As a person living with BPD I can testify to effectiveness of the DBT group and private counciling. They were easy to work with and assisted me when I experienced health insurance issues. I would recommend taking the year oath to weekly group sessions. I meet via Zoom which takes travel and COVID issues off the table.

I’m updating this review because after I posted this, Grimes Effective Counseling got in touch with me, and spent a lot of time dealing with my terrible insurance company. I feel like it was a miscommunication or somehow the email was never received (sent through website). Now I have nothing but positive things to say!
I wouldn't know if I would have gotten the help I needed here. I reached out 2 months ago to find out if they had open appointments, reaching out trying to express that I needed help with depression. I was ignored.

My daughter was dealing with emotional issues, friends, school, and getting along with us. She had seen a counselor before but didn’t have a good experience. I’m so thankful our family doctor recommended Grimes Effective Counseling. She connected with my daughter and helped her learn how to communicate her feelings. We have our happy daughter back, we are so so grateful!

Seriously, from the 1st visit 3 years ago to see Emily Grimes I felt comfortable and as though she understood where I was coming from with how I see the world. I was referred to her practice by my original therapist who thought I would benefit from learning DBT or Dialectical Behavior Therapy. She was right! With Emily’s help I have been able to continue on with my life, meaning, I have continued working, learned how to retain healthy relationships with my family and process my emotions in a healthy way. Being diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder sucks, but with their help I am able
