Traditional Italian dish with kale greens & cannellini beans simmered in a white garlic sauce. Classic Italian homemade meatballs with ground beef, bread & milk simmered in tomato sauce. This traditional thick handmade pasta was born in Elice, a very small town in the Abruzzo region of Italy. Literally translated as the "pasta of the miller's wife", today the pasta alla mugnaia is considered one of the culinary gems of the Abruzzo cuisine.
Being 'locked in' was made so much more enjoyable with Mamma G's TAKE OUT. The food is delicious and they really make it easy to stop in and pick up a delicious meal. The RAVIOLI is perfect for my vegetarian preferences, and my husband started off with AFFETTATO ITALIANO, but he loves the LINGUINE ALLE VONGOLE in oil and garlic that he ate it all.

We have a 2 yr old and they were so kind and accommodating. Definitely recommend if you have kids. The owner even brought over a booster without us asking!
We did make reservations and it was pretty busy for a 10° Rochester Tuesday. I'm from a big Italian family and I definitely approve of the food. Good food, good service and a good time.

Ordered the eggplant zucchini parm and it was so ,overdone. It was extremely mushy. I ordered it with the homemade pasta and that was over cooked as well. I was going to send it ,back no but we were in in an appointment day and could not wait for something else. The bread was really good and the service was as well. We are not from the area and have been in three times once it was great and the other two times not. We thought we would try again. No more. We can make it at home .

They aren't winning any interior decorating award. If you want fake decor and gussied-up, Americanized dishes maybe you head somewhere else. If you want to dine where Italians recognize the food, hit this spot.

Fresh pasta? Real fresh pasta outside of Italy? I'm in love! I definitely have not had fresh pasta in the Rochester area, even when the restaurant states they have fresh pasta. The portions are huge and the staff are friendly. If you area looking for a super fancy place, this is not it. But the food is delicious and reasonably priced. Chicken parmigiana with fresh pasta for $16? Yes please.

First time trying this restaurant as a local of Rochester - was hopeful based on the 4.5 stars on Yelp.
The formaggio fritto and homemade pastas were pretty good, however the lasagnas (timballo vegetariano and chicken stracciatella) tasted like they were filled with canned/frozen food. It was disappointing.
I would give this restaurant another chance but maybe stick with the homemade pasta only.

My go to Italian restaurant in the Henrietta area for food that really feels as though it's home made. Pretty much can go wrong with any entrée that they have, but some of my personal homemade pasta dishes include the chicken Parmesan, gnocci and pasta alla mugnia! I've only ever considered to go because of the current pandemic climate, however every time the order has been spot on with delicious food and heaping portions. A must try for those in Rochester.

OOOooohhhh finally an Italian place that I go back to! As of this review, my bf and I have gotten takeout at Mama G's twice in a span of about 2 months! If you are going to eat in or get takeout, especially on the weekends, I highly highly highly recommend calling ahead before you go in or call about an hour before you intended stay at home dinner. They are always busy it seems.
