.
-Combination Omelette with ham, avocado and cheddar cheese. Wheat toast and fresh fruit on the side.
The brewed house coffee was better than expected and the bill wasn't bad either.

Starting our traditional South Bay eats with breakfast this time and Joanies was on the list. One of a few places to choose from that has outdoor seating and in a well open space. Very spaced out and clean tables set and ready for diners situated in a blocked street where you can dine and eat without cars zooming by.

I am really appeased with the layout and service of this place. We was seated fast and given plenty of time to look over the menu and honestly I couldn't decide on what to order. I mean between a omelette, a scramble or eggs Benedict what was I to do. Well since there

Joanie's has become a favorite for us and even more so in the Covid area, with their outdoor seating and scrupulous anti-viral practices.

Expect very competent breakfast standards prepared from fresh ingredients. A few noteworthy items: The corned beef hash appears to be made from corned beef, as opposed to the pulverized mash that comes from a can. Real corned beef is not common. The tangerine juice is delicious! They have real maple syrup on request, with no up-charge.

Service is top-notch.

Note that the Palo Alto farmer's market, on Sundays, is right there. If you're headed
