I had an amazing time at Woodcrest Hotel.
John was very polite and attentive to our every need.
The beds were comfy, the room attendants were lovely and I enjoyed chatting with Estella at breakfast.

Had the pleasure of staying here in between moves and here’s my two cents. John is a rockstar. From my first call regarding my booking until I checked out, John (front desk/mngr) worked with me to accommodate my specific needs and always with respect and courtesy. Mngmt also gets a nod for catering to my specific request via John.
The absolutely trustworthy, capable and efficient housekeeping ladies are also what make this place stand out. Won’t go into specifics, but I’d trust them 100% and my room was immaculate every time.
The exterior and lobby aren’t indicative of the room quality

Review for Woodcrest Hotel

I have been lodging at the Woodcrest Hotel since the 2000s from a recommendation from a family friend in Cupertino. At the time, my mother and I traveled from Southern California to NorCal every weekend for my mother's work, and Woodcrest has essentially become my home away from home.

At the time, the hotel was being managed by an individual named Mr. Zhang, and then Rupert. Both were excellent managers, always friendly - and even one time Rupert cooked breakfast for me, even though I had woken up just a tad bit late - he cooked a fresh batch for me himself.

The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. After having an issue with one of the light switches in my original room, the staff quickly took care of this very minor inconvenience by upgrading me to a comfortable and clean suite room. The staff apologized for this small inconvenience and went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable in my new room. Additionally, the hotel is clean and quiet. Overall, a pleasant and satisfying stay!

Not many customers when I was there, but very clean, safe and quiet. Need the key to enter the front door. They got everything you need, it basically located inside the Apple Inc. so it’s very safe to walk there. Also, it got Chinese restaurant cross the street, very convenient! Great customer service as well:)
I’ll recommend to anyone come to San Jose:)

My husband and I stayed here on our way up to Portland. We weren't really looking forward to staying in Santa Clara - it was more of a stopping point on our way up North - but we were pleasantly surprised by this place. The gentleman who checked us in was very friendly, the room perfectly comfortable and the COVID Grab-and-Go breakfast adequate. For the price this place was above and beyond my expectations. I'm so glad to have found such a jewel of a hotel to stay!

We are definitely coming back to this hotel! We loved our beautiful renovated room...the renovation is high quality and not cheap looking. They took pride in how it was remodeled. Rupert at the front desk was also accommodating while I stayed for work and had to extend my reservation every couple of days during the week. Lots of desk space too...I have two laptops and still had alot of room. Thank you Woodcrest Hotel!

I don't know why ratings are so low but I would rate this a 5/5 given the price. This is a value deal y'all and no I'm in no way affiliated with this organization. I just think it's a hidden gem that more ppl need to know about.

The lobby was homey, halls were gracious and the room was consistent with the beauty of the last two. Nothing broken, heater/AC worked fine, low-key thought I had a kitchen when I stepped into the bathroom bc of how expanseful it was with it's microwave and shelves lol.

Had the cheapest option and even then it did not disappoint. Trust this missionary

Stayed overnight on a short business trip and this beautiful boutique hotel made me want to stay longer, something I never say about the many hotels I stay in. Great value for money, quality of rooms, curtesy of staff and really good breakfast all make this hotel shine. I really cannot find fault with anything about this hotel, it far exceeded all of my expectations and I shall most definitely be staying again as well as recommending to others.

What a cool place, top marks to management and staff

My boyfriend and I are in town and we're trying to find an affordable place to stay for the night. We found Woodcrest and at first we were skeptical because there were only two cars in the lot. We are so pleased with this hotel as the renovations are beautiful!
The lobby is not quiet finished but the upper floors are nice. The room is spacious and clean, and the bathroom is especially pleasing. We will definitely be back -- 5 stars for this stay!

