Extended Horizons Scuba

They are great bunch of people. Are dive master was awesome he was so helpful to my wife who was only doing her second ocean dive. I would high recommend these group.

We had two fantastic dives near Lanai with this scuba group. We loved our instructor Shelby. She was incredibly informed and wonderful at finding sea creatures. We particularly loved the dive site Second Cathedral, but Secret Cove was breathtaking as well.
I have dove with many scuba groups and would highly recommend this group. They provide a truly top notch experience!

I only rented tanks and weights for Extended Horizon’s, but they were very kind, helpful, and accommodating. We were late getting the tanks back… luckily, they were still at the shop cleaning up and didn’t mind at all. They even offered their wash station for our personal gear. I felt bad for keeping them late and declined the offer, but was very impressed by their kindness!

As much as I hate giving this rating, it is deserved. I signed up to get scuba certified. It was such a bad experience. I do not like being in the water when it isn't clear, who does? To try and do the things necessary to get certified, in that situation, is never good. It was a recipe for disaster. I had to walk away without completing my certificate, was unable to get a full refund and not offered an option to work with another instructor during my time on Maui. I did ask. It's such a shame.....and also, Erik, shame on you for not trying to help a person trying to get certified!

I was very impressed with my boat dive with Extended Horizons. It was expensive, but the experience was first rate. It wasn't the typical cattle car I've experienced on other boat dives when divers are jammed together shoulder-to-shoulder. There were only 7 divers, including myself. So it was very comfortable. Just finished up my open water certification through Extended Horizons with instructor Bruce. He was very professional, really knowledgable about the sea life (who knew that glob rolling around on the sea floor was a parrotfish mucus cocoon for protection while sleeping?-Bruce did!), and patient when he needed to be. I left feeling very competent and like I learned a lot. Thanks Bruce!

I first dove with Extended Horizons in 2000 after a bad experience with another Maui operation. Subsequent trips in 2009, 2016, and 2021 have confirmed my appreciation for this company and their excellent employees, services, and equipment. Their boat dives off the south side of Lanai have become one of my favorite experiences, and I've also enjoyed shore dives including night diving at Black Rock. On my most recent visit, Victoria, Shelby, and Chris ensured an amazing experience, including a once in a lifetime encounter with a Humpback whale at the No Name Paradise dive site of Lanai.

My husband and I chartered a dive boat through Extended Horizons last week to celebrate his birthday and dive Maui for the first time in years. We were blessed with incredible guides/crew in Victoria and Chris and the diving and overall experience was epic. Extended Horizons is 100% environmentally responsible and clearly just as focused on hiring premier talent and showing their guests a time to remember. In 10 years of diving I have never seen such outstanding visibility and incredible sea life! My only regret is we didn't book beyond the two days we had but it gives us a reason to return and

My favorite dive shop is Extended Horizons; it is difficult to explain why but perhaps this review will help. They don’t sell dive gear. Well, they have a little, but it certainly isn’t a significant part of their business. What I think they specialize in, is taking small groups on great boat and/or shore dives. This year’s trip to Maui, I went on two shore dives with Maiah (I hope I’m spelling her name correctly). There was only one other diver with us. We visited/dove both Airport Beach (Kahekili) and Mala Pier (Wharf) Oct 7, 2021. Maiah ensured we entered the water at the easiest locations

We had a really great experience working with Extended Horizons for a week while visiting Maui. Erik was great to work with and the staff was very knowledgeable on different sites, animals and gear. Also, they have 100 cu.ft. tank sizes!

Just did 2 different 2 tank dives with them, the twilight shore dive as a refresher last week and the Cathedrals Dive this morning.
Very professional shop, all the staff are super friendly and knowledgeable. They only do smaller groups, which I think is safest, and they do a great job making sure everyone is having fun no matter their skill level!
I had Chris as the only guide for the shore dive and both him and Shelby for the Cathedrals dive. They clearly love what they do, they're super nice and it's really fun diving

It was my first ever scuba diving experience and I loved it! Scarred at first when got underwater, I was reminded by our wonderful instructors Emma and Maya to "just breathe" :) and I was able to get over it and enjoy the underwater world. Ladies were great, friendly and attentive to everyone in our large group. It's just wonderful to have two women as instructors! Thank you

Refresher... I'm a Certified diver but I didn't dived in 10 years!! Because of all their reviews on here I decided that Extended Horizon is an excellent company to refresh my memory, because honestly I was nervous!!! From the start The lady in their office was super friendly and very professional! I scheduled 3 days after to go with an instructor.
I met with Gustavo and he was so chill and so patient that I knew it going to be fun! Everything he said was very clear and I could tell he really loves what he do and loves to teach!

