This is the best mechanic shop I've came across and lucky enough I live down the block. They are honest, great work, compassionate and great prices. Once it's fixed it's fixed and with a 2 year warranty. Way better work then a dealership. Had a check engine light on my 2015 Ford Fiesta so I brought it into this place after reading the stellar reviews. The positive reviews were all well deserved, the staff (shoutout to Nick and Veronica) were super friendly and professional and the repairs were solid. They sent me full breakdown of any issues discovered from the diagnostic, including photos and videos of affected areas (which I've never received from any mechanic before). The whole matter was taken care of and my car was back to me shockingly fast. 10/10 would recommend

I ended up not needing to take my car to this shop in the end but this review is based on the interaction and quote Carlos gave me to repair my 09 VW Tiguan. Carlos went above and beyond to give me the best price he could, he was honest, worked with me, was friendly, and explained everything thoroughly. I will no doubt have him on the top of my list next time I need any servicing of my vehicles.

Carlos and his guys did a great job with analyzing my vehicle, giving proper diagnosis and charging reasonable price for labor and parts (O2 sensor and carbon cleaning.) Carlos was very consistent, timely and went out of his way to ensure quality service. They also have aftermarket parts and help with installs. Will definitely be coming here more often when needed. Highly recommended!

John 100% stands by his work. A great family business that is now my go--to for an honest opinion and good prices. Call ahead to make an appt for the quickest service. As a kid I loved passing the sign with a different clever saying for each season on the way to school. My only problem is that I did not start going here sooner. A true Dunning gem.

Was recommended here by my coworker, very honest and hardworking guys. My car broke down and I never had that happen before so I was clueless on where to take it. They were able to diagnose and fix the issue (contaminated gasoline from the 4219 N Milwaukee Citgo-- don't go there for gas!!) fairly quickly and were very honest with me the whole time. Would definitely take my car here again for repairs but hopefully It won't break down again!

Consistently honest, fair, and respectful. They do a great job, get it done quickly, and keep you informed of what's going on the whole time. They are happy to answer questions, explain problems, and refer you to another reputable place if the work needed is something they don't do. These guys are great & I'd recommend them unconditionally. I drive almost 20 miles to bring my car to Our Town. Good job guys!

My father and I have been brining our vehicles to John and Chuck for almost 10 years which will end as of today. I had a flat tire that i was able to fill and make it to our town just before it went flat again. I spoke with Chuck and asked about buying 2 new tires. Chuck stated they didn't stock tires and it would be awhile. Ok, that I understood. I asked Chuck if he could assist me to get my spare on because my tire iron is missing and I'm on the way to work. Chuck told me he was to busy and to go down the street to Irving park and try just tires. Thanks for nothing Chuck. I Will not

All I can speak to is their customer service, which is terrible enough to ensure I never have any work done by them. I called today to make an appointment to bring my car in. I began to explain that it was idling a little rough and that I expected it needed spark plugs but just wanted to get it checked out, and the man who answered my call cut me off and started lecturing me about how I shouldn't be diagnosing my car, thats for a mechanic to do, and that if he does the spark plugs that won't fix the problem blah blah blah. You know, at first I was going to them because they were not far from my house and I thought it was out of convenience that I would only have them service my vehicle for minor repair issues, like burnt out fuses, replacing old brakes or even replace a battery. But when my truck started breaking down beyond the typical wear and tear issues I kept going to them because many times they would go over the diagnostic process a bit more thoroughly and they would even inform me of issues that I wasn't aware of without that strong arm tactic that I would need this or that in order to get my vehicle

One can only imagine what motivated one "reviewer" to label this place as dishonest or uncooperative when in fact Our Town is known far and wide as a reputable,honest and affordable establishment.Chuck and John are the best at what they do.I have referred a number of patrons to Our Town and many drive many miles just to have their cars serviced there....When you find a skilled and honest mechanic you dont let go. Very rude I wanted them to look at my car it was over heating, clicking sound wierd smell, and will die when stop yes it rad in a crash the guy didn't even get him name said what's the point on me looking at it when it's the crash that is causing these problems, I would understand but it hasn't been looked @ by any1 so who can really say it body or do to old age when he didn't even look @ it. I wouldn't go there unless you know what is wrong with ur car can't trust anyone. btw it's a 95 ford tarus with 90,000 miles

Fantastic service! I originally brought my Ford in to an auto center who wanted to charge me around $1,700 in repairs! I read some positive reviews and decided to give Our Town a try. What a difference! I ended up paying close to $800 instead of $1,700 but even the $800 wasn't necessary since all I really needed was about $250 worth of work. The other stuff that I had done was simply a recommendation for the future. I decided to have it done anyway though since I had the funds. My car now drives like it did when I first bought it. I can't recommend these guys enough. Incredibly

Though i have'nt lived in the area for 13 yrs i will say John & Chuck do a great job and are very honest. They know their business is based on honesty and repeat customers. I was working in the area several years ago and my car conked out 2 blocks from Our Town. I live in Grayslake but was glad when it died on Harlem. Walked in and Chuck remembers you by name. Had my car towed, replaced my fuel pump. Though i did have to rent a car to get home and to work the next day i am glad it happened where it did.

We purchased tires from a major chain and the purchase included free tire rotation as well as a free evaluation of other major parts on the car, which usually results in a repair estimate that exceeds $1000.00. I took the car to Our Town and Chuck told me that technically the repairs were necessary, according to the manufacturer's specs. However, Chuck said that the repairs weren't needed at the time and that we could probably get away with 20,000 mile more until it was necessary to make the repairs (nothing involving safety-related issues). Chuck is always honest in his assessment

I needed my Brakes repaired fast, and I had noticed this shop on my daily walks. I went in and the 1st thing I noticed how Absolutely Clean the waiting room was. Most car repair shops look like a complete Disaster, NOT Here; I have seen Hospitals that were Not as Clean and Organized as Our Town Auto Center.
Chuck took Fantastic care of me.
Answered all of my questions in a professional manner, and provided me with all of the details I needed to make an informed decision on the work that needed to be done Now, as well as what could be put off
