Plumeria is the flower most associated with Hawaiian culture and is known as "the flower of love and aloha". In Hawaiian, the word aloha, a term of well-wishing, is thought to have originally been derived from the words alo, meaning "share", and ha meaning "essence of life". It is used in Hawaii to communicate both hello and goodbye.

For any mental health professional ready to embark on the private practice journey Plumeria would be a wonderful place to begin that process. If the idea of starting a private practice excites and simultaneously overwhelms you this would be an opportunity for you to experience a thriving practice without having to manage the stress of what for some can feel like confusing and challenging administrative tasks. With a constant stream of referrals it was easy to experience a robust caseload without being distracted by paneling and billing responsibilities. Now that I have had that experience, I feel

I had 1 or 2 appointments and disappeared (other bills got too expensive and I'm a student so kinda broke at the time). I finally went back for another appointment and the therapist/counselor told me they'd follow up if I stopped appointments again, due to the nature of what was going on in my life then. I had to cancel the next appointment and there was no follow-up.

Plumeria is a fantastic resource in the South Austin Community. Michelle Zadrozny, the clinical director, has been a colleague of mine for years and is a fabulous clinician, leader and mentor. Michelle has a heart for helping others and has a wealth of knowledge of mental health as well as community resources.

I’ve going to see Rebecca for several months now and it’s been a wonderful experience. She’s so kind and patient. Our sessions are helping out a lot and I really feel the front desk paired me with the perfect therapist. I felt I could open up to her from our first appointment because I felt very comfortable with her right away. I’m so glad I found this place!

Made an appointment only to find out that therapist never works on the particular day of my appointment. I wait an hour for another (very kind) therapist who agreed to see me after her last session as I had already shifted my schedule around. It went well enough but I decided to move on. Never got a good explanation for how I got an appointment for someone who wasn't there.

I have been coming to Plumeria for about six months now. I was paired with a counselor in the student clinic and she has helped me tremendously. The price for the student clinic is really affordable and my counselor has been very professional and incredibly insightful. I would like to think that the other counselors are the same way. Whenever I see them in the reception area they always greet me with a friendly smile. I have not yet had issues with scheduling or the reception staff. They are always friendly and happy to help me figure out what works best for my schedule. I have loved my experience

I was helped by a wonderful counselor/intern there who took me in and worked with me while being pregnant and abused. We decided what I was going through was not normal and outlined safe ways to get out or even just express my fears. When she left we were then directed to a lead counselor there. Instead of focusing on self care or leaving the help shifted from myself to them, and 'getting my husband the help and support' he needed to change....which turned into victim blaming, personal boundaries being invaded, his abuse validated, and agist excuses for his aggression not including asking for information

Highly disappointed with this place. I had ONE appointment and while I liked the therapist, I woke up sick with a fever on the day of my next appointment and they said I'd have to pay $40 for a cancellation fee. Really? I didn't ask to get a fever or be sick? I told them to skip it altogether and I'd find another place in Austin. Not caring people here. Oh, did I mention no one ever told me about the cancellation fee either??????

This place is a straight up joke! If you're looking for professional objectivity when it comes to resolving conflicts within your family, this is not the place. If you are looking to pay some one to shoot the breeze, then go here. From the front desk secretaries to the "counselors", it's obvious they'll just say what they can to collect your money without any real thoughtful consideration to professional service.
