I will start off by saying that the apartments are nice (for the most part)! However, they are overpriced for what you get overall.
My boyfriend and I applied for a 2bed 2 bath. We were told to send our income verification and that our application would be complete. We did just that (I believe a day later) & they informed us the unit we wanted was no longer available. We were never informed anyone else was inquiring.
So we move on and apply for another unit which I’ll mention had no sunlight whatsoever. We did that immediately after they told us to apply for the other available unit (within

This is a beautiful community. The leasing consultant Tim was very nice. He showed me the community and was very warm, professional, and friendly. The amenities that they have are very nice and modern. The pool is gorgeous! The floor plans are beautiful. I am glad that I checked it out. You will be in for a surprise and a treat by checking out this community.

I love our apartment. I HATE the management. We have to make reservations for the 24 hour gym now (which is now only open during office hours) because of COVID, which is understandable to keep a low number of people in there. HOWEVER, the management is not there half the time so they close the gym, even when I have a reservation. Today, the pool (on a hot Saturday) is “closed” and residents never got an email. The office and gym seem to be closed often with no warning. They need to hire more people that will show up on time or actually hire decent employees. The fact that we never get warning

Getting a call back from the leasing office is nothing short of a miracle. As I was reading the reviews, I noticed that the high/5-star reviews had less likes 👍but that the very low ratings/1-star reviews (the least you can give) have multiple likes 👍. This tells me that more people agree with the critical reviews of Midtown. Be warned that when others like 👍 a post, it doesn’t change the overall number rating....

Midtown 501 Apartments advertise themselves as "Luxury Apartments", but that couldn't be more deceptive. To be fair, I will discuss both the Pros and Cons of the apartment complex:
PROS:
- Located conveniently near Chapel Hill University and Hospital, and just a few minutes drive from Durham.
- Large apartments that are fairly priced per square foot.
- Quiet neighborhood for the most part.
- Within a block of a nature trail that is great for walking, running, or bike riding.
- Amenities are a nice bonus.
CONS:
- Living on the ground floor is a miserable experience, as you can hear everything

The exterior upgrades are nice (done about 5 years ago). The buildings look nice from the outside. The complex had quite a few trees which made it cozy feeling. I liked that all of the units had balconies and most buildings were symmetrical.
I insisted on walking through a vacant unit. I got some pushback from the office staff as she attempted to take me to the "model" apartment.
I did not find the vacant unit to be well-maintained. I could tell the complex does not invest in proper maintenance of the insides of the units.
The inside of the unit felt sad and neglected.
*Mold on bathroom ceiling

The Apartments at Midtown 501 came to our rescue! After the onset of the Coronavirus, my roommate and I were looking to move farther away from the center of campus, but were having a lot of trouble finding somewhere nice that was also within our budget. Another big consideration was whether the place had any outdoor amenities, and 501 came through in that regard. From poolside grills to a basketball court to an indoors sports simulator powered by AI, this place really does have it all. Whether you're a UNC student looking for off campus housing or just someone in the middle of their life looking

I have lived at Midtown for 1 year and half now. I first lived in the 3 bedroom and then transferred to a 2 bedroom. I love the apartments and the neighborhood. I often walk the short 5 minutes to the Booker Creek trail and always see so many deer. The complex is located super close to everything- grocery stores, shopping, movie theaters, and amazing restaurants. I lived here my senior year and it was so nice to be able to study by the pool. I have not had any major maintenance issues, except my washer machine which was fixed in less than 3 days (2 of which were weekends.) I think my favorite part

Do not live at Midtown 501. I am sure there are people at Midtown whose experiences were better than mine, but this was the worst housing experience of my life. The unit was infested with American Cockroahes due to an ongoing leak in the bathroom ceiling. The management company was informed of this issue at least 4 times. One day I went to the office because it was raining out of my bathroom ceiling and they told me someone had come by that morning to fix it. Obviously it was never dealt with. Roaches literally crawled out of the bathroom ceiling from holes left due to the leak. The gutter outside

DO NOT rent here. The staff is completely unhelpful, and my apartment had mold in it for months. I submitted several service tickets to remove the mold, and they simply painted over it. The bathtubs also had terrible drainage. If I was using one, the other would fill with brown liquid. It was disgusting. These apartments are old and poor quality. They simply paint it and put some cheap vinyl flooring down to make it 'modern.' I would absolutely not recommend renting here.

I've lived here one month. There are some fantastic things about this place, and some eh factors, but overall, it's better than I expected, and unless something big changes, I'll probably be happy here for a few years. First, the office staff is FANTASTIC. Daniel and Princess are on their game, always polite, always helpful, they get stuff done. Both of them have supported me with special requests, and they are very professional. No complaints at all with the rental agreement process, etc. Everything went smooth as silk. I had one maintenance issue and it was fixed within a day.

I don't think I have ever written a review for an apartment I have lived in but as I am moving out soon I wanted to speak of my experience here. Get ready, it's long.
Since the day I walked into the office desperate to find an apartment with a moving van full of stuff, two children in an over priced day care, my husband at his first day at a new job and no where to live thanks to a very misrepresented completely unlivable apartment and slum lord, the crew at Midtown has done whatever they can to accommodate us. They got us moved in that day. They stayed late to make sure we had a place

My wife and I moved here in August. We're very satisfied with the experience. Highlights:
-A really nice huge pool
-Nice luxury apartments that are much more affordable than Durham and Carrboro.
-The clubhouse is pretty nice. Bringing friends there for shuffleboard is lots of fun. They also have a Starbucks machine that dispenses complimentary 12 oz cups of coffee.
-The staff are great. They are very professional and anticipate tenant needs. Jon Taffer would love this staff.
It's affordable and walk-able to Trader Joe's and Whole Foods. Moving to Midtown 501 was a great choice

I love our apartment in MidTown 501!
The apartments have just been outfitted all brand-new modern appliances. There are lights in every room. There are 2 bathrooms with very easy to clean shower/tubs. The ceilings are on the high side, and the floor plans make the most of the ample square footage. The dark wood floors are very easy to clean. The kitchen counters are gorgeous and there is a gigantic island with provides a nice space to prepare meals.
The pool is pretty huge and there is always a ton of seating around it. We've brought friends over at night to play games on the pool patio

We lived there, in Foxcroft happily for about ten years then under the Midtown owners for several months. We have since moved out. I can review our experience with the new ownership, Eller Living, and the advantages and disadvantages of living there. I'll start with advantages and disadvantages.
Advantages:
Location: It's within walking distance of two, maybe three shopping centers; you can walk to Trader Joe's and Whole Foods if you can walk at all. If you don't mind a hike you can get to Harris Teeter. There's a creek and woods and a greenway and a nice hill nearby
