All the food here is absolutely next level. The biryani, the coco lamb, even just the tikka masala tastes more rich and flavorful than any Indian restaurant I've ever been to. Definitely beats all the other Infatuation-recommended Indian restaurants in the neighborhood.

Hit or Miss! The chicken tikka masala sauce is extremely tasty, however the chunks of chicken are almost always extremely hard and stiff to bite down on. Not sure what part of the chicken they use, but it would be great if they considered changing it because the curry itself is great. Sometimes I get lucky with a few good pieces of chicken. If you decide to come here, definitely go for the cheese naan, it's a must.

An employee was so rude. Even referred to me with attitude! Because I asked if my orders are ready! to tell it in my face, the nerve! Even if she owns the place, she can't just say about attitude!
just so let you know ! You're not busy as only one table with customer is occupied! pick up orders are ordered ahead of time, & it doesn't make sense why we need to wait!
ATTITUDE! Before you say that big word,
check your attitude first!

Every single dish is amazing. Kapoor's Akbar serves delicious Indian food that should be experienced by everyone!

Strawberry Lassi (5) - This is so delicious and refreshing.
Chana Samosa Chat (9) - So many flavors, the texture is perfect. The samosas are open and crispy. The fillings are heavily seasoned.

Garlic Cheese Naan (7) - So much gooey cheese inside. I could eat this by itself, but it was a great vessel for our dish.

Chicken Tikka Masala (16) - A good portion, but wish it came with rice / plain naan. This dish packs a good punch and I wanted soop up my plate

Ordered aloo paratha and chai. Parntha was too oily, flavorless and thick. Chai was absolute garbage, worse than hotel room tea. Server was friendly but service was too slow.

Food was not good at all, would not come again.

Chef Avi's Indian food is the best in the US. Everything on the menu is cooked with love and soul. Strongly recommend Kapoor's Akbar in DTLA.

So so good! And amazing service too.

Came here after my gym sesh at EOS. Ordered an all berry smoothie, chicken Tamattar, and lentil soup. Everything is al a carte so I ordered a side of basmati rice. Next time I def want to get the garlic naan.

The all berry smoothie was the perfect post workout drink! Super refreshing and fresh.

You can choose the spiciness level on any of your dishes (1 being mild, 4 being the spiciest).

The chicken tamattar was a coconut tomato based dish, similar to chicken tiki masala without the heavy cream.

The waiter brought out sauces and the Serrano mint one

Ordered from an online portal. Entrees do not include rice. Their online menu doesn't call this out, nor does it suggest to 'Add rice' like most 'A-la-carte' restaurants do. Called to raise the concern and the owner told me it was my fault and that he cannot call all 300 million people in the US to tell them their food doesn't come with rice. My point is, if I'm ordering 18$ Tikka Masala and 4$ Naan from a restaurant in East LA can you not include 25 cents worth of rice? If you cannot then I am willing to pay for it (Heck, I'm already $22 in) - Why not just

Tried to order delivery through DoorDash. I was promised delivery within 40 minutes but then it updated to say it would take 1.5 hours to deliver food 4 blocks away. Ended up cancelling the order. Will have my credit card company reverse the charges.

I order often since I live close by and it’s truly delicious and packed with flavor. The only reason I gave them 4 stars is because it’s super pricey to actually get enough food to be satisfied (usually end up spending $25-$30 just for myself). The food here is excellent 9 times out of 10, but every once in a while you get something that definitely didn’t taste as good as the last time you got it. Maybe different chefs? Either way, definitely a neighborhood favorite and some of the best Indian food around.

