Services
The Southold Yacht Club has been promoting a love of sailing in our beautiful waterways for over 80 years. We are a small family-oriented club open to all who have a love of sailing. Our mission is to make sailing accessible to the North Fork community and, therefore, we keep dues and program fees at an affordable level for families and individuals.
Our fundraising events at Southold Yacht Club have become timeless traditions that the children look forward to year after year. From first mates through teen years fun is always to be had by all at these occasions. Movie Night Come see the SYC clubhouse transformed into a cinema. A great movie is shown appropriate for young and old and endless popcorn and ice cream abound.
Founded by a group of young sailors in the early 1930's, the Southold Yacht Club was formally organized in 1938 to serve the North Fork's growing community of professional and amateur boaters. On Memorial Day that year, the Southold Yacht Club and Southold Park Commission sponsored festivities to inaugurate the club at Founders Landing.
Thank you for supporting our mission to make sailing accessible to the North Fork Community. Southold Yacht Club is committed to helping everyone enjoy the waterfront. We want families to feel welcome and try to keep our membership dues and Junior Sailing Program fees affordable for everyone who wants to sail so we rely heavily on donations to keep sailing accessible to all in the community.
The Junior Sailing Program is one of the best, most comprehensive junior sailing programs available on the North Fork. Twelve hours a week of instruction are offered for eight weeks during July and August with excellent student/instructor ratios. Our children learn the beauty and fun of sailing, and for those interested, racing skills are nurtured to a high degree.

You can't spend the summers on the North Fork as a kid and not learn to sail. This has been a long summer tradition for both summer communties residents and locals in Southold. Located on a open sandy beach next to the Goose Creek Town Beach. The programs are set by age group and the kids get to learn sailing skills from a group of instructors.
