This place is pretty decent. Patrice,Iresha, Deya,Melinda and a Nurse named "Elle" are the BEST nurses I had they felt like family. Shelby, Lauren and Aisha are the best If you need anything or have a issue they are ON IT. Mr. Brooks the cleaning man is the SWEETEST and the others you have to tell the them to open the windows bc they use bleach. The food is great although sometimes they make no sense. The Residents here you have to get use to and other nurses as well but this place I would feel safe to put a loved one for sure.

First of all I would give a Half Star if I could. If you love your mom, dad, grandmother or grandfather do NOT put them here. Run as fast as you can from here. Notice when you read the reviews all the good ones are from people who are there for rehab.. The residents are treated completely different. Family is not informed of their health, they are left in their bed in pain. When you call to speak to your family you are told they don't have time to bring them to the phone. I was called when my dad was dying. That's when they call you. Thank God I lived close enough to follow his ambulance to the

I usually don't do reviews but I wanted to share my experience here. My grandmother got sick and things got super hard for my family. It was a really hard decision but we decided to look for a place that we could send her to. We discovered Glen Island Center from a recommendation from a good friend. This place is truly amazing and has the nicest staff. They really are so caring and we honestly feel that our GiGi is in great hands. I’m so thankful we found them and for the amazing work they do! We would recommend them to anyone.

I am such a fan of this place! Recently, before COVID became what it was, my family had to find a place to house my grandpa. We heard about Glen Island Center for Nursing & Rehab from a family friend. We chose them because they were in a good location for family to visit him. The office staff are super sweet and answered all of our questions regarding cost and care. They had to deal with questions from not only my parents but my aunts and uncles. When we went to admit grandpa, we were pleased that the building and grounds are well maintained. Seeing how much they care for the facility - we knew

Don't. Just don't. The staff is overworked and underpaid. They have no real assistance for residents with Alzheimer's or dementia. Patients screaming from their room is commonplace. Doctor's visits are cursory at best, especially the psychiatrist. Luckily the psychologist, Dr. Holt, is excellent, as are the recreation staff. Amanda and her team do their best to make us feel somewhat normal here. Other than that i have nothing good to say. I have been a resident here for 3 years and have FINALLY decided to change facilities after my next surgery in a month. The administration

The staff - nurses, rehab, PT - were all friendly and helpful, my dad received quality care. The admissions process was very easy and smooth, and I felt my dad (who needed short term rehab after some falls) was in good hands. His complaint was about the food - he's on a low salt diet, which was even stated on his menu pages, yet a lot of the food was too salty for him.

We are looking for a dementia unit for my dad. Facility was ok looking. The outside space seemed nice. Our tour guide seemed like a salesman. The elevator security didn't seem all that great. Not sure how the food was. Nursing staff seemed nice while we were there. Residents can bring whatever they would like to the facility.

0 stars in my book. I felt terrible that the conditions were poor. The nurses were very good but rather unhappy in their work environment and the patients ranged from unhappy to just accepting what it was.
My father died there and should never have happened and was handled poorly. There was a few nurses I became close with and liked but food to wait times were bad news. Sad conditions surely to be a result of New York's poor health care system.
