Going to a wine tasting can be a very fun and enjoyable experience. However, many people do not attend for fear of not knowing exactly how to act or what to do. There is no great mystery to wine tastings, just a few things you should remember. As far as etiquette, usually the ladies are served before the gentlemen.
Please schedule ahead - If you plan to visit our tasting room with a group of 12 or more individuals, you should call ahead. Please give us as much notice as possible. Please do not smoke or wear heavy perfume/cologne - Strong odors present within a tasting room will limit an individual's and others the ability to fully comprehend wine during sampling.

Perfect date-night:
1) walk around zionsville park and along the river
2) dinner at Convivio (outdoor seating during sunset)
3) walk the "city" streets of zionsville
4) drinks at Hopwood Cellars with live music
5) buy a bottle of "Strauss Collection" or "Moon Jazz" and finish it at home
Hopwood Cellars has fair priced wine, great taste, and awesome ambiance for a few drinks with live music, great service, and a music volume that allows a conversation at your table.
Hopwood Cellars is a must visit location.

Their wine slushies are a perfect way to cool off on a hot day. A group of 4 of us stopped in around 7 pm on a Friday. There was a nice sized crowd because live music was about to start. The sign out front said they had wine slushies and vino milkshakes. Three of us opted for the wine slushies while my husband tried the cab sav. The wine slushie flavor is strawberry cake batter if I'm not mistaken. It was delicious! It was also only $5 and the portion size was large. My husband enjoyed the cab sav but instead of getting another glass he opted to get a slushie since he enjoyed mine so much

Cute little place, pretty good wine. I really liked their Cab Sav. You can do a wine tasting, 5 tastes for $5. Tastes are only 1/2 ounce pours though. Very small tastes in my opinion, but it does say it on the menu, so I can't really complain. I didn't appreciate that they wouldn't give me water. I had to buy a plastic water bottle for $1. And they wouldn't let me bring my own filled up reusable water bottle into the store. For a place that serves both alcohol and food, no water was a real turnoff for me. The staff was very friendly though and they were attentive to us. There

Hopwood has become a must-stop for my husband and I when we make our yearly pilgrimage to the Indiana wine trail.
The tasting room in Zionsville is quite charming and cozy, and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The wine selection is spans everything from dry, oaked wines to sweet, fruity wines. That makes Hopwood perfect for us, as my husband prefers the drier wines while I prefer the semi-dry and sweeter wines.
Even if you're not a huge wine drinker, I think you might really enjoy Hopwood. They have something for almost everyone, including a small menu of meat, cheese and bread options

Quaint winery in the heart of Zionsville. It was my first visit so I did a tasting which is 5 wines for $5 dollars, a great deal and a great way to try a variety of their wines. And they do have a great and wide variety! The ones I tried were very good.
It's a small, intimate winery with a very friendly staff. A great place to sit back and unwind.

Stopped in on Saturday night for the first time in awhile. They had a great trio playing. Ron and Janet do a great job remembering people and welcoming them. I prefer their sweeter wines and started with a chambourcin which was served at a cool temperature which really enhances the flavor. I noticed they had something called the Kandi Collection which sounded interesting. Janet said they had introduced this wine collection this past summer. They sounded intriguing so I had to try one. I was torn between the pina colada wine and the sweet marshmallow. Janet said the blueberry cheesecake was her

It was the wine shakes that brought us in. How could you blame us for being curious? Red wine mixed with ice cream and powdered cheese topped with a vodka (and other booze) -soaked green grape - you're curious now too, right? In the end, it was the wine shakes that left us smiling and wishing they were healthy to justify craving more. Sinfully tasty, if you will. Although, I could have done without the grape - the flavor combo didn't do it for me.
So, if I loved the wine shakes so much, why only 3 stars? My total was $20+ for a shake and the flight. Typically, my goal with ordering

This is a very charming tasting room in the heart of Downtown Zionsville. I loved everything about this place. The wines were very eclectic and tasty. I was impressed at the selection of dry reds. The bottle prices for the reds and some semi-drys were priced modestly, but I found the prices a bit high for the sweeter wines.
Children are not allowed on the "bar" side, but can sit on the other side with big comfy leather couches. The tasting room was nearly empty when we went, so the woman pouring was actually kind enough to do our tasting on the couch side. The tasting was priced
