Services
IR detects the temperature based upon wavelength of the light emitted by the object (longer wavelength, colder). IR, therefore, does not show the temperature of objects that reflect light, (glass, shiny metal, light colored objects in direct sunlight). IR, does not "see through walls", but only displays the very slight differences in surface temperature of the wall.

If Steve sees it, no matter how minor, he reports it. His thoroughness and attention to detail are truly extraordinary. He uses modern technology like drones and thermal imaging to give the most thorough inspections possible. He goes through what a normal inspection covers and then goes way beyond. This is someone who points out that a step up is 8" instead of the 7 3/4" it should be to avoid tripping, that the incandescent lights are drawing a lot of power, and that the refrigerator has a small dent. He delivered the 40+ page report with pictures mere hours after completing the inspection. And

Steve did an amazing job on a old house inspection. I have owned 5 houses and by far this inspection was the most detailed. The infrared pictures along with the detail was very helpful. He didn’t miss a thing I would recommend him to anyone looking for a complete , detailed and flawless inspection. I asked Steve if he had a minute after he inspected the house the following day to review some of my concerns and he spent almost an hour on the phone with me answering every question and concern. Steve is an absolutely great home inspector. I actually had the pleasure of using his services twice. The first house he inspected was a very old home that needed a ton of work. However, Steve's detailed report not only listed what was in need of repair or replacing, but quite often gave suggestions on how to fix it. This was in addition to his explanations on site. We ended not going with the first home because it was just far too much to tackle, but Steve never steered us one way or another, he simply sticks to the facts. Steve did an excellent job during our home inspection. He left no stone, window, appliance unexplored! He fit his schedule into ours which happened to be very hectic right after putting an offer down on a house. Corresponding with him by email was quick and thorough. He was able to inspect our house within an extremely short notice! The inspection was timely and the report was exhaustive. This was our first home purchase and I didn't know what to expect during the inspection. I ended up getting everything I needed and more from Steve Gaudet. I recommend him to everyone.
