Services
Over the past 47 years, Willow Wood has been Winnetka's leading play-based preschool. Our teaching philosophy is that kids learn problem-solving and other life skills by playing together with their peers and teachers. Moreover, our guided curriculum instills confidence and independence in our students.
Our dedicated faculty and teachers have an impressive combination of early childhood experience. In fact, all of our teachers hold a masters degree in an early childhood field. We encourage our teachers and aides to stay on the cutting edge of our field through continuing education. In addition, we retain the services of early childhood experts and consultants for periodic classroom observation.

At Willow Wood, we truly encourage and welcome parent participation and involvement. Our hope is that both you and your child will create lifelong friendships that last beyond your time at our school. There are many ways to get involved, from being present in the classroom to volunteering for special committees or accepting a position as a board member.
Students will explore a variety of science themes outside of the JK curriculum such as weather, magnets, sound & animals. These themes are drawn from the student's own interests. They have an opportunity for hands-on experience with a variety of science-related topics that are presented in an age-appropriate manner.
