Since finally recovering my yelp back.. I have been so eager to review my favorite places in the LA/SO cal areas. I have had many, many years being in the food industry which is why I am lucky enough to be able to travel and eat at all these wonderful places. That being said, La Barca is my favorite Mexican place in LA. From the atmosphere, to the diligent service, and amazing food- coming here will blow your mind. If you are ever here, ask for Martin (I believe that's his name) he always gives the best dialogue and tells you which items to choose if you are ever stuck.

My family and I were out here visiting and my aunt recommended we come eat here. I have to say it was beyond delicious. I tried their steak enchiladas with a red sauce and and my aunt tried their shrimp fajitas. Both bomb.com. We even ordered food to go. I would visit this restaurant every time I visit and I would highly recommend that you would try it as well. You won't be disappointed!

Most memorable Mexican meal (didn't mean for all that alliteration, but can't change it now). Just walking in, I knew this was going to be a great place. Love the ambiance and the smell of freshly fried tortilla chips wafting through the air.
To compliment the chips was perhaps the freshest, most flavorful table salsa I've had. Bright and slightly spicy, I would have eaten it with a spoon if left to my own devices.
The flautas were incredibly delicious. Not overly greasy, a generous portion of chicken and really fresh chunky guacamole. Accompanied by perfectly textured rice

The service is outstanding. The waiters are super attentive and quick. Free parking lot in the back.
You get so much food for the price. My favorite is the chicken fajitas (so much meat)! The Colosol Burrito is massive! We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and I may have found my new favorite Mexican restaurant.

This establishment has lost a customer for ever. I have been coming to La Barca since I was a kid, approximately 50 years. The service use to be excellent. On my last three orders I have been given the wrong order or they forgot some part of the order. The cashier/hostess representing this establishment (see picture as she refused to give her name), has the worse customer service I have ever experienced. I asked to speak to manager and she hung up on me. I called back and she said there's no manager. Once again this person hung up on me again.

It's not so common that a restaurant will accommodate your needs and substitute your dish
La Barca definitely surprised me for the best
I ordered two tacos and asked no cheese, no onions (on the taco) and also to substituted the rice and beans to a salad or lettuce w/o dressing and no onions
I got exactly what I wanted.
And will comeback again

My granddaughter and I stopped here to have lunch and kill some time. I was surprised, The food was quick and very delicious, what made this stop even more delightful was the customer service. Our waiter was so attentive without being obtrusive. We were never rushed and the atmosphere was relaxing. La Barca unfortunately is not very close to me but I will definitely make this a permanent place to eat when ever I travel down to USC.

We were having lunch here for the first time and this place was over hyped by too many. The host service was terrible. She had a bad attitude and gave us the least visible table. The runner brought us water with dirty dishware. Chips and salsa are stale. I looked forward to see what all the hype was about. I know better Mexican restaurants than this plane tasting disappointment. I feel that this place has no authenticity to its dishes. Simple store bought sauces is what it reminds me of. But That's Just my opinion.

Slow service, I think they even forgotten us. My burrito lacked flavor & the texture was wrong. Portion sizes are big but so are the price. 😬 They might benefit from smaller portions & prices. Also place was VERY noisy when we were there. Staff & kitchen seemed to be VERY FRANTIC - even for a restaurant.

This has been my favorite local Mexican restaurant for years, I've been a loyal customer throughout the pandemic as well. Today I placed an order for enchiladas and they forgot to add the enchiladas. I called to complain and they told me the cook said the order was correct, which it was not. When I pressed further the woman told me they if I had any other issues to contact Uber eats. The correct thing to do was offer a replacement even if I had to go pick it up myself. They've lost a customer of over 15 years and I will no longer dine here.

So cmon in...have a margarita. Have chile colorodo, hard shell tacos or just chips and salsa.

Yummmm Food was super yummy, the waiters were very helpful and attentive. We went for an evening out right before foot traffic rolled in, we were so thankful for that, there was a line and wait time after us, with people waiting outside in groups of 4/6, I am not surprised. Don't judge a book by its cover this place really impressed me, it was absolutely beautiful once they turned on the outside lights (: I recommend, 5 STARS !