The room was excellent and breakfast was decent better than most places. The interior of lobby and a bit of outside has an update coming it's way, but the halls on the upper floors and rooms are gorgeous. Very tranquil feeling walking through the place once you get upstairs, everything was quiet. The gentleman and the front desk was very kind and considerate. New management is definitely taking steps to build this place into what it can be. Very beautiful bathroom also. And the shower was great. I will definitely have this place on my list next time I'm on a staycation or if have friends

I was a little cautious about staying here because of the reviews and what coworkers had told me. But I am so glad I did! The renovations they have done are beautiful! The room was clean and modern, the staff was wonderful, and the breakfast was good. They are still finishing renovations for an exercise room and media room which I can only imagine will be great. If you like boutique hotels with an intimate and charming feel, this is the place to stay. I'll definitely be staying here again.

2 1/2 STARS.......... I read the reviews before booking this hotel, and I did not find it as bad as other people did. I had trouble finding a room in any hotel, as this part of the world is crazy with business people and very high room rates (because the company pays them, not the customer). We decided to stay here, as it was only one night. Maybe it helped that we had the ONLY 2 Queen bed room in the whole place ~ everything else was 1 King Bed. Yes, this place is in need of a total up-grade, and they are remodeling.....slowly. Things were old looking, but not dirty. Free parking.The breakfast

This place was kinda creepy. There were no ghost sounds or lights going on and off but there was about 2 maybe 3 rooms occupied on a weekend. This hotel is not far from the Levi stadium. So yeah I expected there to be more than 2 people here. Can't give this hotel a 1 star because it was alright but most definitely not worth $100 a night. This place was a perfect hotel in the 70's.

My wife and I stayed here a little over a month ago. There were good and bad things about the place. It helped that our expectations were fairly low to begin with due to other Yelp reviews.

Good:
* Lower weekday prices than other nearby hotels
* Room and public areas were clean
* Free guest parking
* Free WiFi (though that's pretty common these days)
* Some small in-room updates

Bad:
* Poorly maintained facilities
* Bed size wasn't the size we reserved
* Room key card stopped working after the first day (had to have it replaced)
* Overall room quality was poor, though it probably could

This place needs a lot of update and remodeling.

-the TV
-the room key cards that don't work half of the time
-the bathroom
-beds, sheets, etc...
-shower heads are like prison showers.(not that I've ever been in prison but it looks like it)

I'm only giving two stars because of the complimentary breakfast and free water. Other than that, this hotel is terrible.

I've been in motels, Inns, and hotels that are a lot better and nicer than this.

This hotel is so depressing. The room smells like dirty feet and it has to be because the carpeting is so old. It is worn down and obviously dirty. The decor in the rooms is from the 80s but they updated the lobby and exterior to fool you. And they charged $180 a night on a Sunday night! Only 129 on the weekends because they said they can charge more for the out of town business people during the week. Do not be fooled by the nice exterior. This place is rough and I just need to get through the night .

If u could give 0 stars I would. This place has a terrible order, is in desperate need of a make over and is lacking staff to actually run the place. This place should be bulldozed and a Hilton or hyatt put up in its place. Do not stay here if you are looking for a decent place.

This hotel is comfortable and friendly. The people are always so very nice, you feel right at home.
It is older style-very nice! Windows that open, real wood, wide hallways with alcoves. Free breakfast has meat, eggs, vegetables (!) And pastries that seem to be from a better quality bakery than most places. One free drink every night!
Always clean, well cared for. Nice center courtyard with trees, small tables.
PS: I love the soft bed sheets!
Downside: WiFi has not been very good. No exercise room, but nice neighborhood to walk/run.

Offers more privacy than a homeless shelter but with less amenities. Reminds one of hotels in third-world countries.

I completely agree with the previous review--The Woodcrest Hotel is dated and dirty.

Pros:

-Quiet. Most likely because no one else was staying there. Phone next to the toilet?

Cons:

-Dirty. The bathroom was disgusting. Dirt was caked between the floor tiles. The bottom of the bathtub was caked with some sort of sticky yellow stuff. I covered the tub and bathroom floor with towels. Wires and dust bunnies hung from the bathroom ceiling. The carpet was stained throughout the
