MANA is a ready-to-use therapeutic food (RUTF) composed of peanut paste, milk, and a special mix of vitamins and minerals. Carefully formulated to meet a child's basic nutritional needs, MANA gives the world's most at-risk kids the boost they need to return to good health. To ensure MANA reaches the most children in need, we partner with some of the world's largest international aid organizations to distribute our product.
Thanks to their infrastructure and experience, we are able to send MANA where the need is greatest in the fastest, most effective way possible. We love to see MANA RUTF used by Operation Smile to help babies gain weight before life changing surgery.

At MANA, we decided that we'd forego all of the complicated "vision-mission-values" exercises and instead keep the mission simple: We are here to end malnutrition. Instead of "vision and values, " we opted for a few very simple "we are" statements. They remind us of our identity and drive everything we do.
Hunger and malnutrition have many complex causes, but a mother holding her starving child can't wait for long-term solutions. She needs help now. MANA is a crucial part of a protocol called Community-based Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM). This holistic approach to treating malnutrition addresses the underlying issues that typically cause a child to reach such a desperate state.
Throughout our travels, we witness the universal truth that moms love their kids. Our time in the field gives us a firsthand look at the effects of starvation - and the relief that help brings. The mothers, children, and communities that we serve inspire us every day, and each one of them has a story worth sharing.
Someday, we hope scientists, economists, and politicians will solve the problem of world hunger. We often use the words hunger and malnutrition interchangeably. It's helpful to think of malnutrition as the clinical result of long term, unsatiated hunger. This is especially true of children, whose growing bodies are much more susceptible to becoming malnourished than adults.
