We've been all over the greater Columbus area looking for a good hibachi place. House of Japan in Polaris was unnecessarily crowded and the bathrooms were wretched. Iron Chef in Pickerington was absolutely disgustingly filthy. Went to Fujiyama on a Groupon and left before we even ordered.
This place is different. It was well lit, clean, friendly staff, good service, good food and our orders were correct. My family can't wait to go back!

The food and service are great. I would give them a 5 if it wasn't for a particularly rude deception in their billing.
They don't just suggest a gratuity. The receipt they print for your credit card already has a gratuity added in, and then you have the option to add more.
Furthermore, the credit card slip you sign does not indicate this increased amount is not the true bill amount.
I generally tip 20% as a starting number and go up from there for good service. During the pandemic I've bumped up my tipping to even higher.
BUT - when the restaurant bumps up my bill without

Update: unfortunately this place is starting to go down hill. We've been back a couple of times since my last review and I feel like each time we come back, some gets worse whether it's wait times or service. Even during covid, they've jam packed our table that is meant for 8, with 10 people! We waited forever and then got sat at a table where we were uncomfortably close to one another and strangers. Food has been hit or miss. They bring out boxes as soon as the chef finishes cooking the food without even letting you enjoy it. Definitely disappointing to see.

We went for my birthday and it was incredibly disappointing. The chef was completely disengaged and did not do anything to incorporate us at the table. My friend said that she was gluten-free and they said that there was not one single thing on the menu that she could eat. They brought out our checks after we had consumed two bites of food and rushed us out of the restaurant even though the restaurant was still open for three more hours and completely empty. I'm so disappointed and will never be returning here again I would highly suggest that you avoid this restaurant

Food was average for a Japanese steakhouse (nothing great, nothing bad). Service needs a major improvement. I understand the difficulties with Covid and we had a large party of 12, but certain things cannot be blamed on Covid.
Soup and salad were only bought out for half the table (a very minor issue). The chef pointed out the mistake to the waiters, who blamed the other server multiple times before addressing the issue.
The main issue was our bills. Again, the servers did not communicate well and all 4 bills were incorrect (some bills were too high and some too low). When we told the waiter

I was taken here for my birthday.....the chef saved the experience, he was talented and funny and the food was fresh and good rice portions are small if your a rice lover. The yum yum sauce was very runny, didn't have any consistency, and the house salad dressing was not good at all, it was of 4 us and we all agreed on that as well. The service was terrible , worst service I have had in a Japanese steak house or Japanese establishment for that matter. Our whole table had empty cups and didn't get any refills till I got up and found a young lady that was suppose to be the host sitting

We had a wonderful experience here today! The landscaping and appearance of the building are top notch, as well as the cleanliness and decor inside.
We went for lunch with our little one, who loved the showmanship of our chef as well as the friendliness of our server. Our server even fed our daughter for a little bit so we could eat while the food was still hot! They really went out of their way to ensure we had an excellent dining experience.
Prices are very reasonable and the filet mignon melted in my mouth (medium rare is the way to go!). They also have one of the best miso soups I've tried

Pretty awful food. ordered the “Sakura Special for 2” poor quality ingredients and lack of care from the chef, poor management. DONT expect anything from your server, it’s as if the serving staff are ghosts. Didn’t thoroughly cook our vegetables and over cooked our seafood. Steak and chicken were the only “safe” bets, even then use cation as I had chicken bits that weren’t fully cooked. CAUTION. There’s gratuity added on to your bill already (nearly 20%) and they still ask for another tip on top.
Not the greatest place to spend your anniversary. Though the atmosphere is pretty

Food was ok, service was terrible. The waitress was very rude. She snatched the menu from my hand, never came to refill our drinks and didn't come back to receive payment. We had to go find her to give the check and payment back. The yum yum sauce was very watery and has a bitter taste to it. The service was definitely a turn off, we felt very unwelcome the entire time. Our best experience was watching the chef prepare the food. He was very talented and very sociable. Have always had great experiences at the other steakhouses in the city and will not be returning to Sakura

My wife and I were seated for 20min, already through the soup and salad courses, when they sat a family of six at our table, effectively resetting the clock to get started. After another 20min there was no sign of our chef and the kids began playing with their soup noodles. Epic fail Sakura. It's not our fault no one came in immediately after us. The family should've had their own table, you weren't busy, and we should've started.

