Sushi Hanabi

Since Hubby and I were in the area, we decided to enjoy a nice dinner to celebrate our anniversary. There were a lot of places in the area, but we decided to go for some sushi since it's been such a long time that we've had some. I looked around and saw that Sushi Hanabi had some interesting rolls that we could try.

We were both glad that we arrived there during the time that we did (a little before 6pm), because after that the restaurant started to get packed.

We were seated and after looking over the menu, we decided to order 4 rolls. We ended up getting the Lion King, Finding Nemo

I Love this place. It's my favorite sushi in Pleasanton. Friendly staff. Quick and efficient. They use chicken breast for the picky eaters that don't really like sushi. The rolls are always fresh and they always have local sports teams on the tv!

Good tasting sushi rolls, but on the pricier side though. At least the fish was good and fresh. Udon seemed fine, wife liked it. I prefer a bit more flavor though. Their tempura was really tasty.

Great rolls especially since I don't like raw fish and they have a so many cooked rolls! Loved the unagi they had here and the others in my family also liked what they got. Kind of small location but service was fast so definitely worth it if you have a sushi craving!

The veggie roll seemed more valuable than sashimi. Victoria secret is fun.

Guilty: I always gravitate towards Amakara when it comes to sushi. I wanted somewhere more chill and that didn't have a 3 hour wait, so we ended up at Sushi Hanabi. They are located in a small plaza with plenty of parking. This restaurant is very small & intimate.

We really enjoyed all of the food! We ordered mixed tempura, oyster fry, jack sparrow roll, crazy monkey roll and the burning love. Really enjoyed the dinner we had here! We got the rainbow roll, Jack sparrow roll, and the crazy monkey roll. They were all delicious! My partner and I loved the various textures in the Jack Sparrow roll... crunch from the pepper, creamy with the cream cheese. The sauce on the Crazy Monkey roll was really good too.

The rolls chuck Noris and ultimate spider rolls were good. I left with a bad first impression on customer service unfortunately. We came in around 4pm and it was slow yet were told to hurry and order so sushi chef can eat lunch before dinner rush. Tried to be understanding but the thing is they never left and kept taking orders. There was no hours sign declaring a typical one hour break for staff most sushi places have. Okay, so to me this is the most under rated sushi spot in Pleasanton. This is my go to for good sushi- the quality is there and I'm a sushi stickler. The place it's self is small, but nice, clean, and quiet, reminiscent of a little sushi spot in Japan. The service is great and friendly---

Came here for a dinner date and had a pretty good experience. The restaurant was crowded but not filled all the way yet so we were able to get seated right away.

We had a bento box and two rolls to share. For the bento box, we got the spicy tuna roll, tonkatsu, and mixed tempura. The spicy tuna roll was actually pretty spicy which I enjoyed. The tempura and tonkatsu were fried well. For the tempura, I enjoyed the vegetables. It does come with one shrimp, but I felt like the vegetables had a better texture than the shrimp. Food was decent but service was slow and unattentive. Prices are definitely on the higher side without offering more quality or more expensive types of fish in dishes compared to other sushi restaurants.

Came here for dinner on a Sunday evening, holiday weekend, party of 4. Ate outside in their covered tent.

We had seaweed salad (looked good, I didn't try it), garden salad (ok), and these rolls:

- Spider Roll - tasty, but maybe a bit messy with the amount of sauce on it
- 49er Roll - this was mine. Was very tasty with the crunchy bits on top, and good green onion.
- Chuck Norris Roll - seemed to be good.

Pleasant staff, good experience, will add to our sushi restaurant rotation.

I've been living in the tri-valley area for nearly 16 years and came across this spot one year ago. I couldn't believe this was under my nose all these years.

It has become our go-to spot for Sushi. Hubby and I both work in San Jose and on Friday nights after a long commute home, Sushi Hanabi hits the spot for us.

It's a small, quaint restaurant; the staff is incredibly friendly (we love Michelle), and their sushi is visually pleasing and fresh! I'm also a huge supporter of Korean-owned businesses. =)

It's unfortunate that Covid-19 put a damper on our date nights but

Sushi was probably the best sushi ive had ina while. We got the soju roll, the Victorias secret, Chubby chubby, caterpillar rolls. Definitely will be coming back soon

I've been craving for sushi for so long!! Haven't had the courage to eat raw food since March when everything started to close down due to COVID-19. But a few days ago I caved in and went to Sushi Hanabi where I knew would be clean and safe - I dined there previously (pre-covid) for my brothers birthday!

And without a doubt, Sushi Hanabi did not let me down!

Once you enter, there are tables blocking off the front portion of the restaurant. The tables are set with a sanitizing station, payment station, menu, etc. I was surprised they even had clean/dirty trays for pens.

We had a great experiencing dining here. Covid had cleared the place out, which was pretty sad. But the service was very good and there was a concerted effort toward making everything sanitary and contactless.

And I haven't even mentioned the food. Wow, really delicious, even if a little more pricey than other restaurants. We ordered three rolls, and our favorite was the Red Dragon. Would love to come back and try more, but it'll have to wait for our next visit to Cali. That said, we told our family about Sushi Hanabi, and they live nearby, so hopefully the restaurant will get more business

Cute little place with an impressive menu, including a specials menu of fish flown in internationally. We've been here a few times and enjoyed their okonomiyaki (which is impossible to find in the tri valley area) and special rolls. Most recently, Husband and I shared hamachi toro from the specials menu (sooooo good!!!) and the signature sushi set for 2. The sushi set comes with miso soup (very gentle flavor...perhaps white miso?) and salad (really liked the tangy dressing), 6 pieces chef's choice sashimi, 6 pieces chef's choice nigiri, and you pick 2 rolls from their popular rolls menu. Sushi Hanabi has been around a while and I've read many positive reviews from my Yelp friends, so my wife and I decided to try them out. We were there for a late lunch and were seated right away. They have an extensive menu along with fresh fish specials. I settled for the 3 item Bento box which has multiple combo options.

Three item bento box comes with rice salad and miso soup.
Teriyaki beef was excellent it was actually skirt steak.
Grilled salmon will cooked perfectly small portion though.
Tempura shrimp 3 medium sized battered shrimp was OK.

Fresh ingredients and a pleasant atmosphere in this Japanese restaurant. The tables are spaced and the background chatter never disturbing, allowing for a pleasant conversation over dinner. The sushi /sashimi taste good and the combination options are satisfying. The roasted edamame is quite good!

From the outside you wouldn’t expect this to be THE BEST sushi restaurant in Pleasanton. The place is located at a small strip mall.
However, the sushi you get served here is so delicious, it’s unbelievably fresh and tasteful.
I usually sit at the bar to see the sushi chefs work. It’s a spectacle in itself.
Highly recommend to go for some of the special rolls.
