They change up their rates?? Idk why. Otherwise the rooms were clean and don't smell, everything worked, and had no issues. This hotel is actually nicer inside than the one next to them that appear to be the nicer of the two. Not so. I was surprised. It would be really nice to show some gratitude to the loyal customers whom continue to rent by discounting them instead of raising the rent. Just a suggestion, is all. Thanks -

Worst hotel ever stayed. The man who took our card was very rude. He made me and my two girl friends pay 5$ deposit on the room, can you believe 5 dollars!! And when we asked for a receipt for the 5$ deposit he said sorry no receipt on this low of a bill. Reason we had to stay here was our 11:45 pm flight got canceled so we had to stay some where last minute due to it being so late and all hotels are booked!! Don't ever come here I feel sick sleeping on this bed

It was a last minuet put me anywhere stop. Every other place was booked. The place was very clean i was expecting worst but very surprised with the cleanliness and kindness at the front desk. We canceled our 4 star and stayed her to save some cash. We have 2 king beds for 4 of us. It ended up being around $142 with tax FREE parking. There is a gas station close and fast food.

I'm not one to write a review, so having to download Yelp and come on here to write my worst stay at a hotel says something. I stayed here about a couple days ago, I called to ask how much they were charging a night, the man first said "$90", then when i show up he completely changed the price to $150 (I paid since every other hotel was booked). The room smelled funky/moldy. Bed sheets were ripped. Outdated furniture. Tv didn't work whatsoever. Towels were dirty. Seemed like they didn't pass by to clean the room since there was still someone's stool inside the toilet

The Royal Inn is a nice little place. The room we had was very clean everything was in excellent repair, and everything work just right. The carpet was in good condition the bed was in good condition the lights all work the sink and shower were wonderful. We're just happy. Now the place has three stories and no elevator. So beware if you need a lower floor. We were happily on the first floor and it made parking so easy and just walking into our room. It's very close to the airport. And South San Francisco is just a wonderful town. So would I recommend this place? Price performance it

If i could give this half a star, i would.
checked in at about 11:30pm. when we walked in the room is just smelt completely funky. Turns out when we go open the fridge to put some groceries in, there was a nice present for us; a nice DEAD SMELLY FISH. who knows how long that was there for.
We went to tell the front desk about it and the man working didn't really seem to care, i'm sure he was hoping the situation would fix itself. Pretty Bad if you ask me. horrible service, horrible location, horrible horrible

Well I wasn't impressed to say the least I would have went to Motel 6 if I knew what I was getting it was three stories up with no elevator and the room stunk like a cat has been in it. For $135 I would have opted for a different place but I thought it was a step up from the others it's old but mostly just stinks with an odor

Worst hotel I have ever set foot in! Staff is rude, place smells like a bathroom, it's dirty, and on top of that I tried canceling before I even saw my room because it was such a poor environment, but they still charged me for the night and for a more expensive room. This place is absolutely TERRIBLE

I stayed here a few months ago. My first room was on a upper floor and due to an injury I wasn't able to walk up the stairs (there are no elevators here). so I requested a room in the lower floor. The manager gave me the room made for people with handicaps on the first floor.
The room was filthy and was not made up. There are cockroaches in both the floor of the main room and in the bathroom. Speaking of, the shower room was also filthy. I would not stay here again.

Every hotel that I searched for was $100-200 more than this one which is what influenced my choice, though I knew that the hotel wasn't too spectacular. It was a two floored inn that used a key card for the room and had a fairly good A/C system (if needed).
The location has a good amount of fast food restaurants and grocery stores nearby, too.

I've since stayed at the Royal Inn about 12 times in the last 5 months. My rating has changed a bit...
They just raised their rates from $109/night to $135/night. It really isn't worth that money if you are just leisure guests, you could find a nicer room for that price in the immediate area.
The rooms are still nice, and clean from what I can tell with my naked eye (I watch a lot of Forensic Files...)
It remains a no-frills motel - 3 tiny bars of soap, 3 (cheap) plastic cups, 4 rough and rather thin towels. But room does have fridge and microwave in it.