Please DO NOT give this "business" your money. This place doesn't deserve 1 star. We had a terrible experience today. The food was terrible!!! The plates and silverware were dirty. Soon after the chef finished cooking the food, the owner (I believe her name was Margret) started screaming at her employees. The entire staff were literally arguing back and forth. They were arguing because people left without paying for their meal and the owner told the employees they have to pay for meals customers don't pay for. I told the owner I was not happy with my service, the food and unprofessionalism

My family and I tried this place last night and it was amazing. I thought all Japanese steakhouses were the same. NOPE! The yum yum sauce was completely different than all the others. I could've eaten it with a spoon. The chicken melted in my mouth, as did the fillet. Service was great! Thank god I live close! This will always be our go to for Hibachi!!!

Anita the manager is the worse restaurant manager I have Ever experienced! She did not care about our experience or about if we had a good time while patronizing her restaurant. It is so unfortunate that we came here for my friends son birthday party booked a reservation prior and came ready for a great night. However Anita the manager and the waitress on duty were completely unprofessional. From not having the proper food, drinks, or cups, ingredients, wine, the list goes on. Our table was definitely disappointed but quickly moved on. The waitress told us you are making my night difficult we laughed

Always fun! Notice that there is a gratuity which means the tip is already included on the bill and they leave room for you to add another tip so just saying be careful. Love the place. Love the food. The old man is the best chef and we have seen him around Columbus for 30 years and on the back of the Columbus phone book years ago

Ordered the steak and shrimp hibachi and the Crab Rangoons. The Rangoons here aren't the typical folded triangle that seems very common in this area. These are rolls that are tied up like little bombs. The filling is delicious, and the shells are thin and very crispy. The accompanying red sauce is my all time favorite for Rangoon dipping sauce.
The steak was flavorful, and the shrimp were good. The rice was cooked well. No complaints about the taste, or portion.
Will be ordering from here if I ever want some takeout hibachi, and will certainly be getting the Rangoons any time I

Food is good but customer service is a joke. The only way to try their food is to go to the restaurant where the cleanliness is a 3 at best. Have tried several times to call in an order to-go and they have never been accommodating. "The chefs are too busy with their dine-in customers". Anytime I've been there in person, there's only ever 2 tables full (at most).

I saw that this restaurant didn't have many stars and I was a bit worried, but after visiting I have no complaints. We came here on a Thursday evening and it wasn't busy at all. They don't take reservations but we walked in and were seated immediately. Soon after, a few other people joined to complete our table. As always, hibachi is a fun thing to watch be cooked, and it was clear that the chef was a master at his craft. I ordered the scallops and my partner ordered the shrimp and chicken. The scallops came with an egg yolk sauce that I'd never had before. When he was cooking

Food is average at best. Where this place lacks is service. Don't believe me? Call to get a reservation. The hostess will tell you we don't hold reservations. Just show up and we may be able to serve you. Hopefully within 35 minutes. Really? That doesn't work when you have family traveling into town to meet you for lunch. We found reservations elsewhere with the same menu. No problem.

Food was great but BEWARE of covid guidelines NOT being followed. Our waiter did not wear his mask properly the entire time we were there. Then half way through the cooking, he added one extra customer to our table only 2 chairs away. 2ft at best, nowhere near 6ft. Kinda funny with all these disregards but then had the chefs cooking at a different table.
Then on top of it they charged gratuity on a party of 2?
Will not go back as I did not feel safe.

This place left a lot to desire....starting with the food and HORRID customer service!!! The hostess / lady at the bar was so rude and didn't even seem to want to help at all. We were overcharged and were not told about the automatic 10% tip for carry out orders!! She couldn't explain why this was added or the procedure. The food was "alright " but nothing to call home about. I thought it was bland and for all the money we spent it was small portions. Also noodles are not included

We have been going here off and on for years. The food is usually pretty decent. The service is spotty depending on the server. The forced gratuity thing I is an absolute deal breaker. Last night we had a party of three and were charged almost $15 I in forced gratuity. I don't know how this caN even be legal. I did notice a decrease in cleanliness from previous trips in. This will be my last trip to this place due to the gratuity issue. This is a common trick for businesses who are struggling financially. I doubt this place will be around much longer.
Also, our dinner was too come with ice
