Walter Doshna began offering his personalized auto repair service and care in 1985. After years of working as a professional mechanic and tool dealer, Walt saw the need to offer his friends and customers personalized, quality auto care and service. He started repairing cars in a hobby shop in the back of his house.
Let us be your repair shop of choice. Insurance companies cannot steer you to specific body shops, or require you to get multiple estimates. Outside towing services can also drop off your vehicle at any time of the day or weekend. For vehicles left after our business hours, the keys should be left in our drop box with a name, phone number, and repair information.

I needed some minor body repair work done to my car. Larry Z was phenomenal. Kind, professional, accommodating. Communication through the entire process was spot on. I showed up today to a repaired car that looked better and is a LOT cleaner than what was left with them last week. They even provided me with a zippy, cute Honda Civic as a loaner for the week. I highly recommend Walt’s for all of your automotive needs.

Stopped in a couple of days ago to schedule a detail package for my car. Staff was super professional and efficient, and we set up the service for today. Just picked up the car, and they did a great job. I got the $130.00 package, which emphasizes the interior, and it's fantastic. And, once again, the folks in the office were terrific as well. I'll definitely use them again for my detailing needs, and I recommend them enthusiastically.

Excellent Job! I brought in a tire that I needed mounted and balanced, and I also needed to replace all my lug-nuts on custom wheels. The technician took EXTRA care by using electrical tape around the lug-nut socket in order to ensure that he/she did not damage the paint on my wheels. This is what I call professional and detailed!

My AC went out on my drive north to the University. Following a recommendation I was able to get an appointment at Walts.
They were on time, knowledgeable about the repairs and extremely fair with their pricing. They really saved the day for us.

It’s the only place that I will take my SUV and my Kids” small, foreign cars, for any work, I have trusted them for over 20 years and they’ve always done right by me. Now we have my son’s ‘10 Audi A4 we took there for a bunch of issues, because of course it would have issues, it’s an Audi and we bought it from a private seller..I don’t think I’ll do that again unless I have them checked thoroughly first (He just got it, too, his first car) . they fixed it all today, and kept in good communication throughout the day. Some say they’re pricey, but I don’t think so, We’ve paid

2 stars for offering online appointment requests. No more than that for having no one following up on requests. Sent in a request for 2 services because I had a car that wasn't running. Recieved an email that someone would call me to set something up to help me. 3 full work days later and I have yet to receive a call. Good thing I already had it towed and fixed in the first day that I contacted another shop.

Nobody ever wants to have to use an auto mechanic. It's never a fun time when your car starts making funny noises or driving not-quite-right. To add to my despair, I previously had a preferred mechanic in the area (Masello's), however, since I started working downtown, the logistics of taking my car to that shop have gotten more challenging. Luckily, Walt's is not too far from where I work, and after seeing good reviews online/hearing recommendations from coworkers, I decided to take my car there. I called ahead and made sure they'd be able to get me in-- the office staff

Took my car in for the first time today and I will definitely be coming back for any and all future auto repair/servicing needs! Everyone I spoke to was extremely friendly and helpful. I called on my lunch to see if they could get me in around 4:45 when they close at 5:30 for an inspection. The woman who answered was pleasant and said she couldn't guarantee it but I should bring it in and they'd see what they could do.

I was looking for a quality trustworthy mechanic when my check engine light came out after moving to the area. I had seen a lot of great reviews for this place so I decided to give them a call. They're the only place I take my car now. They're extremely reasonable with what they charge you and they'll never try and screw you over. They do great work and they always get your car back to you in record time, and the time you do spent waiting is very comfortable as the waiting area is very nice. I'm no expert on cars but they always explain everything to me very clearly so I know

Friendly customer service on the phone when I asked if I could bring my vehicle in for an inspection same day. I didn't require a reservation which was great. They were done within 30 mins and had a few recommendations for future and not urgent needs of the vehicle. Overall very happy with the genuine service from the staff member at the desk and the techs who I spoke with for a moment when leaving the shop. Definitely will be back for future services at Walt's!

Excellent auto mechanic shop!! My Son’s family car was driving really rough and getting worse. Because he had to leave for training, I wanted to get the vehicle in top running condition before I left myself, and Walt’s Automotive got right on it!! I didn’t arrive until late afternoon and there was actually extensive work to be done on the brakes… and drive train. They assessed the vehicles issues, showed me exactly what the damage was, and immediately got to work on it. By five o’clock they were done and the vehicle drove like a new ride!! The pricing was really fair

I was driving my son's car today when it happened to die right in front of their shop in the middle of the road with cars backing up behind me. I ran in, frantic, and they calmed me down and reassured me. A bunch of guys came out and pushed my car down the road, around the corner, and into their shop. I got a ride back to work and a couple hours… later the car was fixed! They even worked with us a little bit on the price when we weren't planning such a big expenditure! Claude was great to work with and I will definitely use them again if the need arises! 😊

Reasonably priced with fast and efficient service. All of the mechanics are knowledgeable and friendly and, most importantly, I trust them. They always call me before starting any work and take the time to explain the problem in layman's terms. If they say something costs a certain amount, that's the amount you will be charged when you go to pick up your car. No surprises, no sneaky attempts to rip their customers off. Just a bunch of great people doing good, honest work. If you are a student, a woman, or even just someone who may not be very mechanically inclined, go to Walt's.

Fours times now I've been in for various break downs and services. They are very communicative on what issues arise and anything that may need to be looked into in the future. Offer the best rates around and parts pricing. They do not take shortcuts because they want you coming back. Had shocks that were leaking and in poor condition a day after the alignment shop took the vehicle in and check off that the shocks were in good condition. Thanks to them for pointing it out and providing a quick one day turnaround.

They have helped me on 2 seperate occasions and I will continue to spread the word and come back.
They could probably do everything car related.
(i would call to get that confirmed though)
My friend's car battery died on W genesee and one of their guys came to the rescue! They sent him our way, he jumped, and changed a new battery in under an hour!
they get me in and out in under 10 minutes for tire pressure check.
They do auto body repairs too.
I won't go anywher else while I'm in this area!

Two words to describe Walt's automotive service: quick and efficient. I sent in a request for an appointment in their online messaging system and got a call five minutes afterward saying they could take me. I drove over right away. They are located across the street from Dinosour BBQ but Google maps instructions will take you to the front of their shop, which is on the right of Bamboo Asian Restaurant. We've been with Walts for 5 years and have recommended them to other people who also love them! Regardless if my husband goes or I go myself, we always feel comfortable and line we got the best deal. We've been there for major repairs and I've gone myself to ask questions, always nice always professional.
We recently moved across the country and wish we could take this place with us. But they have still supported us! They took phone calls and answered questions and even sent our entire service history via email when we asked. These guys are amazing.
