I've only visited Autowise Automotive twice and have received great services. The staff are professional, you get in and out and they really do great work. My car was taken care of immediately and I was given advise as to what the issue was. I am so excited to have a mechanic work on my vehicle, who knows what he's doing. I've been servicing my cars here for several times now. In the beginning I rated them a five star. However over time their workmanship has became questionable. They made an error on replacing my left axle. Something with the cover was left loose and grease was left spilling around the area. At least they repaired it no charge. Another incident on the same car at a different time, I had my breaks repaired. The breaks work but now my front and steering wheel vibrates when sudden deceleration. It never did that before! Also they lost my hub cap too!

Excellent customer service and excellent mechanics. Olaf, who runs the front office, is wonderful. Amazingly juggles a very busy phone and customers in the office. He's extremely patient, knowledgeable and helpful. Gave my car a free inspection and gave me an easy to understand explanation of the transmission and catalytic converter problems as well as my options. It was my first time there and now I'm using them for oil changes and whatever else may arise. This is an auto shop I can trust.

Exceptional service from this auto repair shop. Naveen was very accommodating and friendly. Came in for an oil service here and they were very prompt at taking in my car and working on it right away. They even reminded me to rotate my tires (which I totally forgot). I was out in about 40 minutes. Will definitely be coming back here

I rarely write reviews but BE AWARE! No matter what discounts you could potentially get to take ur car here, stay away. They damaged my car and then refused to service it with no explanation. The Volkswagen dealership made it clearly evident to me. They never rotated my tires, claimed I did not even purchase new tires (even with proof of receipt they don't want to service it) and my entire family has been going here for years. HORRIBLE- STAY AWAY.

I was so pleased with the service that was provided to me my daughters car broke down and I was happy with both individuals that I encountered they were very professional very caring and understanding I will definitely utilize them in the future and provide referrals. I don't even live in the area but would be more than happy to take my vehicle to them because they are extremely trustworthy people .

Been customer for more than a year now, I take both my cars for regular maintenance here - so far so good. I was actually happy with the service (pick-up, drop-off) etc.
Beware though - my last experience wasn't as good - Autowise performed service which was not asked for, not covered in original estimates. Typically they call to ask for confirmed yes/no before performing any additional service which cost extra - in this case they just went ahead and performed and billed.

I would give more stars if I could. About a year ago my car suddenly crapped out and it was a Saturday so there were very limited options. We are new to the area so we had no personal experience with any of the options. The owners are a husband and wife who clearly take pride in offering great service. They both speak about cars the way a pediatrician talks to you about your sick kid. I know that sounds crazy but they seem to really care and there was no effort to upswell me a bunch of crap I don't need. The price was super fair and they notified me as soon as it was ready.

I came to this place because my fuel pump needed to be replaced. I dropped off my car at 9:30am, they had my car for 5hrs when my husband decided to follow up on the status. He called to ask what was going on they said it was definitely the fuel pump(which we knew already) and it would cost $1,400 to replace! That is ridiculous! We took back our car and found a place that could do it for 400$. This place is a ripoff and they take hours just to inspect a car.

I wanted to change the oil, they told me I need to replace some part of my car, and they wanted to charge me $800 for that. I was not sure so I've got second opinion, and the other auto repair guy told me NOTHING is wrong with my car!

I would like to first start off with: "Why does yelp only have up to 5 stars? lol" Seriously this place Autowise in Union City is the best Auto Repair place in all of the East Bay and heck, add the South Bay in there as well!

I really like the people here - I think that they are trustworthy, they seem to do good work (at least from what I've had done here,) and they are really friendly. It's cool that they will drive you home so you don't have to wait for them to work on your car.
However, slow slow slow slow. You can expect an oil change to take 3-4 hours. I get it - they're busy - but if you need something done quickly, you probably need to try another place.

I was enticed to this place by coupon mailers for basic auto services, and I always love giving local and family owned businesses a shot before chains and corporations. The owner, Mike, and his wife, Lori, were so wonderful, genuine, and honest every time I went in there that I was hooked for years. Every issue I always brought it to Autowise, and they always seemed fair and honest. One time, Mike (the owner) even cut $50 off the signed price quote because the repair actually went a lot fast than they had expected. It's that kind of behavior that made me love

I received a coupon for oil change from the mail yesterday. I decided to use the coupon and called them this morning to make an appointment. I was told to come at 11 am which I did. They told me it would take about an hour or so to do the oil change and perform an inspection of the vehicle. I told them to check the brakes if they get a chance.
They offered a free shuttle which I took advantage of. The shuttle service drove me back home which was 2 miles away. The driver was excellent and followed all the traffic laws which was very comforting.

Avoid this place if you don't know much about car maintenance and are not comfortable turning down most of their "suggested" maintenance items.
This place is conveniently located for me. And the customer service has always been great. If they say they will fix something, they'll fix it and if they don't fix it correctly the first time (these things happen) they'll usually do any subsequent tweaks for free. They have also fixed some things for free that they could have easily charged a lot more for.
