We were excited to find that they have the wood we have been looking for, and they seem to have a great selection of stuff in the store for just about any project. We were quite surprised, however, by the attitude from the people behind the counter. Very unprofessional towards us. Then as I was walking around the store, I overheard one calling a customer "a**hole" after the customer was put on hold. I work in a customer service role myself, I know it can get challenging, people can be difficult. However, that frustration, irritation, bad attitude shouldn't be reflected out there for everyone to

I've lived in Bremerton since January 1984. I've only ever been in this store twice in all that time. Years ago I purchased a 55 gallon drum from them. A few months ago I went there to look for a post hole digger.
Right away I noticed a sign advising the customers to be more kind to their employees. Employees are supposed to be trained on how to deal with difficult people. A second sign informed that they no longer accept cash, period. I asked them why.
Their answers were; 1). we don't want to get robbed and 2). cash changes hands too many times and who knows what is

Huge fan of Kitsap Lumber! The staff is always helpful and friendly (it always helps when you're nice to the staff, too, by the way!). 9 times out of 10 they have exactly what I need and save me a trip across town to Lowe's. One of few local businesses that has strictly adhered to COVID protocols without fail the past year and I absolutely applaud them for that. Thanks for being such a reliable business in our community!!

I paid for 15 pieces of 1*8 16ft pieces of lumber and nd the only had 6 left in stock. So they ordered them in I picked up the six today that I bought them and they marked it down wrong and marked it that I picked up nine instead of six now they have three on the shelf after I picked up my order they are saying that they are theirs and they are clearly mine because they had to oder them in. I'm calling my credit card next. I can't believe anyone runs a business like this. It's very easily fixed if you look at your stock. Should have ordered them at home depot

So scared of covid they don't help the customer.
This was the second time I have been in this week to get stove parts. And what you have done in the name of covid-19 is disturbing. Not only are you no longer taking cash but also checks. This is discriminatory towards the poor and elderly. As both those groups predominantly use cash. You are running all transactions as credit, which means your casher hands me a dirty pen to sign a dirty piece of paper on a dirty clipboard. When we asked for help she stood 20 feet away. So we could not hear understand what she was saying. Rather the actual help

I was looking for 10ft pieces of screen molding to improve a rickety stair railing. I found this gem of a hardware store with the straightest 3/4" x 10' hemlock you have ever seen and at half the price of the bent wood at the big box stores.
The place is like the handyman basement shop. Everything you would ever need and some stuff you wished you had. And this dream shop comes with the most delightful help. All three of the front desk staff and the yard folks were happy and very helpful. Just great.
Bremerton and Kitsap county you got a gem here. Before driving to any big box to dodge

Kitsap Lumber has been my family's go-to hardware and lumber store for more years than I can remember. All our stoves, sheds, docks, and supplies have come from here! The staff is extremely helpful and educated, and it's the kind of place to go to for any home or business project--big or small. At other stores or big-box locations, when you ask for help the employees don't even know what aisle to point you towards, let alone tell you how to complete a project. Kitsap Lumber staff genuinely care and know what they are talking about. Plus it's family owned and a true Bremerton
