My wife was recovering from the flu and had rightly stayed off medications per PADI guidelines, and Sammy was still able to make her fall in love with diving. Sammy Scuba will take you on a private, introductory scuba dive at a calm, shallow water location. With your certification, Sammy Scuba will take you on a guided dive of many different shore dives around Maui. Each dive site offers a different theme ranging from wall drift dives, wreck dives, coral gardens, turtle cleaning stations and cave dives!
We just got back from HI, and couldn't say enough good things about our dive. My husband & I went on two dives with Sammy, with a refresher course since it had been 1.5 years since we had last dove & had been certified. He was very laid back but informational, which was so helpful since I was a little nervous to jump back into diving after not doing for some time.

A MUST-DO Maui recommendation. A friend recommended Sammy to our group of four first-timers, and he is WORTH THE HYPE! Sammy is a true expert and professional -- not only was the process of booking very simple, but he goes above and beyond with safety procedures to ensure all we have to worry about is having fun. My husband and I had the best time scuba diving with Sammy! It was our first time so we did the introductory course and loved it. During our dive it was just us and Sammy. Yup that's right, a private dive! This is how Sammy does it. We are so happy we booked with him and not with a company where we would have been in a group. You really need that one on one. I will admit that I was a little more nervous than I thought I would be, and Sammy noticed this. But he continued to be patient and encouraging with me. If you're visiting Maui and scuba diving for the first time highly suggest going with Sam! We gave him a call and was able to take us right away the next day. Super informative from the start and once in the water he was super helpful since it was a little hard to get used to at first. Overall a great experience!!!

Diving with Sammy was the highlight of our Maui trip, highly recommend!! He ensured all the first time and certified divers were comfortable with the gear and other basics before the "discover scuba dive" dive. Besides making everyone feel safe and comfortable this was the most scenic dive I have been on. We saw sea turtles, coral, eels, octopus and countless tropical fish! I would definitely recommend diving with Sammy as a certified diver or as a non certified diver interested in the "discover scuba dive" dives. This was my first dive in Maui and I have to say it was a delightful experience. Not only Sammy was helpful and friendly, he went above and beyond his way to make sure we had a great experience. THANK YOU Sammy for being extremely patient and encouraging. Would not have asked for a better dive instructor. His instructions were always very clear and his number one priority was our safety. Getting certified with Sammy was an awesome and fun experience that I highly recommend. Sammy was very professional and taught the material at a speed that I was comfortable with which made my experience more enjoyable. The entire experience felt more like an extended dive over 2 mornings more than it did a certification course which was very pleasant. Communication was very clear and precise from the moment of booking, tricks and tips needed for future dives, to future diving location recommendations and even nearby food recommendations. I was lucky enough to get my open water certification with Sammy. He distilled the excessive information from e-learning into a straightforward set of practices and skills to stay safe underwater. Sam was amazing! He took my 14 year old son and I out and was extremely patient and excellent with both of us. He went over everything so we were both comfortable, and we had the time of our lives. We saw coral and fish you just can't see back on the mainland! I'm 100% having him take us out again on another dive while we're on the island. Cannot recommend him enough, you'll be very happy with the experience!

Sammy was excellent. My wife and daughter were certified, but they didn’t have much experience. Not only were our dives excellent, but he was patient, kind, and taught them tricks that enhanced there skills and enjoyment. Can’t say enough good things!!

Sammy Scuba did such a great job taking our family out for 2 tanks of shore diving last week! We are a family of 4 including our 2 kids ages 12 and 14 who recently got their Jr. PADI certifications. Sammy did so well and getting us geared up with the right sized equipment that he provided. He gave us very clear directions on how to meet up and went over all details of our dives. He was thorough and patient to make sure everyone was comfortable and prepared to have a great diving experience. He is so familiar with the West Maui dive sites and how to work with conditions and mild currents, etc

Sammy is the bomb! He was able to take me and my grandma (PADI certified) and my two brothers and mother (discover divers) all out at once and we had a great time!
Care was taken beforehand to make everyone comfortable in the water. My mom who was a little more nervous than the rest of us, was put at peace from his experience with nervous first divers. If you are looking to do a discover dive at a reasonable price and get a quality dive master all to yourself, Sammy is your guy.
For us certified divers (me with ~20 dives and my grandma with 200+) we also had an equally great experience! Again

OMG! Talk about a GREAT experience, hands down, this is where you need sign up. My niece and I are were not certified; my brother is, however it has been YEARS since he's dived. So we all opted to do a discovery dive.
We originally were going to sign up with another company, only to find out that we would be with 20 other people and the cost was a bit outrageous. I recently spent some time in Maui with my girlfriend to celebrate our 3 year anniversary together. She loves the outdoors, especially the ocean, and out of all things that we had already planned and reserved for, we forgot to make reservations for scuba diving, which she absolutely wanted to do there! Sammy is fantastic!! We did a dive with him early in our trip (my husband has a few dives under his belt and I had never done scuba). We felt so confident with him and loved the experience so much we ended up deciding to do our scuba certification with Sam later in the week! We definitely will tell anyone coming to Maui to do a dive with Sammy and will go diving with him again when we return to Maui. Very cool guy and super fun to spend a morning or afternoon with.

Best experience on the island BY FAR!! I got to touch an adult octopus! Mark on my bucket list. Sammy and Josie were just fantastic, they made it so easy of an experience to enjoy. 5 first time divers, including my parents who are 60+. They were very informative, gave useful tips for getting in and out the water, made sure we were all comfortable, showed us awesome stuff under water, and had a good sense of humor to handle my crazy family. With no notice Sammy met us on a Sunday morning. Neither my son-in-law or I had any scuba experience. We did an off shore dive. His safety brief was short but thorough. We hit the water within 20 minutes. He ensured we both were comfortable breathing underwater and then guided us into the coral. It was a windy morning but we saw plenty of fish and a small eel. Look no farther than Sammy if you have little or no experience underwater. I will be certified next year and my first reservation will be with Sammy.

My wife and I learned to dive with Sammy. From beginning to end it was an absolutely amazing experience that exceeded all expectations. Sammy was cool and very patient while we worked out the jitters of learning to breathe and getting comfortable. By the 2nd dive(highly recommend) we were totally relaxed and comfortable so we could start enjoying it. Sammy was great. My wife was really hesitant to go diving but decided to go last minute and do the certification with my son and daughter. After she got comfortable on the first dive (Sammy was great at calming her down) she never looked back and we had two more amazing dive experiences as a family. I highly recommend Sammy. He was very accommodating for our schedule and took pictures for us as well (we left our go pro at home😕). We look forward to going diving again with Sammy the next time we are in Maui.

Visited Maui this last week with my boyfriend and his family. I was pretty terrified when they signed us up for a dive session, but they highly recommended Sam as the best dive instructor and overall dive experience they've ever had.

We had an amazing time diving with Sam! We've dove with him in previous years and have loved him so much that we keep coming back! This year we decided to get scuba certified and he made the whole process easy and enjoyable. Getting certified took us two days and now we can't wait to go on more dives with him! His attentiveness throughout each dive and the fact that every dive is private makes Sammy Scuba the high quality dive company that it is.
