Exercise, especially strength training, can be very intimidating. Many men and women have had bad experiences with exercise in school, have never enjoyed exercise, feel they are too old to start exercising, or are afraid that they will look foolish in a gym. Many women and men have had bad experiences with exercise in gym class or on the playground.
Strength for Life offers you the ability to develop and apply strength in all aspects of life. To live our best lives possible, our focus is on improving in three key areas: physical, intellectual and emotional strength. This is what you expect to work on with us. Physical strength develops through consistently challenging the muscular and neurological systems of your body.
Jim enjoys kayaking, gardening, playing the guitar, reading, writing (you must check out our blog & his Over Fifty Fit blog to see some of his great insights & inspirational articles!) Jim started lifting when he was 13. This helped him through a lot of things, & he quickly realized the value in helping others in this same way.
Working out may not be rocket science, but doing it in a way that produces results while also establishing positive life-long habits without injury. Fueled by a strong interest in fitness and living a healthy life, SFL personal trainers spend countless hours achieving and improving upon our specialized certifications.

I'm a returning client at Strength For Life after undergoing knee surgery. The trainers here are great and make sure to develop challenging workouts using movements that I can do without causing further injury. Ed and Jim are very experienced trainers. They do not just try teach customers how to exercise, but also to understand your own body's response to movements, and to balance exercise and nutrition. The other members of the team are enthusiastic and very knowledgeable, and follow Jim' and Ed's teachings. The gym has a familiar atmosphere. Individual and group lessons are available.

Finally!! A gym that offers a more personalized approach than you'll find in the "big box" gyms. I stumbled upon Strength For Life a few months ago when I was looking for a real change in my fitness routine....and I'm so glad I did. I was tired of getting "lost" in the crowded classes at the larger gyms...tired of not feeling motivated and tired of not seeing results!

The small group classes at SFL are challenging and exciting. The trainers are motivating, encouraging and do a great job to accommodate everyone in their class. The members are welcoming and friendly

I have been to many gyms, tried countless workout classes and weight loss plans, and even worked with a few personal trainers over the years, and the same thing always happens - I get bored or discouraged a few weeks into the program.

That is not the case at Strength for Life, these guys really worked with me on my goals and cater the workouts to challenge me and I am already seeing results! I've been going to PTS for the past 6 months, and I am in the best shape I have ever been in! The owner, Taylor, really cares about the members, and even has member appreciation parties. They are always running specials, and the prices are ridiculously affordable. I've done personal training and just started group classes. Both are wonderful and will whip you into shape! Nowhere else will you find a friendlier group of people and a supportive place to work out. If "drill sergeant" personal trainers are not your style, definitely check out PTS. Taylor and Steven are both amazing

After being a member of the Rocky Run Y for a few years I cancelled my membership and found Peace Thru Strength. It perfectly fits my fitness needs and is very reasonably priced. The instructors push you just enough to meet your goals. I couldn't be happier to have found this great gym!

I have been going to PTSfor a variety of classes for about 3 months now and I wish I had found Taylor and her staff sooner!!!!

Taylor is amazing, motivational, and pushes me to keep going -you can do anything for 30 seconds- thru every class!! She knows what challenges me and makes sure to push me thru those workouts while being attentive to others in the class. Who would imagine the day when I enjoy burpees.

I take spin, trx and impact at PTS and LOVE them all. There is a great variety of classes and the times they run- so much to choose from sometimes I have to take 2!!

Taylor from Peace thru Strength has changed my life in the 3 short months that I have known her. She has the incredible ability to be a motivating, supportive, and tough as nails trainer, and she has that whatever-it-is that has me hooked on more more more exercise! Before this, I had never in my life been able to find a fitness class or gym membership that worked well for me.

As a stay-at-home mom I really needed something unique to help me get back into shape after my second baby. I am not comfortable leaving a newborn baby with gym babysitters and I don't want to pay for a private
