The Buddha designed a spiritual relationship of mutual support for his monastic and lay followers. There are many ways that monks provide for the spiritual life of lay people in addition to teaching during scheduled activities.
The monks are available as spiritual guides for the laity, instructing on matters such as moral conduct in daily life; how to develop and maintain a successful family life; how to raise children to be virtuous; and the way to develop inner peace.Monks are always available to provide spiritual guidance to people wishing to apply the Buddha's teachings to their daily lives.

Pali is the ancient language that our scriptures were originally written in. We usually do chanting in Pali and English for the English programs so people can understand what is being chanted. No. Wear what is comfortable for you. On special occasions, some people like to wear white traditional clothing, but that's optional and many people don't.
A very simple definition is that Buddhism is the practice of living our lives in as realistic, and compassionate a manner as possible, by understanding the true nature of life as described in The Four Noble Truths. We do this by following the lessons from the Buddha himself, who understood how we make our lives unnecessarily difficult due to our distorted perceptions of reality.
All of the teachings and services at the monastery are offered at no charge. This is made possible through the generosity of our supporters. If you would like to contribute financially to our work and for the maintenance of the monastery, it will help to continue our services. To make your donation, please select a method convenient to you.
