Services
Jerry and Kevin, funeral service licensees, worked for a large funeral home in Richmond combining over 60 years of experience. Their father and mentor, John Monaghan had over 40 years of service in the funeral industry before his passing in 2004. We want to make sure every family feels as if they are our own and to make the experience as painless and dignified as possible.
We are proud to say this is our first and only location. It is a homey, elegant building with new construction and only 6 years old. With brighter colors and updated finishes, the interior has a soothing feel, which makes anyone feel at home and at peace. We have the ability to serve any family at any time in our three visitation rooms and beautiful chapel.
For thousands of years, craftsmen and artisans have appreciated the beauty of bronze and copper. Bronze and copper are among the most durable of metals, which makes them ideal for the construction of caskets. In 1963, Batesville Casket Company became the first manufacturer to mass-produce bronze and copper caskets, creating production systems that make these products affordable to a wider segment of the population.
The selection of the urn is very important since it provides a dignified receptacle for the cremated remains. The urn can become the focal point at a memorial service and can serve as a permanent memorial to the deceased. The type of urn selected depends on what you wish to do with the cremated remains after the cremation.

"Burt" Olsen helped us deal with making the arrangements after my father's passing. He was very polite and helpful. He never once pushed us to do anything or spend anything. He listened to our requests and explained everything thoroughly. There was no deposit or up front payments required. I highly recommend that you at least consider Monaghan Funeral Home if you are in need of funeral services.

I just want to say Monaghan Funeral Home and Cremation Services is by far the best Funeral Home out her. I am a 28yr old and had to lay my grandmother/mother to rest. I was lost hurt and didn't know where to even start. They were fast when they came to pick her upit was maybe a hour after I left that Tammy called me and reassured me they everything had been taken care of. Set me up a appointment that evening to come in and have a talk she worked with my schedule. Tammy is the sweetest lady you will ever meet she made me feel as if I was family did not rush me or try to upsale me on a thing. She

The experience of losing a loved one is never easy, but the folks at Monaghan made the process of final arrangements as stress-free as I could ever have imagined. I also found their services to be very reasonably priced, and the personalized care you receive is incomparable. Burt & Tammy are kind, thoughtful, and thorough. They took great care of our family and I would recommend them 100%.

My Papa, TD Lett, suddenly passed away 8 weeks ago from COVID. It was such a shock to my whole family - we simply had no idea where to start with his funeral arrangements - denial was the first step of beginning to grieve his death and we definitely were not ready to plan his funeral. My Papa always told us he never wanted a funeral but my mom and our family needed some form of closure with my Papa. Mom was a mess (as expected when your Dad passes away) as were her sisters and the rest of our family - we began to call around to multiple funeral homes but everything was way out of our price range

We just had a Beautiful Remembrance service with many others who lost a love one this year along with great food and fellowship. Monaghan Funeral Home treats you like family and they truly care about all the families they serve. They go above and beyond the call during a difficult time, and they invited the family back with all the other families to help us through the Christmas season. I don't think I have ever experienced this before with other Funeral Homes.

Eric was excellent in making sure that everything was taken care of for my Mother-in-law's Memorial Service before she was transported to Rhode Island. Mom was taken care of as if she were his own Mom. She looked beautiful and the flowers were positioned nicely. Monaghan's went out of their way to make sure all of our needs were taken care of. I would highly recommend them to all of my friends and clients. The Memorial Service was beautiful and our needs were taken care of very professionally. Thank you!
