Poor customer service, very slow refund process. Frustrating to reach by phone. Not so good in the age of Amazon. And no less expensive than other Alden vendors.

Fake Timberlands. Place is run by thieves. Their online operation is even worse! They send you the wrong product. No one responds for weeks. Then when they accept the return, they charge you restocking fee knowing they sent the wrong shoe. Trash!

This is a spam website! Don't try to order anything from this website! I placed an order 2/11, and they never ship my order as of 3/31! They said they are in production and they don't even have delivery date! Don't trust this store!

Customer SErvice is NON-EXISTANT! Asmany other reviews state - they NEVER answer the telephone nor do they EVER call back when you leave a message- all this during regular business hours. Can't even place an order - phone rings off the hook and nobody picks up. "I'm afraid all the operators are busy at the moment, but please hold & you will be transferred when someboy becomes available". Unfortuantely nobody EVER becomes available. Very slow refund on returns. I've still not seen a refund yet 2 weeks after the package was returned to their office. I am now chasing it, they don't have weekend phone hours. Overall, not the best mail order experience. I will say they delivered fine, and they did offer free return shipping. But without processing a refund promptly, it is frustrating. This is compared to say Amazon who refunds an order as soon as they see it has been dropped off t UPS, this is glacial. I'll update with any further problems if they in fact never do refund, but assuming I'll get it

Came here for a pair of Alden 403's. Salesman was very knowledgeable (and patient) as I tried on a number of sizes and varieties. This will absolutely be the first place I come to for my next pair of Aldens.

BEWARE!!!! This company uses Amazon fulfillment and take no responsibility for what mistakes Amazon makes. Ordered 2 pairs of shoes, one was fin, one was wrong shoes in correct box. I had ordered these for a wedding and the ones that were in wrong box came from Amazon fulfillment and The Shoe Mart took absolutely no responsibility for the error, I did not have them for the wedding, wrote to complain, they sent a shipping label, showed no care or concern, have no more my size, and will not refund my almost $200 until they receive them in the warehouse. This is a very high end shoe store for mostly mens dress shoes. Most shoes are between $200-700. However, they have an extensive closeout and irregular stock. I got an awesome pair of $400 Cole Hann Zerogrands Black wingtips for $89. An amazing find. If you need a daily dress shoe that you plan on wearing for 5+ years I'd recommend Shoe Mart. Should be able to find something nice for $150-300. If you're smart like I am you will bring your loud children. They seems to really appreciate that.

Disingenuous return policy. They tell you they offer free returns but when you try and return your purchase they offer a hundred and one caveats. And as other reviewers have pointed out, customer service here is not their strong suit. I don't appreciate being hustled by fine print and bait and switch approaches so I won't be coming back.

They have the brand of shoes I wanted, Samuel Hubbard, but they have a somewhat limited selection, and will not, or can not order, something for you from the company. They gave me some vague excuse about why they don't special order. I didn't find it very understandable. I know a lot of other shoe stores that will special order for customers. For a small store, they don't excel in customer service.

Fantastic shoe shop which for me is (thankfully) relatively local. I've purchased several pairs of Alden shoes & boots from here over the past few years, using both their "pre-order list" and "2nd quality" services and I've been pleasantly surprised each time.

This is a review of The Shoe Marts online system and support. I bought a pair of Alden shoes two years ago that just recently showed signs of a defect. I was worried that the shoes were too old to be covered by any kind of warranty but I Emailed The Shoe Mart asking what could be done. Raneka responded to me very promptly and even provided paid fed Ex labels so that they could take a better look at the shoes! less than a week later she let me know that they would be sending me a brand new pair! Really outstanding customer service and communication. I could not be happier.

This is the place for fine men's footwear. I own six pairs of Aldens and these guys know how to fit them, refurbish them and to sell me a new pair once in a while. The service and selection are equal to none.

The Shoe Mart needs to do better with customer support. Simply, they take forever to answer the phone and you often have to let it ring for like 10 minutes.

Once they pick up, they are fairly down-home and helpful, but it's getting them to pick up that is frustrating.

Remarkable in their selection of Aldens, and some other finds like the Wolverine 1000's. This is probably THE store for finding Aldens, as their new lines run around $500 and their factory sections will get you a pair for about a $200 reduction. This is a little too much for me at the moment, but I can still appreciate its remarkability. My fiancee always gets his shoes from Shoe Mart because they have both the inventory and the knowledge to be able to fit his monstrous feet (13 4E). We were looking for some nice, rich brown dress shoes for him to wear to our wedding and they did not disappoint. The salesman knew what he was talking about and was able to find the perfect shoes with very little trouble. Quick, painless and professional = a 5* experience!

I have been a dedicated customer to Shoe Mart and the Zapatka brothers since my father started shopping for his shoes there back in the 70's.
