An upright, stylish commuter with premium components, available in 3 and 7 speed versions. Over 125 years old, this bike won over the hearts of the Dutch and birthed Amsterdam's bike culture. A refined, affordable, electric city bike with useful accessories, internal gearing and a powerful mid-drive motor.
It's zippy, agile and fun. It's compact enough to put on bus rack, substantial enough to carry a kid and it grows with you as your needs change. The Bosch Motor lets you zip from work to school to soccer practice without breaking a sweat. The Workcycles FR8 (Freight) is a cargo bike, Dutch style. Cushy wide tires, lowered 8 speed internal gearing, and oversized frame tubing make it perfect for Boston's bumpy pavement.

Services
That's why we sell comfortable bicycles that handily meet the challenges of everyday life. There are many recreational bike shops out there, but most sell bikes that aren't suitable for short urban trips or carrying cargo. We sell city bicycles that are set up for everyday life-with chainguards and fenders to keep your clothes clean, racks to carry your stuff, lights for showing you the way, and kickstands for when you stop to smell the roses.
At Bicycle Belle, we are experts in servicing the exceptional bikes that we sell, and we are especially experienced with technologies that are unique to cargo, electric and transportation bicycles. We have invested in specialized equipment like assisted workstands to safely lift heavy and unusually shaped bikes, and have an extensive stock of brand specific replacement parts.
Bicycle Belle specializes in city bicycles - bikes to ride in whatever you're wearing, wherever you're going. Inspired by the classic bicycles that are everyday transportation for millions in European cities. Their upright posture reduces pressure on hands, necks and backs. Well equipped with sturdy frames, racks, chain guards, wider shock absorbing tires, and lights.
The use of assisted bicycles has grown dramatically in European countries where bicycles are considered transportation. In the US, where bikes are often thought of as "sporting equipment" many people resist the idea of assist as "cheating" and the market has been dominated by bikes where the "bicycle" part of assisted bicycle was an afterthought.
We take kids bikes pretty seriously - that's why we offer a range of brands and models, each designed to be lightweight, performance oriented, and built with features that meet your child right where they are at developmentally. We stand by the idea that riding a bike should be a joy from day 1, and that's why we encourage parents to consider investing a bike that is worthy of their child's everlasting love of bicycles and joy of riding.

I would give them 5 stars because I do trust them with my Dutch city bike. I use this bike to commute around Boston, without it I am stuck. It’s my baby and will not bring it to any regular bikeshop. They have serviced it in the past and that is why I came back today. I had them replace my rear tube because of a flat. The model is too complicated to do myself with a closed drive train, internal gearing and a roller brake. This requires more labor, fair enough (charged $27). At a minimum I expect the tube to put in correctly with the stem straight, not skewed which will result in a flat at the

I live 3 blocks away from this place. The first time I went there I brought my bent mountain bike rim to be straightened. They said that they couldn't straighten my rim. A few years later I brought a bent wheel from my road bike and wanted a replacement. They did not have one in stock so they dismissed me. But I asked if they could order one. They said that they could not. This is a true story. So I don't know what kind of bicycle shop cant fix wheels or order them. They have a lot of urban bikes on display but no nomad or mountain bikes so maybe they just stick to their ? Specialty

Bicycle Belle is the closest shop to my house, so I've stopped by a couple times when I needed a part or a hand with my bike (I do most of my own service, as I enjoy that, but I'm no professional mechanic). The first time I came in and asked if they could do a repair I'd never done (which now that I've done it myself I know would have taken them about 15-20 minutes). The owner informed me, rather curtly, that they only work on the bikes that they themselves have sold, which is a policy I've never heard before at a bike shop. OK.