We ordered a takeout for dinner from Kapoor's Akbar Indian Restaurant. The lady at the reception taking the order was really helpful and smiling.
We ordered a tandoori chicken masala, chilean sea bass, bhindi and naan. I would say that the Chilean sea bass was expensive for the quantity and the taste. Other things were fine.
The restaurant was clean, well managed, and everyone was wearing masks. They did offer some discounts for ordering online which we did not know before we placed the order.
Overall, I would not say that I would highly recommend it but it's fine for a general take out. As

New addition to the restaurant offering is a unique "Indian street food menu" under the name Kati Roll Company -- for pick up, delivery and eat in the outside patio. The east-west coast competition Indian equivalent of "crust", the Kati has a more flaky, lighter crust and the Frankie a more substantial and doughy one out of naan. Available in bowls as well. We are always surprised that the DTLA place (with free parking inside the building!!) doesn't do SRO business.
Indian food updated by a third generation chef in a colorful, small place - "heat" not spiky peppers warm this food.

One of my most favorite Indian restaurants. I am rather picky with Indian food as I come from North India but the chef absolutely knows his food!

The most delectable cheese naan, garlic naan and chicken tikka masala. Also, their malai kofta is really good. Just be mindful of spice level!

The food is always served hot, even during take out.
I am a regular and don't ever miss a chance to order.

Must try!

Small portions. High prices that are nowhere near worth the value you will pay. Go elsewhere in town to enjoy good curry dishes. No rice with the main dishes. Poor quality. Didn't follow my request for instructions. Not a single good remark I can think of regarding this place.

Kapoor's Akbar definitely serves Amazing Indian food! My go to dish is the Chicken Tikka Masala, which I ordered yesterday. The Chicken Tikka Masala is the perfect spice with almonds and yellow raisins, which takes it to the next level. The lunch special is a generous portion. I highly recommend giving this restaurant a try as you won't be disappointed.

To top it off, the ambience and customer service is amazing!

We ordered a half-chicken tandoori, which came out to be closer in size to a quarter and was somewhat dry/drenched in the usual red food coloring. Next up was the Coco Lamba, which was absolutely swimming in oil; very unappetizing. In spite of being loaded with cardomom seeds and other spices, it was somewhat bland. They are also not generous with naan-- one order of garlic naan yielded a small, single piece. The one part of the order we enjoyed was the Bindhi masala, which was tangy without being overpoweringly so, and managed to avoid the sliminess that often characterizes okra dishes.

Solid Kati rolls. Ordered takeout at this place after our original plan on Friday night fell through. Covid has limited options, hours and availability, but flexibility and patience is key. After our first option wasn't an option, we talked about other places and possibly just giving up and eating whatever we had in the fridge. I came across Kapoor's and quickly called in the order for a mango lassi, Kati rolls, and fries because they were going to close soon.

There mango lassi was nice and thick, and not too sweet. The Kati rolls had a good flavor and were enough for one person (kinda

I always love Indian food AYCE. Have no chance of doing that due to COVID, so went to try this place out during Dine LA week.

I got there a bit after their promised time. There was a customer waiting inside the restaurant when I got there, so I chose to wait outside. After a bit, I went in again and see if I can get helped. My to-go order was not ready. (Dine in is not available )

While I was waiting inside the store, I tried to keep my distance with the others.

When I got the food, it was definitely not enough for 4 people as promised. And for this order, we got 1 Naan to share among 4 people

Wow what a surprising find! This place had enticed us teasingly with its misleading open sign for a long time. Downtown has no decent Indian restaurants, and so we (Brahma Loca and I) have been very ready for this to open. On the way to regular pho place for lunch in Chinatown, we saw people coming out, so we screeched to a stop.
The service was outstanding, the woman in the pomaded duck tail was very obliging and informative. The menu was very peculiar in a good way: it had all the regular northern Indian stuff, but it also had really odd things like pork vindaloo and blue crab curry, too. Of

People questioned me about Indian Food in Chinatown. Really?!?! Chinatown has much more than just Chinese or even Asian food, like Howlin' Rays (Hot Chicken), so why not Indian food?? Anyways, if you have a hankering for Indian food near DTLA, come here.

It is located on W. Cesar E. Chavez Blvd. There is a parking lot in the back (tricky to find) or you can try your luck with metered street parking. Once inside, I noticed the large picture on the wall as well as the smaller framed pictures. I liked the ambiance in the restaurant! It's a nice place for couples and groups!