My boyfriend and I had a fantastic experience with Victoria and Shelby at Extended Horizons. As a new diver, I cannot say enough about how helpful both were in helping me acclimate to diving and guiding an incredible series of dives. Victoria was patient, attentive, flexible, and worked with me while also coordinating the rest of the group to continue at their own pace with Shelby. My dives with Victoria were pivotal to evolving into diving (just the day before I came close to giving up entirely). I did an open water referral for my open water certification. The entire experience was fantastic. Booking was really straightforward (just one quick phone call), and the training in the water went off without a hitch. All rental gear fit great & was in good condition. I was still a bit nervous after the pool training but Emma definitely calmed my nerves. She is a great instructor - very knowledgeable and encouraging. My fiance and I did two "discover" dives off the beach with Maiah. Initial pricing was for one dive, paid extra for an additional dive. We had done an intro dive once before so we knew some basic skills. We met at the shop, got fitted for our gear, and then went through all the PADI material for an intro dive. Maiah covered all material, but it went pretty quickly because ultimately she was just reviewing the skills we knew from before. Very professional instructor. Dave is just super calm and composed all the time and knows it's difficult for someone who's diving for the first time. He actually pushed me to breakthrough my fear of breathing under water.

Maiah was an amazing instructor too and went over all the basics once before getting into the ocean and once under water.

My wife actually couldn't breathe out of the regulator in the end and Peter rushed to the rescue and calmly brought her up. Cheers Peter!

Went to Maui and scuba dived with GU and Maiah. Maiah actually took us down to tour the reef but GU was the class instructor. Amazing service, fast and easy class and a wonderful dive. It was my son and nephews first scuba dive and all went well. This is a great outfit with highly skilled and knowledgeable dive masters. Thanks to them all for a wonderful experience. I highly recommend Extended Horizons and Eric was super helpful with getting our dive arranged. Enjoy Maui from 20' below the surface, we did!

Dave was amazing! We were a family of four - Dad and 15 yo were certified divers while Mom (me) and 17 yo had had no diving experience. We arranged a mixed-level introductory shore dive and booked an extra tank for each of us. I am a strong swimmer but tend to panic underwater. Dave was so patient and reassuring, he helped me overcome my fear and to everyone's surprise I managed to do two dives back to back! Dave even had a little etcher board which he would write on underwater to tell us about all the amazing creatures we came across. The intro dive actually counts towards PADI certification

My brother and I had been referred to Extended Horizons from a local dive shop back in California. We were on a tight schedule due to our vacation plans but Extended Horizons was able to get us set up with a great 2 Tank Shore dive.

Included in our pricing was rental gear as well. We arrived at the shop and all of the staff was great. We were introduced to Hannah who would be our guide for the day and she was wonderful. She got us situated with gear. We went over our experience and what we wanted to do/ see for the day.

Great outfit! We booked a two tank shore dive. First at Airport Beach and the second at Mala Pier. My wife wasn't feeling well after the first dive and decided to pass on the second. Eric from the company refunded us for her second dive. So pleasant to deal with nice people. Very professional and very safe. Maia, our guide, did an outstanding job pointing out all the sea life and taking her time after the dives to educate us on what we saw. I only did one trip with Extended Horizons during my recent trip to Maui. It was a two-tank twilight/night dive at Mala Wharf Pier. My guide (Emma) was great, and the dives were too. This trip included my first ocean dives, and this was my first night dive. But it was very relaxed and Emma was able to show me lots of fun things, including a shark, lots of eels, a crab, pufferfish, and all sorts of other stuff. And the sunset between the dives was just so cool/serene. Would not hesitate to go with Extended Horizons in the future.

What a spectacular set of shore dives at Block Rock and Mala with my amazing tour guide Maiah.
Maiah was so chill and had an amazing eye for pointing out all the cool creatures to see. I especially appreciated her briefings of what to look out for before we went out, and also that she had an underwater whiteboard to describe the species of the creatures we were seeing as we went through our dive.
The MALA dive spot is an ABSOLUTE MUST -- it's CRAZY how many HUGE Green Turtles you see there! We saw a whitetip reef shark too and even heard whales singing!
Best shore dive I've ever experienced

Diving with Extended Horizons is a great experience. The crew is exceptionally service oriented, skilled and knowledgeable about the dive locations, fish and mammals (i.e., whales, monk seals) and the mechanics / safety aspects of diving Dive groups are always small and they do a good job of working with newer and more experienced divers during the same trip. They also take input on dive sites and attempt to provide an experience that meets a group's varied expectations.

Due to COVID, prices are up and number of divers allowed on the boat down so you might be a bit surprised at the

Our instructor was Hannah and she did a phenomenal job! My dad and I came to get PADI open water certified and we signed up for the 3-day course. We spent the first day doing skills testing and the 2nd and 3rd days with more actual diving with skills tests mixed in. The final dive on the 3rd day was my favorite - Mala Pier!! Underwater wreck dive (basically a scuba obstacle course) with plenty of fish and sea turtles. I recommend Hannah as an instructor and a great dive buddy all-around. She is patient and observant underwater, always pointing out cool sea critters and sharing in the fun!

Cory was a great instructor and a good person to have as a teacher to get our open water certs! Definitely would recommend this place. They're safe and by the book which is what you want when starting a new sport!
