Our hotel was built 20 years ago as the "crown jewel" of an aging entrepreneur who shaped the san jose hospitality industry 33 years ago before "silicon valley" was even an idea. The exciting process of restoring and rebranding the property is currently underway by his daughter, the former creative director of starwood's luxury brand group.
It's a cute and stylish place. A lot bigger than I expected. It came with everything you would need and it's next to a lot of local restaurants and stores. I will definitely be staying here again. Usually travelers will find this kind of property in the East or Midwest. Brick exterior, Federalist period furniture, British portraits and classical statuary. Add marble floors and bathrooms, and classic wallpaper, with chandelier lighting fixtures and you have something unusual in California.
We enjoyed it but this is a "boutique" hotel and is not at all full service. There are no doormen, room service, work out facilities, restaurant, or pool, sauna or jacuzzi. But you are also not paying for those amenities.
The "free" breakfast is a bit quirky. While the choices are ample, the $25 Magic

The Bristol Hotel, situated in the beautiful city of Campbell. You need elbow space, quietness, you’ll definitely get it here. The rooms are quite ample, the bathrooms are generously spacious in all rooms all done in marble with double sinks . Move over Keurig, the Nespresso cafe deliciousness is here. neighboring San Jose, Los Gatos, Saratoga . Close to freeways that’ll take you to Santa Cruz, San Francisco, Gilroy . Need a doctor, hospital, restaurants you hit the jackpot! All within 10 minutes walk or drive

Bristol Hotel is unexpectedly quirky and memorable in an incredibly convenient location to airport (15 min), Los Gatos (10 min) and Santa Cruz (30 min).
Stayed for a business trip and got the Apartment Suite. It was well worth the upgrade. Outside the suite had hand sanitizer - very convenient. There was separate desk and quaint dining table which made it much easier for work. Wifi was fast and strong. Bed was clean and comfy. The entry of the suite had a Nespresso machine (smelled delicious in the mornings), a mini fridge and console table with plenty of glassware and mugs. There was also a microwave

So far we enjoyed one quiet night here ! The lobby was elegant and welcoming , the front desk was ready to check us in, and the room was clean and ready for us. The bed and pillows were nice and clean, I loved the fluffy and firm pillows. Great water pressure in the shower too!

I really loved my stay here! The room was really clean and beautiful. It’s is a quiet area. There are fun statues and pictures to look at on the walls outside and inside the room. They have beautiful bathrooms. Beds were comfy. Our room even had soft comfy bathrobes and slippers! 😍 I would stay here again!

Rooms were big and spacious; my favorite were the enormous bathrooms which was very much appreciated with two little ones. I was skeptical about the pictures and the decor when booking online, but the overall theme of the hotel when experiencing it in person gave it a nice fancy feel. The staff when we first checked in was very polite and kind during our stay. The only negative thing I noticed during our stay was that housekeeping didn’t get done during the 2 nights that we were there...no biggie, if I really needed it cleaned I could have called to let them know, but we we were leaving the next

My wife and I have stayed here a few times over the years. It seemed "ok" then and the price was fair. This is why I was so surprised and disappointed when we stayed there recently.

It seems really run down now and filthy. Not even close to being worth what we paid and we actually considered leaving. Floors were disgusting, lights didn't work right, horrible bed, one pillow each, dirty bedspread, on and on. Have plenty more to say, but suffice it to say we won't be going back. See pics.

I stayed at this hotel...never went under the covers of the bed...used my own blanket on top and they charged me 30 bucks for bloody sheets that cant happen to someone that is past menopause...only means that the bed was still dirty! Gross RIP off!

Thin walls so you can hear everything your neighbors are doing, all night long. Plus every foot step on the second floor will echo through your room. Terrible for a place that thinks it's a three star hotel. Old beds, old bed spreads, with crappy pillows. No reason for old pillows and old scratchy sheets. The place is clean, but if you are not comfortable, and can't sleep, it does not matter. If you pay more than $150 a night, your wasting your money, the free breakfast is not that good. There are better places to sleep.

