As a highly trained and experienced audiologist, Stephen has practiced in Southern California since 2000. He has fine-tuned his skills as an expert diagnostician of otologic disorders and dispenser of hearing aids.
Once your hearing loss has been identified, it is essential that you become informed of all of the options available to help improve your communication. There is a common misconception that hearing aids are the "cure all" for hearing loss. In reality, improving communication involves a long term rehabilitative process in which the hearing aid is only part.
There are several steps that are part of a hearing aid evaluation. If you suspect that you might need a hearing aid, you will first need to have a hearing evaluation. At the time of the hearing evaluation, a case history will be taken to determine how much your hearing problem impacts your day-to-day life as well as the lives of your family.

I am 81 years old and have been a patient of Dr Kirsch for over 20 years. My prior experience with audiologists has left me very unhappy..It has been the good Doctors patience , knowledge and giving all the time I need to get my questions and concerns resolved to lead me to this belated reccomendation. My prior experience in the medical field has given me the ability to see quality,skill, and caring that DR Kirsch delivers. If I could give ten stars I would. Stephen Kirsch is my HERO, he gave my hearing back. Stephen is VERY knowledge when it come to hearing loss. I know Stephen for more than 10 years, He was patient with me ( Not trying to sale me ) after 10 years I admit to myself I need help hearing and Stephen was the right person to turn 2. Dr. Kirsch is not my first audiologist and hopefully he is my last! I have been seeing Dr.Kirsch for about three years now and he has withstood the test of time. Dr. Stephen Kirsch is the most accomplished, talented and hardworking audiologist I have encountered in my life for my grandmom. My grandmother, 97 years old, who is based in mumbai, india has severe hearing loss on both sides. We consulted 2 audiologists in india with poor outcomes. The best ever My 92 year old mother who only hears
In one ear has a hearing aid because her only ear that hears needs one we have gone to many hearing doctors and they never seem To help her she moved to SAnta Monica and we were referred to Dr kirsch he is amazing he was very kind and professional and patient with my mom he took ear wax out of her ear that no other doctor knew to do or bother to do
So great she hasn't heard this well in years Wow he is spectacular

I was having some unusual pain in my right ear and was in the market for some custom earplugs. I tried Kirsch audiology based on Yelp's recommendations, and was absolutely not disappointed.
Stephen started our appointment almost exactly on time, and immediately gave off the vibe of someone who loves his craft. This guy was born to help people with their hearing, and is one of those specialists who go out of their way to explain everything as clearly as possible.
He ran his battery of tests and assured me that I had excellent hearing, and then talked with me about the pain I was having

This is a quality operation - husband & wife Audiologists who are professional, focused & competent! As a Veteran with diminishing hearing ability I was losing faith that I could regain an ability to not just hear, but understand those around me. I have only been going to Dr Kirsch for a couple of months but I cannot recommend him too highly. He is an absolute pleasure to work with, taking lots of time with you, explaining everything. He is extremely knowledgeable and I have learned things about my hearing problems no one else explained to me. I am delighted to be under his care.

I've been seeing Stephen now for about 15 years. The first time I walked into his office was by chance... I was visiting a nearby business and curiosity got the better of me. I briefly spoke to his secretary who said he was busy so I thanked her, walked out the door, and was nearly halfway down the block when Stephen caught up to me.
I was 33 at the time and had spent my entire life without hearing aids. I always knew my hearing was bad but had learned to con my way through life by reading lips/body language, or simply guessing answers and nodding, etc.

I put off going to an audiologist for 3 yrs. since moved here because I'd gotten a hearing device in DC metro area where we moved from. I knew I needed a hearing check-up--& probably a better device, & found Kirsch Audiology on Yelp. I'm so grateful I finally did because I think Steve (Kirsch) is terrific, and I don't say that lightly.

Dr. Kirsch made the process of getting a hearing aid so easy and pleasant! I had been putting it off for a while, fearing that hearing aids were difficult and unpleasant to adapt to. I'm so glad he proved me wrong!

I have always raved about Stephen Kirsch to anyone who has a hearing problem on how he has helped me through the years. However, this has been a banner year! I lost most of my hearing to a medication that I was allergic to. And through pain staking research and patience he has been able to recover 50% of my hearing. It has made a new life for me! If you are looking for a hearing aid provider/audiologist you do not have to look any further than Dr. Kirsch. He is the top professional in his field and also very caring and concerned with my well being. I have been looking for the last 9 months to find a solution to my hearing problem with zero success until I met Dr. Kirsch. He has been extremely careful and professional in providing me with the best hearing aid to help me feel good again. This is your guy! I went to a number of different places before choosing to stick with Dr. Kirsch and I'm so glad I did. On a practical level, he was able to work with my small budget and I'm really happy with the hearing aid I got - but it wasn't just that. It would be hard to find an audiologist as competent, caring and professional as Stephen Kirsch. I've been going to him since he opened his practice in Santa Monica, and it's always a pleasure to see him. He gives you his full attention when you are there. I have tiny ear canals that are difficult to fit with aids, and Stephen has done an outstanding job of finding the right aids at the right price. In addition to all that, he is extremely patient and kind. They just don't come any better!
