Gaby's Latin Flavors

Well we were very hungry when we decided to try this Mexican restaurant. There were positive reviews, but I would not agree with some reviews as this place was not so good. We ordered our food and sat down to wait. We asked for napkins and plastic utensils and paper plates, and the owner right away did not want to give us any because she did not want to waste . We were a party of more than 10 people and she gave me 2 plates and 4 napkins . How are we supposed to eat the food ? Then, we needed salsa and more chips just like any other Mexican restaurant would provide. We offered to pay more, but

Stumbled across this spot when taking a day trip up to Big Bear. The owner was super friendly and helpful. She took every precaution to make us feel safe during this pandemic. They have ample outdoor seating and plenty of parking outside. Food was great and the beer was cold! Highly recommend if you're in Big Bear and in the mood for this kind of food!

We got the family Carnitas package with the Avocado Salad plus the cheese dip.
Usually Carnitas are either too fatty or not cooked right (usually dry) but that wasnt the case here at Gaby's...the Carnitas were PERFECTLY seasoned & cooked!
The Avocado Salad was great! A great amount of Avocado with not a lot of filler which makes it worth it. Instead of how other people do it by adding fillers like lettuce, cabbage, etc.

Me and my friends were visiting big bear and we spotted this place while driving thru, we thought it was really good!! The ladies were very nice, I think one of them was the owner herself. I got the chile relleno enchiladas which were delicious, and it came with rice and beans on the side which were also really good. If your in big bear try this place out for lunch or somthin!

I just want to first off saying SUPPORT LOCAL! We came in with a party of 15 people which can be overwhelming anywhere. We were greeted by the owner who openly accepted us in with love and joy. We waited around 30mins due to our party size and we're pleased to experience the Bolivian fusion that Gaby had to offer.

The food was excellent. The dishes were each handle with care, cooked to perfection, and provide us with new insights on bomb cooking.

Gaby's is by far the most flavorful, tasty Latino food in Big Bear. Where waits could be hours in other places at Gaby's the only wait

Great mexican food with a bolivian twist. Carnitas plate was very good. Had nachos as appetizer which was great also. Washed it down with a couple mojitos. Highly recommended!!!

It took me 42 years to try Bolivian food and it was worth the wait! The food at Gaby's is by far the best in Big Bear. Let me add that O have been to pretty much every eating establishment in Big Bear and most is mediocre at best. Fire Rock has the best burgers, Saucy Mama's has the best pizza but Gaby's has Latin and Flavor on lock down! It is latin food made with love and not just spruced up with spices. The portions are generous and the flavors are unique and very satisfying. Their carne asada is amazingly seasoned and different that any mexican food joint you've ever had

The food is absolutely delicious. Everything you order is made from scratch on the spot, and the chef, Gaby, gets fresh ingredients twice a week. The Bolivian food menu is delicious and genuine, and the Mexican is as well. Absolutely filling, highly recommend!!!

The food here is amazing!! We got torta de carnitas and the house burger and they were both phenomenal. The cheese dip is also delicious and spicy. Definitely recommend and will go back when we’re in the area

This hands down the best restaurant in Big Bear. The owner is awesome and very caring. Her food shows her passion and heritage. Will definitely be going there everytime I go to Big Bear

Excellent food, depressing atmosphere.
We have been there Wednesday night. No waiters, order at the counter, pick up 20 minutes later. food is being served in to go styrofoam containers. Lady with Bolivian roots who run service is nice but extremely cautious after losing 3 of her vaccinated relatives in Bolivia and that's understandable. Bolivian dishes are a bit on expensive side, but are worth it imho. Me and my friend were both very satisfied with the quality. Not sure how does it look on weekend but i would order again, but probably just to go.

Gaby's was another restaurant on our places to try while staying in Big Bear. When we called in our order, the sweet owner picked up and gave us her recommendations on what to get:

Cheese Dip
Palta Salad (Avocado Salad)
Carnitas
Chorrellana
Chicken Tenders with Fries

She told us to head to the parking lot around back to the pick-up window when we arrived. There are some tables outside to dine at, but we decided to go back to the house to enjoy our meal.

