My family waited for two years to take a big family vacation, and when we were finally able to get together we booked the Willow Wood cabin for two weeks. The house is stunning, with high ceilings and windows looking out on a gorgeous view of the mountains. The location is right next to Boone, so we could drive out every day to hiking trails, or to downtown Boone for shopping, or to one of several very good nearby restaurants. We spent our evenings playing board games or watching TV or hanging out in the hot tub on the upper deck.
The house was spotlessly clean, there were plenty of towels (including

We stay in this area of NC each year around mid October and this was our first time booking with HMCR. Overall it was a great experience in comparison to other rental agencies and sites like airBnB. The rep I spoke with to book was very friendly and knowledgeable of the area, answering all my questions before I had a chance to ask. The cabin was 100% as advertised and there were no sneaky or predatory fees added to the listed price. No guesswork on check-in or check-out procedures, everything was provided via email and was accurate. There were also great discount benefits available towards local

Stayed at "view paradise". Dirty cabin, had not been cleaned more than a light vacuuming in months. Dirty bath towels, moldy shower. Pool table was held up by a piece of wood with nails sticking out of it. Drove 16 hours round trip to stay in a place much dirtier than my home, and to an owner that said no, I know it was cleaned because I was there when it was being cleaned.

I am staying at the River Run cabin and it is amazing. Everything is clean and well maintained inside and out. I had put a comment on my reservation that it was my husband and I's 14th anniversary and we were excited to come. Upon arrival, there was a lovely card and two bags of chocolates as "Happy Anniversary" wishes. It was so thoughtful and above and beyond anything expected. There are also beautiful fresh flowers on the dining table. Again, above and beyond. Just lovely. The hot tub is clean and very relaxing....and HOT!! The atmosphere with the river running by is just what we needed. We

Have rented from High Mtn. Cabin Rentals & Stacey (company owner) a couple of times now, and it's obvious he runs a tight ship and a fantastic company. Properties are clean, well-maintained, and exactly as they appear online. Booking, check-in and -out is a breeze. As a real estate professional myself and someone formerly involved with vacation rentals, I know at times it can be a tough job managing guests' expectations and having little control over individual, privately-owned properties. But each of our cabins/stays have been wonderful, and we look forward to more to come! It's also obvious Stacey