Staff was incredibly kind and helpful, room was nice, overall a great experience. The bed was a bit hard, and the sheets a bit scratchy, and the ac was very squeaky and loud. But all that pails in comparison to the overall night stay. I even got breakfast!!!!

I've stayed at Bristol Hotel basically every time I need to for work, and have had decent experiences up until now.

Upon checking in and entering the room I'll be staying at for the next two nights, I encountered:

1. Used water bottle on night stand
2. Used bar of soap in shower
3. Used lotion sample (whoever used it left the bottle squeezed
4. Someone's leftover eye cream sample on the bathroom shelf
5. Toilet paper use (as in: not folded as if new and pulled out from use)
6. Bathroom door broken/unhinged
7. Bed cover ripped on the corner
8. Spit or dried up mucous on the

My Big Fat Greek Wedding, hotel edition.

Unique decor, but at least it's not the same canned crap you see at other hotels. You can tell someone put a lot of thought and effort into it. It's clean, but they go a little heavy on the air fresheners. Fresh fruit at the breakfast buffet and Eggs Your Way (as long as that's scrambled). Nice price for the area.

The front desk person lied and said that they only had one room left and it is a suite, the four hundred dollar room's fridge didn't work, tv didn't work and only offered instant coffee.

The place is overpriced and run down.

First the good:
The very nicest hotel staff I have ever met in the bay area anywhere. What a great group of people. Check in was a breeze. I had a little trouble with my door key and they was a cleaning guy watching me struggle with it so he let me in and then came back with a new working key for me right away. It is silly old school. The decor, it is like something out of a corny old murder mystery. It was kind of fun. The breakfast was a notch above most complimentary breakfasts for sure. The bed was cozy.
The not so good: The view is kind of depressing, the place smells a little funny

If you have vision problems this place is very very nice. Big rooms, spacious bathroom, paintings and such on the walls and the chandeliers are nice. The bed is comfy but to be honest we chose the better of the two double beds in the room. This place needs a good scrub down more than an update. I dont care if its old, can't you wash it? See pictures.....

Old school yes, but clean, comfortable, and free parking. We stay in San Jose for work and the hotel prices are climbing every day. Thought we would try the Bristol that we found on our SW site.

Think old European rooms, wallpaper, cherrywood furniture, marble, statues and Queen Elisabeth portraits. Some iconic blasts from the past too: hair dryer attached to the wall, landline telephone by the toilet, desk and chair along with huge sofa in the room. We've stayed in hotels in Germany that were more modern for sure.
To top it off...once again I forgot my toothbrush. I walked down to the lobby

Two stars for service. Front desk was very friendly.

As for the hotel itself, I would not recommend due to uncleanliness. Definitely would not be coming back.

This quirky little hotel off is just that quirky. With its mostly Venetian decor with Greek statues, it could be considered charming to some or proof the Haunted Mansion exist to others. Every room is decorated with Venetian pictures and/or bust. Or your room could be guarded by David.

Pros: Breakfast served at 6:30am. Daily fresh towels. Chandeliers galore- in every room including the elevator. Mostly friendly staff like the thin, sharply dressed one. Piece of Berlin Wall in the dining room. It's on the 2nd floor.

Cons: Dirty. Carpets need to be steam-cleaned. There was caked-on stains

I had a last minute trip up to San Jose this week and needed a place to crash overnight with an early morning meeting. I looked up hotels in the area and found the Bristol Hotel to be fairly inexpensive and close. So I went ahead and booked after looking around for anything compatible and finding nothing. There were less appealing places that cost more and offered less, so in that regard, I made out great!

The inside of the hotel is quite luxurious if Victorian decor appeals to you. There are many chandeliers, paintings and sculptures throughout the building. Upon entering my guest room,