On the way home, we decided to eat the one thing that was the most handy to grab--the fries. My goodness, I'm not sure what seasoning

This is a small business where you will likely get served by the owner. You will also get to try Bolivian food which isn't all that common.

They weren't open for indoor dining when I came by (mid-October) although they do have a patio. No idea when they plan to open the inside to guests.

The menu was pretty large and divided into clear sections. The Bolivian food is specifically delineated in case you wanted to try one of those items.

I am new in Big Bear. I decided to try Gaby's. It was THE WORST restaurant experience I've ever had and I love to eat out. I love Mexican food the most. Gaby made me a dish that was supposed to have lots of veggies and I came back to ask for more (since it is a veggie meal) and she yelled at me in front of other guests. She accused me of eating them all & coming back up to her. Why would I do that? Another thing is it is a trashy dirty property.
I was looking around it and junk is piled upstairs & on the decks. A turn off.

Great tasting plates. As an appetizer we got the cheese dip. Then ordered the carne asada torta with fries and we also had the Chile relleno with a cheese enchilada. And for drinks we got the margarita and the sangria. The kids got chicken tenders. And I'd recommend it all.

Came her by accident but fall in love for a reason.
I hate very long reviews but let me tell you. We try to avoid tourist traps and I didn't know what to expect. But oh boy the food is like home made and very good.
I was lucky to meet the owner herself. She was such a generous and nice lady from Bolivia.
Everything was really good.
I had tostada, my daughter kids taco plate, other daughter a burger, my som had Picante de pollo and my wife had veggie burrito ... everything so different and again tasty!!

Excellent veggie burrito! Best vegan veg burrito I've ever had. The red sauce (wet) is a must! Loved the veggies; zucchini, spinach, asparagus, onion, tomato, carrot, bell peppers... and I'm sure I'm missing some. So many and so much flavor. Also make sure you try the avocado salad. It's like vegan ceviche! So fresh and light with chips and salsa. My BF got the chicken tacos he says "delicious". Customer service is also great - very helpful and friendly. I will be back! Thank you Gaby!

Gaby is still doing it right. Brought my wife in for lunch and she enjoyed all the interesting dishes.
Wife and both tapped out half way through and saved for dinner.

If you are looking for home made Latin flavors, you will find it here. Everything is cooked to order and fresh.

While my wife prefers their veggie salads (Palta Salad) and burritos, I prefer meat (lomo montado).
Bolivian dishes are stuff you can't find anywhere else.

I also enjoy small chars with the owner and main chef, Gabby.

Highly recommended.

Where to start..authentic bolivian delicious dishes..we ordered a variety of sides..churrcasco (grilled marinated tender steak with a fresh salad and picante de pollo (spicy chicken and bolivian rice..which is a type of white rice with quinoa, tasted likea stewed baked chicken with peas)...avacado salad (palta salad), cheese enchiladas, carnitas, jarritos (tamarindo flavor drink), picante de pollo (spicy chicken) can't say enough how delicious and flavorful all our dishes where...the owner came out to check in us..she was super sweet..we drove all the way from Arizona to big bear and we

I ordered enchiladas and my husband ordered a wet burrito. I knew it wasn't authentic Mexican cuisine and was ready to be disappointed. But we were blown away by their take on the Mexican cuisine, the food was amazingly delicious. I can't wait to go back and try other dishes on the menu (hopefully this time I can try something Bolivian)

An absolute must on your trip! My husband and I were looking to try a different cuisine during our Big Bear stay and Gaby's Latin Flavors caught our eye on yelp and ended up catching our hearts. We ordered via phone for a pickup and a very sweet lady who I'm assuming is Gaby took our order. She was helpful and answered our questions happily. When we arrived it was just her and a younger man running the whole production during this time! It was clear that Gaby was cooking and the younger man was doing everything else he could. Meaning if you want this delicious Bolivian food you will he
