Services
Our mission is to provide speech therapy and hearing care that will improve the quality of life for you and those you care about. Speech & Hearing Associates (SHA) is dedicated to helping people lead more fulfilling lives by giving them the tools essential to maximize their communication potential.
Questions about your hearing? Within the first six months of life, children begin to learn how to talk and understand language. For speech and language development, the first three years of a child's life are crucial. Children with hearing loss may begin receiving treatment to strengthen their hearing or programs to learn to communicate if they are screened and diagnosed early.
Understanding your insurance benefits can be difficult and time-consuming. For this reason, Speech and Hearing Associates has dedicated employees who work one-on-one with you and your insurance provider to ensure that there are no surprises at the time of treatment. Working with SHA's insurance team has been a pleasure.
Answer: If your plan specifies it covers speech therapy for conditions including illness, then your child's history should make the therapy covered. Check the Medical Policy of your insurance plan and find the language that specifies when speech therapy is covered and when it is excluded. Then look at the language of the letter you received that states the coverage is denied.
Below is some helpful information about how Speech and Hearing Associates determines your Horizon benefits and ensures that you receive all benefits for which you are entitled. Our office managers will call Horizon to determine the benefits of your plan (Horizon usually requires an authorization6 or we will do a test therapy session9).

I am so grateful for Ms. Dominique and her support of my daughter during her speech therapy sessions. I've never seen her so excited to learn and apply the strategies she learned during her sessions. I've seen a real improvement in her speech and syntax. Dominique, thank you for being so accommodating and sharing your good energy with us.

I called to make an appointment for my child and the secretary was so RUDE, that I was turned off from even using their services or bringing my child here. She seemed very annoyed when I asked questions about the process. If she is the one I need to speak to every time I make my appointments, NO THANK YOU!

This review is just over 4yrs in the making. Our son has taken speech therapy with Mrs. Melissa since he was just over 3yrs old and for the last year he's been in her social skills class. Today he "Graduated" and while we will miss Mrs.Melissa(and the staff), we are so proud of how far he's come. Mrs.Melissa has been nothing short of phenomenal. She worked along with our son's school speech teacher to make sure he was getting the best most effective lesson's to help him along. The last year has taught him how to socialize and express himself to better communicate and interact with others and has

I have been hearing impaired for many years and have dealt with many hearing aid providers along the way. I came by Dr. Susan Woods, AuD through a recommendation from a woman with severe hearing loss who was very difficult to fit for an aid. Dr. Wood worked with her through all her difficulty and helped her. This impressed me and when I met Dr. Woods for my own hearing aid, I found her to be very professional and knowledgeable and on target with what she recommended for me. I felt I was being served by a knowledgeable diagnostician rather than someone simply marketing a hearing instrument. She

Speech and Hearing Associates (SHA) is, in my opinion, the best source for speech therapy in New Jersey. Their Speech-Language pathologists are top notch and easily accessible throughout the state and one can easily find a practitioner skilled in either pediatric or adult cases.
Special props go to SHA's billing department and insurance-wranglers. Insurance coverage for speech therapy is often quite murky and frustratingly obscure but the SHA crew know their insurance double-speak and WILL go the extra mile to either ensure that the patient understands what the insurance companies are thinking
