Igor Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Academy

The staff is incredibly encouraging and inclusive when dealing with children. My 3-year-old son was naturally hesitant to participate at first, but he couldn’t help but be drawn into the friendly and comfortable environment that still espouses the ideals of self discipline and focus.
After every class, he leaves filled with confidence and enthusiasm to the point of inspiration, where now his older sister has joined him; his older cousins plan to begin training at Igor Gracie’s new Eastchester location; and even I - his father - am dreaming about rekindling my involvement in the martial arts

This is a first rate academy. The coaches are all very experienced and they articulate Jiu Jitsu very well. It is a very warm environment and family friendly. You cannot go wrong here whether you are an adult who wants to train or have your children learn valuable skills. It is also a great place for older adults who might feel they are past their prime. Igor Gracie’s is an excellent academy. .

Top notch place to learn Jiu-Jitsu. Professor Igor and Professor Joao are always engaged with their students. Somehow they see everything the students are doing and are able to give gentle, pertinent, feedback immediately. They are not only black belts in their art, they are black belts in teaching. They are super attentive, knowledgeable, humble, respectful and fair. Simply good dudes who are Jiu-Jitsu masters and know how to teach.

My sons have been going here for a couple of years, since they were 3 and 4 years old. Igor and the instructors are respectful men who look you in the eye and have a firm handshake. Real men. The jujitsu is teaching them to be solid people and have strong character, plus the dodgeball game at the end is fun! They absolutely love it and we feel like family.

The classes here are great! The instructors are friendly and welcoming and encourage every student to work to their highest potential. My daughter has gained strength and confidence while training at Igor Gracie Academy over the past year.

My son started training here over a year ago. He absolutely loves it! The instructors are AMAZING! They have so much patience, enthusiasm and expertise to teach a room full of kids! They make it a point to greet every parent in the waiting room, welcome each kid with a warm greeting and make everyone feel welcome! I would recommend this place to everyone!!!

All of the instructors were amazing with my son, they were firm, fair, welcoming and very attentive. They created an environment that my son was happy and eager to go to as often as possible. He learned a lot and we plan to continue instruction.

Excellent school. The quality of instruction and knowledge of the instructors is excellent. All the staff is friendly and always welcomes you by name. What I really like is that 95% of the classes are taught by Igor himself. It's great to learn from an actual Gracie! I highly recommend this school.
