At Your Community Yoga Center, we are a group of dedicated teachers and practitioners who believe that Yoga should be fun, healing and ultimately transformative. Classes are offered in a range of levels and styles so you can craft the practice that's just right for you. Now more than ever we recognize the importance of community, so we leave time before & after class for students and teachers to connect.
We have a philosophy that sets us apart from other studios in the area. Read about how we got started, get to know our instructors, and meet our community partners. All of our yoga classes are live-streamed on Zoom, and most of our classes are also available in person for those who are fully vaccinated and masked.

Services
YCYC gladly partners with other local businesses in Whitneyville, to foster our community and our local economy! Whitney Cultural Commons fosters independent local businesses, connecting them in useful and profitable ways. By involving our members socially, through a wide range of fun and educational events, we create a positive environment for progressive change, thereby strengthening our local economy and neighborhood.
Here at Your Community Yoga Center we offer a variety of payment options and packages to best suit YOUR needs. You can choose to take single classes or for greater savings purchase one of our Class Cards or Memberships. Choose a dollar amount, or choose a class series or workshop - perhaps a Beginning Class Series for those who never quite get around to it, or a Restorative Workshop with Saskia, for those who have just been pushing too hard.
With the personal, political, and environmental challenges we all face, this might seem like a difficult, perhaps even impossible task, however, there is an opportunity to join others in taking action. Join YCYC teachers and thousands of other like-minded practitioners in an unprecedented effort to reshape the course of human history.
Recently Jen and Laine attended an engaging workshop put on by CEIO at our sister space, The Whitneyville Cultural Commons. Led be sisters Leah and Naima Penniman, our time together included and was enveloped in a fabulous, ongoing story-gathering project, first created in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.
New Year's Day for many people is a time for gathering to eat, drink, make merry and make resolutions. For our yoga center, it also marks our beginning. In 2007, Jennifer and Laine took over Kitty's studio, signing papers late into the evening at Kitty's home on the last day of 2006, then driving to 39 Putnam Avenue to put the new sign up over the door as the New Year was being rung in.

Had a really delightful experience here. was a drop in, with the student price which isn't the cheapest
but wasn't outrageous either (and I've heard they won't turn anyone down due to funds). the atmosphere is great, instruction even better (I was so lucky to have only 3 people including myself in the class to really have a positive experience). I would recommend to anyone and definitely plan on returning in the near future! ... FYI though parking is a bit tight but you can always get a beer at the pub to reward yourself afterwards!
