All tiered cakes are priced per serving. Prices start at $2.50 per serving for round cakes and $2.75 per serving for any other shaped cakes. All fondant cakes start at $3.50 per serving. The following flavors and fillings are the most popular, but do not hesitate to ask for your favorite flavor! For our bridal cakes, the top tier (first anniversary cake) is free of charge (for weddings over 100). We also offer a wide assortment of cake tops. If you purchase a tiered cake from us, the topper is discounted 20%.

Great cake but not worth the poor service. Surprised by a 4% surcharge on credit vs. cash when picking up the cake, and more so by the manager who dismissed my concern by stating he had a a sign on the door (which doesn't help if you're not aware of the charge). He was extremely rude throughout my visit and I am well motivated to take my business elsewhere.

Loved the cake ! Loved the staff ! I got an 8 in Sesame Street birthday cake for my daughters first birthday. I sent a pic to the staff and they literally made it exactly how I asked. It was beautiful, got a lot of compliments on the cake. But the reason I chose to write this review because I was blown away by how great the cake taste . NEVER had a custom or store brought cake that tasted this good . It’s a must have !!!!

They did an amazing job! Everywhere else said they couldn’t do metallic frosting, but NOT Cakes By Karen. The pic on the left is what I gave as an example and the one on the right is what they created. It was even more beautiful than the sample one AND delicious. It exceeded my expectations and was so reasonably priced. I will continue to give them my business and refer family & friends. One more thing, the staff is just so friendly and eager to help. Thanks for making a beautiful cake for my daughter!

I loved this place! I am writing my review long after the cake is gone. My sons birthday was March 17 , I accidentally found this place and I am so happy I did. They are fast, inexpensive, great quality, excellent customer service exactly what i wanted. To say the least In the middle of a pandemic I was impressed with the service.

Delivers THE BEST gluten-free, dairy-free cakes than anyone else! Fluffy, tasty, light cakes. I have been using Karen and staff for years!!! Never once disappointed even under a time crunch. The ingredients for the cakes are expensive but for special occasions worth it! Any occasion can be marked by a delicious cake beautifully decorated. Couldn’t find a place to make some cupcakes for my niece’s party last minute. Called Cakes by Karen on the chance they might be able to. Every time I called they were awesome. They told me to come by and see the decorations they could put on the mermaid cupcakes. They made me some awesome looking mermaid cupcakes and everyone said they were tasty too. Can’t thank Cakes by Karen enough.

Highly recommend! I ordered a cake for my 25th year anniversary, I told them more or less how I wanted it decorated and must say they outdid themselves, not only was the cake beautiful but delicious, our guests kept asking me where I got my cake from. This is my new go to bakery, wish I had known about this place sooner.

Wow! Wow! Wow!!! Cakes by Karen is the best bakery experience I've had in a long time! They are very polite over the phone. Very attentive! Very nice clean place! They did exactly what I asked, it came out perfectly! I gave a photo and they copied it exactly! I am beyond pleased! Oh and the cake was moist soft extremely yummy for the first time there is no cake left to take home

Biggest thank you to cakes by Karen. Came here to have a two tier dino cake for our son's 5th bday party. I provided an idea and picture of what we would like the cake to look like. It came out Amazing!!! Bottom tier was chocolate with strawberry filling, top tier was Banana with Fresh Banana filling. We got rave reviews on the Banana at the party. We couldn't be more happy with the outcome. The cake was the perfect shade of green, as the birthday boy wanted a green cake. Lol the staff was amazing. The only reason i even gave them 1 star is because the cupcakes tastes great. However, Cakes by Karen does not stand behind there product. I ordered almost everything for my daughters sweet table from this bakery and had to pre-pay for everything. 2 of my desserts were made wrong. When i spoke with the owner she she apologized and then said to me that she knew that these items were wrong and sent them anyway. She said that she already paid the girl that made them so i could not have a refund. REALLY? They do not care about the customer only their own profit. They take no responsibly for their employees

Earlier this month, my 2nd son was turning 1, so of course, wanted to order his cakes from Cakes by Karen. Originally, I wanted 2, round 14" cakes & a smash cake. After placing my order, I got an email that the price would be almost $250!!! I was literally SHOCKED. I canceled 1 of my 14" cakes, & still ended up paying almost $140! I even sent an email

It was my first time getting a cake made for someone. I seen them on a google search in my area and I thought I'd give them a try. They did such an amazing job! It was near perfect. The cake tasted as good as it looked. They were flexible, and professional. I had a birthday cake made, and my fiance loved it. You won't be disappointed.

Ordered a cake here for my brother's birthday. They did an excellent job and made a really awesome cake. The order, however, ended up being wrong, despite me specifically asking for something & being told it was possible. It really wasn't that big of a deal-cake is cake. But I could imagine that would be an issue for some people. Also, when we picked up our cake we bought some cookies to use as party favors, and we didn't realize until we had left that she had packed up the wrong cookies.

Cakes by Karen is simply the best around! I plan many events in downtown Chicago and her cakes are some of the best I have ever tasted! They look amazing and taste amazing. I gave the bakery a photo of what I wanted for my wedding and the cake turned out better than I could have expected. Honestly her cakes are moist and rich. I advise all brides to go with them. You can tell they use quality ingredients and always deliver a beautifully decorated cake.

I first went to Cakes by Karen in high school for paczkis, and when it came time to decide on a wedding cake vendor in 2011, they were my first place I went to for cake tasting, and I was sold. We didn't want anything too wild for the design, just a three-tier cake. We ended up with a gorgeous 3 tier with flowers in our wedding colors. The cake was delicious- French vanilla cake with creme brûlée filling and white cake with their raspberry filling- all with their signature buttercream. The cake was delicious, and even was good after being in a freezer for a year on our anniversary.
