I don’t live in Connecticut but that doesn’t stop me from practicing with these beauties! Their online zoom classes are amazing. Lori and the crew are truly inspiring teachers, you will never be bored in their class!

Shocked to see only 16 reviews for this studio. I have traveled to Kodiak Alaska, Petaluma, CA, St. Louis, Tokyo, Nome, Honolulu, and points afar. None of the studios came remotely close to this. Maybe it was the home studio. But, no, it wasn't. I still remember names. Lori? Barry? Maybe I'm mixing up my yogis. This studio was hot for me back when Dice I'ida Klein was just getting started on Yogaglo. Balanced was serious. Packed. The flows never repeated. I was doing handstand vinyasas and cooling off in mid-winter temperatures outside after. Maybe things have changed in the years since, but I

I've taken hot yoga classes for almost 10 years now and this is the only studio where I could complete a 20-day challenge. In just 3 weeks, I lost 15 lbs and gained a comforting sense of clarity about a few life-changing decisions I was making at the time. Their instructors are really passionate about teaching and helping each and every student in the class grow. I am thankful for and highly recommend Tobie, Lori, and Jesse - they'll keep you coming back for more! :)

Great studio, I went there several years ago and had Lori Love as an instructor she was enthusiastic and very knowledgeable, I went there again yesterday, good news, Ms. Love still loves what she does. she has a way of making everyone feel good about there practice. Truly a humble soul making the world a better place. If your in New Haven stop by you will not be disappointed. PS I'm 57 years old and have been doing yoga all over the world since the 80's this studio and Ms. Love are stand outs. Peace

Very sweet and homey studio. The style is a unique vinyasa flow with incredible attention to technicalities. The instructor was perfect. I wish they had this studio in NYC.

The staff at Balanced are helpful, friendly and loving. The teachers at Balanced are talented, committed and passionate. The parking lot could use expanding (maybe a change of location at some point?) but other than that, a wonderful facility and community. Namaste!

Balanced Yoga is one of the best studios I've ever been to; definitely the best in New Haven! Great spacious room with heat, passionate teachers, great ambiance, average price and no judgement. My favorite class so far is Barry's Tuesday morning class, equipped with uplifting music, "wild card" time, and various moments for reflection and self-love. I only wish I could afford to go more often!

My review is loooong overdue. First of all, I actually NEVER do reviews but for Balanced I had to do one because Balanced Yoga is simply amazing. My family and I are moving to NYC in a couple of weeks and the saddest thing about the move is being away from Balanced. Since I started going in October 2013, I have been hooked to this place. It's clean, inviting and warm.

The teachers are phenomenal! They are all different and complementary. Before Balanced, I had practiced Ashtanga for 5 years but had never done a proper chaturanga dandasana. In fact my alignment was off for so many poses.

I am mildly obsessed with Balanced. I've done a variety of classes in NYC but everytime I am home in New Haven, I make it a point to come in. the class has great energy but is also relaxing and i love how the flow is different every time but includes all the elements one needs in a class. and compared to NYC prices...$18 for a drop in is fantastic :)

I love Balanced Yoga! All of the instructors are passionate about yoga and about teaching which is apparent in each class. It's a comfortable, clean, welcoming space to learn and grow within your practice. The teachers welcome each student regardless of level of practice and provide positive encouraging feedback.
Lori's classes are energetic and challenging. Definitely the class for you if your looking to stretch, sweat and experience an incredible workout! Thank you everyone at balanced for giving me the gift of yoga!

I started a week special with Balanced to give it a try.

There seemed to be some issues with scheduling and manners and attitude of the owner who sometimes makes people feel uncomfortable. I tried to go to a 7:45 class at 7:41, and the door to the lobby was locked. A man was leaving the class currently going on, and I whispered to ask him if he knew what was happening. The owner comes out of the practice, rudely tells us to"be quiet," and walks back into the studio. If she waited a moment maybe she would have been able to give me some insight to what was happening! At this point I was

Balanced is the place that introduced me to yoga and that helped me advance my practice. I will be forever grateful for all they have taught me.

The problem is that the space is changing, and some of these changes are important for the consumer to know. The studio is rapidly outgrowing its space. This translates into an insanely crowded parking lot. Many of the newer patrons do not fully understand that it is not "yoga-like" to fight over parking spaces. There have been numerous occasions where I have had to park at MacDonald's and cross the street. For those of you that know

Great studio and welcoming to ALL levels of yoga. I brought a friend there recently who had never done yoga in her life! The class was a challenge but everyone in the class, including the instructor, made her feel so loved and welcomed. It was so encouraging to her - she now LOVES yoga and wants to continue doing it. I personally practice yoga regularly on my own but just love going to this studio - your never judged on how good you can do a pose, and you don't get that "stuffy" feeling you might get at other studios. It is worth the investment and time to check out balanced yoga studio! You will

This was my first time doing yoga and not being the most flexible person, I did not know how much I would like it. The classes and instructors are amazing. They never push you out of your comfort zone and always tell you that you are welcome to take a break at any time if it gets too hot or strenuous. However, they are extremely encouraging for you to go to the next level and test your boundaries. They always ask if there is anyone new to the class so they know who is completely new and will correct your technique so you don't hurt yourself. They are hands on if you are welcome to that, but always

This is easily the best yoga studio I have ever been to, and I've practiced in Boston, New Haven, New York, New Orleans, and DC.
I was only in New Haven for a week visiting family, but this yoga studio made me want to move. No joke. I told my family that. They were hoping I'd move to see them.

It's really laid back and the staff is really nice. The instructors they have are incredible. I've never had more challenging classes, but never accomplished that much in a week. I've been practicing for a long time so maybe I was due for some improvements, but I came out of that

I should say up front that the only reason this doesn't get 5 stars is because I nearly died on my first visit. It has nothing to do with the establishment!

The waiting room is on the smaller side, but is clean and they offer towels for $1 if you forgot yours! It was a little chaotic when one class ended and our class was trying to go in- trying to shuffle past 40 people in a small space initiated the sweating... The Wednesday night class was very full, not sure if they have a limit to how many people they let in each class....

Now, Im not new to yoga, but I had never tried Bikram before

Balanced yoga provides a hot athletic vinyasa yoga class, so if you are looking for a class where you can really get lost in the meditation of flowing asanas and sweat so much that you feel fully cleansed this is a great place. I am a fan of both hot and regular yoga so I recommend trying lots of different things to see what you like best. It seems like they might have a couple of non-heated classes but it is mainly hot. The good thing is that it was only heated to around 90 so isn't as stifling as some bikram classes I have been to. The prices are fair and they have different prices for

Let's get this out of the way: I have never been to another yoga studio. So how can I give it 5 stars you wonder? Simple. The instructors (all of them) are extremely passionate about yoga. They are not just athletic trainers playing at this, this is part of who they are. The practices are educational, informative, and they constantly give positive feedback and corrections. Every practice is the hardest work out I ever had, and I have been training athletically my entire life. The studio is heated, which is great for my piano wire-tight hamstrings - everything loosens up so much quicker
