What we do (our behavior) and how we feel is heavily influenced by the ways we think (cognition). Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a solution-based approach to changing the ways we think and behave. Too often we are caught up in the feeling and react reflexively. CBT helps us examine our inner life (thoughts in our mind) and find out why we do what we do.
At the Center for Personal Growth, our Family Therapists and Psychologists work with families to help them communicate constructively and uncover underlying issues preventing them from resolving conflicts and relating better. We'll help your family members invest in themselves and make progress towards change by working on your family's ability to solve problems together and express thoughts and emotions in a healthy and productive manner.
At the Center for Personal Growth, our Licensed Therapists and Psychologists help couples invest in relationships by guiding them in constructive communication skills, emotional intimacy, and skills to help solidify and strengthen their relationship. Marriage/ Couples Counseling can provide an unbias third party to help couples work through their issues.

Writing this almost 5 years after my parents brought me along with my brother and sister here after a divorce. “Dr.” Alloway made many suggestions to my family that we all fought her on and said it would make our family worse. We tried them anyways. We were more than right. Our family got much worse. Brenda called all of us names including me remediate. As of right now I am a sophomore in high school with a 4.375 gpa, am in the top 10% of my class, and a member of the national honor society (with no additional tutoring or assistance). As soon as we stopped going here our family recovered quickly

I agree with all of you who experienced such an an unprofessional horrible experience.
She claims she knew how to do Custody Evaluations and clearly had no idea what she was doing and found out had never done one!
She left my 3 children scarred from the things she said and did while in her care.
Not to mention she gouged us for thousands of dollars!
I should have reported her to the board.
She does not belong practicing !
For anyone looking for help run from this place!

Dr. Alloway has really helped me. She is a no nonsense, tell it like it is therapist. But she gets down to it and gets the job done. That's what I was there for. I've been to other therapists that don't provide value, they just sit there and listen and don't really help. Dr. Alloway has helped me see where I can improve my life. Given me options and advice I can either take or leave, but I personally feel she has helped me. If you don't want to hear the truth and just want someone to listen to you, then maybe she is not for you, but if you really want help and want to make

Went to 2 couples therapy sessions with Dr. Alloway. She was utterly unprofessional and unethical. At the first session she was unusually interested in our willingness to return and continue using her services. It felt as though she was trying to make us feel guilty for being insufficiently committed to the health of our relationship if we didn't give her a 10 out of 10 response on the likelihood of us coming back. I was suspicious but we returned for a second session hoping this would be a positive experience for us. Well we were really caught off guard because the way she conducted the session

I gave up on therapists. I was tired of just talking and not getting a solution to what I was going through. Although I thought Dr. Alloway seemed blunt at first, she suggested I address several issues in my life honestly. I have moved through some lifelong problems. I'm learning to deal with life positively and with a strength I never knew I had. The growth I've experienced over the past year has been amazing. I look at situations differently. I act on issues instead of hiding. I'm glad I stuck around and listened to her suggestions. I like myself now!

I struggled finding a therapist I could talk to and trust 100 percent until I came here. Dr. Silva is amazing, she listens and really helps. It is difficult finding a Dr. like that. So many times you talk and it seems like they are too busy to listen. Center for Personal Growth is amazing and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who asks. They take the time to get to know you and the information and help they give is priceless and amazing. I am so happy I found this place. Changed my life completely.

I finally made an appt. here specifically based on a rec from a trusted friend. Dr. Parnell seems great but I only saw her once and she then cancelled on me twice in three weeks. I am not likely returning. I hope that the center can honor the fact that it is very challenging for many people to initiate the process of seeking therapy in the first place and respect the difficulty of just the anticipation of going to sessions, only to be cancelled on with just a couple hours' notice -- TWICE out of three sessions I had scheduled to completely center her schedule. There is a harsh policy for a high