Thank you for existing! Thank you for being owned and operated by WOMEN. Thank you for stocking products to support growing FAMILIES. And thanks for letting me test drive a variety of electric bikes! Without this I would never have known the singular joy that is the Bosch electric motor system, or that I never want to own a bakfiet, which I was so jazzed on before the trial.
Carice is super nice and helpful and knowledgeable, and deserves every success!
I only wish you had less proprietary hours during the pandemic. Can’t wait til you’re open to the public again! :)

My partner and I had such an amazing experience at Bicycle Belle. We traveled from Rhode Island to this cute little corner shop in Boston because they had the model bicycle we were looking for. They were very responsive on Instagram and were absolutely delightful in person. Our salesperson was very knowledge and relaxed and welcoming of questions. Love that it's female-operated, as well. Could not recommend this adorable small business more!

Bike shop for Karen's.
This is the most pretentious bike shop in the Boston area. But hey if you're looking for a 3,000 dollar e-bike to transport your spoiled rotten kids to their overpriced private school then this is your place. However if you're hoping to go into a bike shop and come out with a penny left in you're name I advise you stay away.
Also the staff is not enthusiastic to do small work on non "designer" bikes. Many other options in the area to fulfill the needs of the proletariat.

Great bicycle shop if you're in the market for a bicycle to haul kids or cargo around the city. They also offer a small but well curated selection of accessories. I was in the market for a bike to carry myself and my petite toddler and I test rode several models. They installed a front mounted Yepp mini bike seat on the bikes I tried out so I could get a good feel for what it would be like to cycle with a kid in front of me. I ended up buying a Brooklyn Bicycles Willow with the Yepp mini seat, plus a Bern helmet, a bike lock, and bell. Carice, the owner, is very responsive via email if you have

The staff here is very friendly and I was happy with their selection of products. I did buy a tire pump for $47.00 and when I looked on Amazon I could get it a lot cheaper. I think if you are looking for a more affordable option maybe this isn't the first place you want to go. I was also irritated that when I stopped by to ask if they did bike tunings, they advised they only did tunings and repairs for bikes bought in the store. Maybe that is a common policy amongst all bike shops but it was a bit of an inconvenience at the time.

I couldn't be any happier with the service. Rebbeca was extremely attentive and helpful with all of my concerns, and the repair work was top notch. I've ridden all over the world (Colombia, Portugal, Spain, California, etc), and I find it is a rare thing when I encounter a mechanic as competent and friendly as she is.

Excellent store, very knowledgeable and helpful! Even though I stopped by on a busy day when lots of other people were in the store, the employee was cheerful and friendly. She quickly communicated with me and the other customers, balancing all of our requests well. I tried out several bikes (I think I did 6 test-drives) before settling on an awesome Brooklyn Bicycle Co Willow 3-speed. Thanks to Bicycle Belle and employee Becca, I'm now off and biking (which I haven't done in nearly 20 years!)

I love supporting women-run bike shops, for economic justice reasons and because they tend not to assume I don't know what I'm talking about. Bicycle Belle was no exception.
Service was well-priced, they explained things clearly, and they discussed pricing options with me when they didn't have the part I needed. Would recommend!

The folks at this place are wonderful! They take great pains for their customers' comfort. I've always felt really welcome here, never felt condescended to, cold-shouldered, pressured, or lied to for a quick sale. I've also learned a whole lot from them about what's important in a bike that I didn't know about.
I further appreciate that they stock quality products here. I've always felt confident about the quality of the things I purchase here, and the one time there was a defect, someone came to me after closing time and replaced it on the spot. That was above and beyond.

I bought my family-friendly bike from Bicycle Belle almost 2 years ago. In retrospect, I should have bought something a bit more rugged -- as I ride fairly hard, with a heavy load of kids + gear, and I ride through the winter in all weather. If there is a weak component, my riding exposes it! When some warranty issues came up, the crew at the store was always willing to replace the component, or offer an upgraded component at a small price difference.

