Duyck & VanDeHey Funeral Home was founded by Aaron and Elizabeth (VanDeHey) Duyck. Coming from strong dutch background they both knew what a family would be looking for, a focus on a families expectations and building relationships. So in 2003 the Duyck's started their funeral home in the rural community of Roy, OR.
We understand that making the many decisions which come at a time of loss can be difficult. We offer our support by providing you with two options as you consider making immediate arrangements. With online Arrangements, you can take your time to select the arrangements which are best for your preferences and budget.
We are a family ran business besides Liz and Aaron most likely you will be greeted by our parents who help us for services, Ralph Duyck, Arlene and Greg VanDeHey. Other familiar people you will meet is Tracie Gillespie, she has been working with us for the past six years and is a fully licensed funeral director and Richard Rye, he is a funeral assistant.
Most of us plan ahead in life. We plan for our wedding, our children's education, family vacations, and other significant expected life events. We also plan for the unexpected events of life by purchasing home, auto and medical insurance. Understanding the benefits of pre-planning has prompted many to take the step to plan their own arrangements.
Many who have undergone the emotional strain of arranging a funeral within hours of losing a loved one have made the choice to pre-plan their own funeral. Doing so lifts the burden from their loved ones by relieving decision-making pressure at a time of grief and emotional stress. Funeral arrangements are a deeply personal choice.

I have provided music for many Duyck & Vandehey services over 17 years. Having mingled with many grieving families, I find it remarkable that I've never heard a single complaint about their services. Rather, I hear many compliments about their outstanding and compassionate caring. Every detail receives attention.

I was given a 3 pg list from Hospice I called Duyck and Van De Hey because the name was familiar. They were very kind on the phone and put my mind at ease.
we had some special circumstances in taking my father to NV where he had a plot.
Aaron took care of everything for me. Permits, cemetary details in NV, any and all paperwork I would need. He did a wonderful job making my dad look natural and just peacefully sleeping. Everyone working there was kind and comforting. I highly recommend them.

We also just had Aaron help us with a second funeral. He is great with check lists of all the things you do and notify when someone passes. He had already contacted the cemetery before I called for arrangements. He helped with every aspect of the service and explained what needed to be done and when to do it, to all the participants. We are very thankful for their compassion and help with a difficult time.

My mom recently passed away a week after having a stroke. Her passing was so sudden, and we had no idea what to do or how to it. Aaron was so very gracious about fitting us in and coming to us to walk us through this process. He was very patient and vas not over bearing and allowed us to grieve while we put the pieces together. My mom always liked to have her nails painted yet at the time of her passing her nails were not in tip-top shape. I felt horrible that I had to painted them while she was in the hospital. I discussed my worry with Aaron and asked him if it would be possible to come and paint

We had pre-arranged partially at my Mother's request, she wanted to know she was going to be next to my Father in Montana. She wanted this reassurance as she was then with us in Oregon.
It went very smooth I really had very little to do as the Funeral home did it all, flowers, cards, posting an obituary, you name it they did it
They were very flexible and the charges were reasonable to me. We had graveside services only at my Mother's request. She would have been very happy.

My family used Duyck & Vandehey Funeral Home to make arrangements following the death of my Grandmother, and we could not have been more impressed. There was never any pressure to pay more or do anything we didn't want to, and Aaron was both supportive and helpful. He helped us with obituaries, contacting different agencies, burial preparations, and acted as a compassionate and kind person every step of the way. It takes a special kind of individual to open up their home to grieving families, and the special touches (offering us coffee, allowing us to spend time viewing the body without

I've had the unfortunate experience of doing business with Duyck & VanDeHey Funeral Home twice now. I say unfortunate only because it means the loss of a loved one. On both occasions Aaron took a sad experience and made it as pleasant as possible. The personal touches of Aaron and his family goes back to the days before death became "big business" to be handled as antiseptically as possible by corporate big box types who see you as just another customer.
My experiences with Duyck & VanDeHey have been filled with compassion and understanding, I have much admiration and respect
