Dr. Denis Humphreys is a Sparks native who received his undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree in Pre-Medicine from the University of Nevada, Reno in 1970. He attained his doctorate of Optometry in 1974. Since his graduation in 1974, Dr. Humphreys has been in private practice in Sparks, Nevada. During a comprehensive vision and eye health evaluation at Family Eyecare Associates, you will find our care not only personal and caring, but very technologically driven and state-of the art. Blood Pressure testing - Hypertension, or high blood pressure, can have many systemic effects including hardening and narrowing of the vessels within the body and the back of the eye (or retina).
At Family Eyecare Associates, all of our doctors are Board Certified in the Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease and pride ourselves in our ability to comprehensively care for our patients.
We are extensively trained in medical Eyecare services, which include red eye treatments, foreign body removal, inflammatory eye disease diagnosis and treatment, chronic dry eye disease management and treatment, all management of ocular surgery with the appropriate specialist colleagues, ocular trauma evaluation and treatment, full glaucoma care and management, and more.

All our opticians are happy to help in your selection.
At Family Eyecare Associates, we want to ensure you get the best possible vision and comfort from your contact lenses. We use diagnostic lenses to determine proper fit and vision prior to ordering your supply. This process is often done the same day, but may take several visits to finalize. Once your contact lens prescription is finalized, you may order your supply.
If you are interested in contact lenses and you've never tried them, or if you have tried contact lenses in the past, but weren't satisfied with them, now is the time to schedule a contact lens evaluation. With improved materials and designs, almost anyone is able to wear contacts comfortably. Our contact lens technician has over 30 years experience.

I've been going to Dr. Cooper since 2004.
She's an Amazing person who's polite and kind. She's always been there for me. Always professional . She's been taking care of my eyes this whole time. And my whole family now comes here.
Sone go to their Carson city office. I even go to her new location at the Summit to help accommodate her.
I still do and will continue to recommend new business anytime I can her way like I have always done in the past years. To friends and family. And everyone new to the area needing the Best eye care provider in our area.

Dr. Becky is amazing! We feel so thankful to have been referred to her because we now have some hope for my daughter's deteriorating vision. Our 1 1/2 year old daughter managed to get a pretty good scratch on her cornea last night. It was about 7:30pm and we called the emergency line after hours. Whomever answered the phone was very kind and got us connected with Dr. Becky Humphreys very quickly. She then met us at the office in less than ten minutes and accessed her eye and gave us everything we needed. We then we were able to follow up today. Dr. Becky is so wonderful with little ones! I have been going to Family Eye Care and associates for many years. I went to an eye doctor for cosmetic purposes, and was referred to a glaucoma specialist immediately. I was diagnosed with narrow angles in both eyes that should have been detected by Family Eye Care. Even though the staff is nice, it does not excuse the fact that they are not thorough. If you go to this place, ask questions, it is not worth your sight not too. I am very disappointed that my optometrist there was not educated enough to discover narrow angles, glad it was detected by a specialist who knows what they are doing.

Back on 9-25-19 I had an appt for new glasses since not having insurance paid over $600. for my new glasses. Then the following year (2020) in April received another bill for $112.00! Really? After paying that much & by the way I'm a senior citizen I went into the office & was told that was for the examination! I don't appreciate the high cost & the "hidden" fees! So I hope people are cautious about going to your office!

I’m giving you 3 stars because my past experience has been amazing! Recently my service has been horrible. I made an appointment for a RA/diabetes eye exam stating this several times during my call. The scheduler disregarded my request (with me not knowing) and scheduled me for a regular eye exam. I do all the pretests and am escorted into the room where I wait no kidding an hour and a half. My appointment was important to me because of the RA that I begrudgingly waited. So to find out after waiting so long that they are not going to do the RA test I was livid. I used to be a big fan of Family Eyecare Associates. Always a very friendly and accommodating staff. However, there seems to be a merger/change of ownership. Now, it seems that when you call during business hours, you always receive their voicemail. Their website states, "Our phone line will go to messaging during our lunch hours from 12-1pm." -- However this seems to happen any time of day.
I called about a month ago, got their voicemail, left a message to call me back. Nothing. Recently, my glasses broke. Now, in a tough situation and pressed for time, I called them again. Same thing

My first appointment on 2/21/2019 was an excellent experience. Cindy was very kind and personable performing all the preliminary exams, and Dr. Katie Braganza was equally kind and very professional. Kristi assisted me with frames, and was very warm & helpful. Kudos to the entire staff. Really great bunch of people. The name is very appropriate because it felt like visiting a family. I have been going to Family Eyecare for so many years now- Dr. Cooper always takes such good care of me and I look forward to seeing her every year. I always feel like she has my best interest at heart - financially as well as optically - and I can tell that she genuinely cares.
I remember that in 2018 there were some glitches with front desk operations and scheduling (not enough to keep me away, of course!), but it seems those have been totally obliterated and they are functioning fantastically now! Dr. Becky completely changed the eyecare experience for our 2 year old daughter for the better. Her first visit (at another office in town) was a complete disaster resulting in hysterical tears and outright terror. Dr. Becky and her staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, took extra time to get little toys for our daughter to hold, and took a super caring, slow and gentle approach. The result was that our very shy daughter was never overwhelmed and the entire experience was calm and lovely. Could not recommend this place more, especially if you have little ones!

I see why everyone loves this place. Easy to find. Great parking. When you walk in you feel like your in a place people LOVE coming to, because there are lots of happy people on both sides of the reception desk. Totally professional operation.
Tori called me back AND did my pre exam testing using all the latest looking fun toys. I was delighted that the puff of air has been replaced by a bit of a tickle. Exam went well, glasses came in timely manor.
Both were very expensive.. but I don't have vision insurance so I pay out of pocket. The front desk was a little confused about me asking if my medical records came through, I had to explain my eye disease and everything I've been through and contact my ophthalmologist myself to see if I've had a certain testing to make sure they didn't do it again. The optometrist was very friendly and everything else went smooth.

Dr. Cooper and the entire team at Family Eyecare Associates are so wonderful, friendly, and professional! I first became a patient of Dr. Cooper's when she offered a free eyecare day for local artists a few years ago. I started with great eyesight (it's still pretty good), but my vision decreased significantly over the past two years due to all the dense reading I had to do while I was studying my current vocation. I have insurance now (woohoo!), and I am delighted to continue visiting Dr. Cooper. She has an incredible bedside manner and a radiance about her that just puts her patients

They have friendly front staff, always smiling and greet you as soon as you come in (i've been in twice). I have been coming here for ever. I love this place. easy parking, bright educated staff. The office is nice and big, a kids play area, and super clean!
You can usually get an appointment within a few days with any of the DR's here. We have seen DR Duffus in the past. He is a younger guy who always makes me feel comfortable.
Usually we get glasses or prescription sunglasses every year because it's covered under our insurance and the staff is knowledgable about the newest style.
We never feel pressured and always feel welcome! They do a great job!