Great service and information! All I needed was new handlebar grips. I thought I could do it myself but for a modest price they suggested in a low-key but compelling logic that they could make sure the replacements for the original pair fit properly. They explained how the shifters might need to be moved and I had just a Leatherman with me and had to get to a meeting nearby so it worked out well for me.
They also answered my curious questions about the electric assist bikes. All in all a great visit and I'll be back.
That Gazelle looked very tempting!

I chose this bike shop to install a bike charger on my racing bike and hybrid bike... I came with two custom bike chargers they would need to install. One of the chargers did not work, so they worked closely with me to try and resolve the situation on a tight timeline... I was doing a demo for an event and only had two days to get it working. They were totally flexible and had high attention to detail... I was really impressed with the equipment they sold me... they had a replacement bike charger that was extremely high quality and they gave me a discount. I was totally pleased with their customer

I've been to this shop several times, browsing, test riding, and agonizing about my decision to buy a new bicycle. They were very kind and helpful each time, even after the third time I left to 'go think about it' (I'm a grad student; this is the financial equivalent of a new car purchase :-))
Anyway, I finally decided to get a basic gazelle bike, but both the shop and the distributor were out of stock. But when the distributor said they had a fancier, more idiosyncratic version that they were looking to move quickly, the

I am so excited to have Bicycle Belle in my new neighborhood! I love the idea of a lady-run bicycle shop that also does repairs and tune-ups. Before I rode a century last weekend I had my chain replaced and my shifter repaired. The shop attendants were friendly and helpful. They were busy with lots of repairs, so it took a couple of days for them to get to my bike, but this is to be expected for a shop of their size. They assured me it would be done before my ride and it was done a day prior. I look forward to stopping in in the future and maybe learn a thing or two about tuning up my own bike

Background: I'm living in Philadelphia, and I had my heart set on buying a Workcycles Gr8 (I wanted a cargo bike that is the same length as a regular bike, not a longtail, and it's one of the few bikes that fits the bill). Workcycles is based in the Netherlands, and it's quite difficult to buy their bikes in the US, especially on the East Coast. I attempted to place an order with a fellow starting up a bike shop in NYC, but he wasn't able to collect enough orders to make shipping costs from overseas make sense, and had to give up.

This review is shamefully overdue considering that I've loved this shop since it opened. Carice is one of the nicest, hardest-working people you'll ever have the pleasure to meet, and this shop is a beautiful little gem that Massachusetts - nay, New England - is lucky to have.

I love this place! I've been riding my amazingly beautiful workcycle gr8 all over town since last fall and it is the greatest of all possible bikes. I apologize to all future customers of Bicycle Belle that you can't own my chariot, but there are other worthy models to choose from! Carice is smart and her staff are friendly and bike savvy. It is pretty awesome to take your family, including your 5yo daughter, to a bike store owned by a woman and staffed by female mechanics who just haul these huge commuter bikes around and trick them out. I adore Bicycle Belle, and I feel very fortunate to have a woman-owned-and-operated shop in my neighborhood. I bought my first commuter bike here recently (a Biria Citibike) and it's been great! The staff was very helpful while I was picking out my bike, but it's really been the service ever since that's made me a fan of this store.

I'm a middle-aged dad who liked shopping at Bicycle Belle for a bike for myself.
Deal with it.
First, don't call them "ladies' bikes," they're "low step-over." And fellas, tell me again why it's a good idea for so-called "men's bikes" to have a top horizontal bar? Really? Did we lose a coin toss 100 years ago or something?
True, I didn't need a box bike or a one-less-minivan bike, but Bicycle Belle clearly understands the whole "City Bike" genre: Safer, sturdier, practical, internal hub, easy-shift, visible, upright

This is a great bicycle store and a great resource for biking families. Carice the owner has been wonderful in giving me advice and helping me get my old bike set up with a rock, solid child safety seat while also being very patient and helpful as I research new cargo bike options. Her shop also carries lots of nice biking accessories. My only wish is that her shop were located on my side of the river.
