Craddock Terry Hotel & Event Center
Travel is about creating experiences and memories. Our hotel is located in historic downtown Lynchburg, VA along the James River. Fabulous views, trails and quaint downtown shopping can all be found steps outside your door. What was once a turn-of-the-century shoe factory has been transformed into a one-of-a-kind luxury hotel.

Witness a unique blend of original brick warehouse architecture and chic modern style and historical artifacts from the heyday of the Craddock-Terry Shoe Corporation. Whether you are looking for an inspired meal or the coziest overnight stay in Central Virginia, the Craddock Terry Hotel is "always the perfect fit."
Services
In 1888, The Craddock Terry Shoe Company was founded by John W. Craddock. The shoe company began a legacy in Lynchburg and grew into the 5th largest shoe company in the world. The original Southland Factory was situated in the empty lot adjacent to Waterstone Pizza on Jefferson Street. With rapidly increasing demands, the Southland Factory was unable to keep up with orders with just one factory.
The Craddock Terry Hotel and Event Center staff takes pride in providing the highest quality personal services for every event. From the initial planning through execution, we will assist you in every step. At our Lynchburg hotel, your group will enjoy superior service and exceptional cuisine. Shoemakers American Grille is our onsite, upscale dining restaurant and is the exclusive caterer for our Event Center.
Southern hospitality and personalized service abounds in our shoe-themed boutique hotel located in the historic downtown River District. For regional business and leisure travelers seeking a break from the norm, our urban chic Lynchburg hotel is a warm, sophisticated retreat that sparks curiosity. We win the hearts of our guests by enveloping them with comfort and immersing them in a story.
Our retreat is located along the James River in downtown Lynchburg, Virginia. We are close to the Amtrak train station and routes 29 and 460. Lynchburg Regional Airport (LYH) is just six miles from the hotel, and Roanoke Regional Airport (ROA) is only 45 miles away. We do not sell your data to third parties.
Pets are family so you and your pup are welcome to stay with us at the Craddock Terry Hotel. When reserving a room, please let us know that you are traveling with your pet. We will make the necessary arrangements to ensure the best accommodation for you and your friend (maximum two pets). A small one-time, non-refundable pet fee of $50 will be applied.

Dated interiors. Awkward room layouts. Ill fitting doors provide very little privacy. (*Odd and dated logo for a company that made men’s shoes.)

There is a train the runs nearby; otherwise 5star! Clean♻️, welcoming🐾, and creative—unlike other hotels in the area.

Beautiful hotel! I love the historic architecture of the building, an old shoe factory, and the history behind the property. I also loved the high ceilings and windows! Working from the hotel was a treat in front of the giant windows. The hotel was decorated for Christmas, which was beautiful! The bed was super comfortable, and even with Covid, we were able to select our continental breakfast selections and they were brought to the room in the morning. Great hotel! I would stay again. The only reason this isn't a 5 is because of the location-- I don't think it's in a very good area for walking

Historic building with some beautiful designs... great place to stay. I saw a lot of dogs, so they are pet friendly.. try the restaurant in the hotel. Their fries and salads are bomb!

Definitely one of Virginia's jewels. A must stay when visiting Lynchburg – or not! My wife and I drive down from northern Virginia for getaways. Quaint. Period architecture. Modern conveniences. Sleep in a luxurious bed with massive wooden beams directly overhead. Lots of brick and stone. Exquisitely renovated former shoe factory turned hotel smack in the middle of old town Lynchburg. Highly recommended.👠👠👠👠👠

Beautiful atmosphere. Nice room. Sweet and very professional receptionist. I wanted to give this 5 stars but there was blood on the comforter in our room( not from us) and we were placed next to the parking lot ( hoping for a view) where the car alarms went off all night and there was a dog barking at 5:00 a.m. next door which the hotel cannot help. Wanted a quiet night kid free and to sleep through the night for our anniversary. We go out once a year and have always wanted to stay here but my experience was about the same as any other decent hotel in Lynchburg.
