Dr. Tod Thompson is a graduate of Indiana University School of Optometry, and studied Mechanical Engineering as an undergraduate.
He has passed the board exam for Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease, and did a clinical rotation at the VA Medical Center in Cleveland, OH. Before opening the office in Plainfield, he practiced in Greenwood. He and his wife, Amy, live in Plainfield, and enjoy being involved at Plainfield Christian Church.

Dr. Tod Thompson is thorough, patient, professional, and friendly, and he demonstrates what it means to be an eye doctor who truly cares about his patients. I would give a 10-star rating if I could. Dr. Thompson is fantastic! I’ve seen quite a few optometrists over the years due to frequent moves, and I found Dr. Thompson to be one of the most thorough and accurate I’ve probably ever seen. He took the time to explain everything he did and ensured no question was left unanswered. Pricing is extremely fair. I would highly recommend this office!

Dr Thompson is a true knowledgeable professional. If you want someone that will help your vision problems with knowledge and care I couldn't recommend him highly enough.
I have been wearing glasses / contacts now for over 20 years and he has been great at solving problems I have had for a long time. I have since advised my mother to visit him, who has many issues with her eyes, and she has come away stating he is the first to truly help her see better and with less issues.
I highly advise my family to visit him for their eye related issues, not sure of a better way to show how highly I suggest

Dr. Thompson does a very thorough exam, is patient and takes time to answer any questions. Sandy is a wonderful optician. She knows how to help you select your frames and spends time to look up sizes if the frames you like don't fit. There is no pressure to purchase. Although they do offer upgrades such as anti reflective coating, it's not pushed to increase a sale.

I have astigmatism and wear contact lenses. I have been using toric lenses for a few years now. For the past two years I have struggled with local optometrists, including a prestigious Eye Center in the area. They just could not dial in the correct prescription for the lenses. It got so frustrating because I could not see properly. Out of desperation I started searching for someone who could help because I felt that there had to be a solution.

I haven't been to the optometrist in over 10 years. Decided to get checked out since I was having some issues with distance (blame that cursed computer screen). My hubby went here so told me this place was really great. The doctor is super friendly a d explains everything well. They take retinal photos which for the science nerd in me, was super cool to look at. In the end, I still have 20/20 vision (whoot whoot), and just need to stop staring at my computer all day (humph!).

We have been going to Dr. Thompson for our eye care for about 10 years. He has always taken very good care of our family. He has always taken time to make sure we know our choices and options and then lets us make the decisions that are right for us. I have been to eye doctors that are very pushy about selling glasses or contacts but that is not the case here. If you need an eye doctor, look no further.
