Services
We are a network of counselors committed to our mission of assisting "individuals and families in finding hope and healing when facing the pain of domestic violence, sex trafficking, trauma, and related issues." We are a 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to providing education and therapy within Washington State.
New clients who are looking to start therapy with one of our providers can view the therapist profiles to find the counselor who will be the best fit or call our main office at 206-363-9601 to talk with someone who can help with the process. All calls are confidential. Most major insurance plans are accepted, and sliding scale fees are available on a limited basis for those who qualify.
Northwest Family Life supports and directs a transitional housing program called Penny's Place. Penny's Place is a therapeutic transitional safe house where women and their children fleeing domestic violence and/or trafficking can come and live in supportive community.

Our mission is to provide physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual support that allows for good mental health for women and their children transitioning out of domestic violence and/or trafficking. We have space for up to 8 women and children to live in an intentionally small homelike environment.
Northwest Family Life conducts a State-Certified Batterers' Treatment Program for perpetrators of domestic violence.

This Intervention program meets the WAC 388-60 for Batterers' Treatment and provides an opportunity for individuals to understand the effects of abuse, take responsibility for behavior, remain accountable, change attitudes of power and control in relationships, learn anger management skills, and heal from their personal cycles of violence.
Through speaking, teaching, and presentations, Northwest Family Life has served the community by providing awareness and education on domestic violence and related issues. The Northwest Family Life team offers Education and training locally, nationally, and internationally. We support a number of other countries in their work to end domestic violence, including: Canada, Russia, Moldova, Nepal, The Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, Turkey and more.

I met with a counselor in Tacoma and she was exactly what I was looking for. Then she calls me telling me she can't see me because some person who has never seen me, talked to me,made a decision that I cant see her. I am looking in to my legal rights and to the governing body that overs sees this practice. The arrogance and thoughtlessness of this person is staggering to me.

Northwest Family Life lives up to their mission statement. They change lives by teaching about domestic violence and supporting individuals dealing with DV. The counselors I have had the pleasure of working with have been kind, ethical and professional. This organization and its people work effectively, with compassion and strength, to help educate people about the truth of Domestic Violence. I can't recommend highly enough. NWFL was a Godsend in my life!
