All of our instructors are highly trained in both sport Jiu Jitsu and self defense techniques, and want to spread their knowledge to you. Since being founded by Carlos Gracie Sr. in the 1920's, Jiu Jitsu has proven many times over to be the most effective martial art in the world.
Learning to defend yourself is one of the most empowering actions you can take in your life. One of the reasons jiu jitsu is so effective in this manner is because you get to practice techniques in realistic situations. One of the best things about jiu jitsu is that it is a fun way to get in shape while making new friends and learning a new skill.
Our adult jiu jitsu classes are broken into two levels. For those who have never trained before, or are a white belt, our fundamentals classes are available. These classes focus on basic movements and techniques you'll need for self defense and more advanced jiu jitsu. To build up your foundation there is a heavy emphasis on learning proper technique and how to perform them safely and effectively.

A place of family for children and adults alike. This business, the owners and instructors, are of the highest integrity and values. Their skillfulness, discipline and dedication is unsurpassed in the Houston area. Missouri City and Sugar land families are indeed blessed to have them in such close proximity. Whether you want to teach your children valuable life skills or whether you are an adult looking to train to compete at the highest levels, or you are a female looking to learn some basic self defense skills this is the most welcoming and most advanced place for you to be.

When I moved to Houston, my plan was to try out 2 or 3 dojos before committing to one. This was the first dojo I went to and after the first 5 minutes I knew I wouldn't even need to look at the others. I have trained various martial arts all over the world for most of my life and know how difficult it is to find a great dojo. This place is a gem.
The single most important feature of any great dojo is its culture. It does not matter how technically great the students and teacher are without this. And the students are a reflection of the teacher. From the moment I walked in, I was welcomed as though

I brought my kids in to try the free week of Muay Thai and once the class got going I instantly knew I wanted to sign my kids up. My boys have really enjoyed the class and working with Professor Paul. The skills, coordination, and confidence they have gained means the world to me as a parent. Not only that, I see how proud my sons are of their accomplishments throughout the class. Professor Paul does a great job instructing these kids and teaching them lessons they will need in life. Self defense, courage, confidence, and being a good person are all developed in this class. Highly recommend!

I have been wanting to do jiujitsu for a long time. After a friend referred me here I was instantly hooked. The professors Romulo and Marcelo are unbelievable instructors. They along with Andrea have created a family atmosphere. All the students are very welcoming and help each other out. The higher belts take the time to show the newcomers the proper techniques. The skills you learn here are world class and have been passed down from the legendary gracie family. They also have kickboxing for all levels taught by Paul who is a great guy and especially wonderful with children. You really cant go

I have been going for over a year now. My son has been going for 3 years. I look forward to the time I spend with my RGA family. I’m proud to call Prof Romulo and Prof Marcelo my instructors. They’ve not only improved my Jiu Jitsu (from basically nothing) but also made me a better friend, husband, and father along the way. I can’t recommend RGA enough to anyone thinking of giving it a shot. See ya on the mat!

I wanted to wait until my kids have settled-in before providing a review. It's been 6 months now and they still love it--they actually look forward in going every week. We go about 3 times per week and I can see improvements in my boys. One of my son is considerably smaller than kids in his age group and one of the advantages of BJJ is that it teaches him that size doesnt matter. The professors are all good with kids and teaches them age-appropriate lessons for each class (we were in the Kids class but recently moved up to the Juniors class so can definitely see the difference in the lessons provided

My 9 year old has been attending the academy for 1 year now, and we are very pleased with this facility. The teachers are great and my son is learning a lot. They offer 3 classes a week plus an advance class for this age group, we try to attend all 4 classes a week. My 4 year old just started this summer and loves it also.
