Established in 1938, Southampton Yacht Club is positioned on a tributary off Shinnecock Bay, with an incredible and pristine view of the undeveloped shore of the Shinnecock Reservation. SYC is a participatory club with racing, social, cruising, and other sailing related activities which appeal to sailors of different skills, experience, and interests.
The Club promotes high quality, friendly competition, good sportsmanship and camaraderie among sailors. Additionally the Club maintains a very active junior program. Southampton Yacht Club is a membership of sailors and boaters along with their families who share a common interest in sailing and boating.

Services
Located in Southampton, New York, the SouthamptonYacht Club is home to a variety of members with one thing in common - a love of boats. Situated on Shinnecock Bay, the Southampton Yacht Club is the perfect place for anyone with a love of the water. Southampton Yacht Club was established in 1937, and included a group of 44 adults and 33 children at the first roll call.
If you are interested in joining Southampton Yacht Club, please contact the Membership Chair, Michael Shaheen. A member in good standing may nominate a candidate for membership to the Club. Each candidate for membership shall be proposed and seconded, must be personally known by both the proposer and the seconder, and prior to acceptance into the Club, must be known to at least five members of the Board of Governors.
Sailing education and on the water instruction are the centerpieces of the SYC Junior Sailing Program. Significant time is spent on the water in closely supervised activities including fundamental points of sail, practice drills, and sailboat races intended to build confidence and teach safe boat handling.
As always we will meet on Wednesdays coincidental to the Lightning Series.which on most nights is followed by a terrific barbecue. SYC has boats to provide, or you can bring your own boat. Fees will remain the same at $400 for the Season. A PFD and whistle is required. Instructors will be on hand to get everyone started, follow you on the water, and coach along the way.
